Thank you for the video... I also cut a tiny piece of non slip mat and place it inside the cake box at its base before placing the cake board on top of it. This way I'm doubly sure that the board will not slip around in the box especially if the box is just a little larger than the cake board. Hope this tip adds to your video :)
You are a very smart young lady! And you are neat in what you do and your kitchen says so as well. I have enjoyed watching this tutorial and have learnt something from you. Thank you!
WOW! Cakes are beautiful and I so happy I saw this video. I order tall boxes the price for smaller ones aren't that bad and the box is cardboard which is thicker and sturdy. But I do buy those boxes for smaller cakes and seeing your technique just amazed me, my mouth dropped lol. It's genius. Thanks for posting this.
Georgia, thank you for this video. I’m just going into making larger cakes I know I can do it, I need more confidence, and exactly the same as you say , the tall boxes are really expensive, which makes the cake more expensive to charge for, So thanks for this video, it’s helped me out!
For this teacher’s day I had made a single tiered cake and I realised at 12 in the night that I didn’t have a box to carry it😂 But I’m so glad that my mum is a genious at packing things, what she did was she kept the cake along with the cake board on a plate larger than the cake, then she made a box out of chart paper for it, with its width being the width of the plate so there was a good gap between the cake and the chart paper, but since the ‘chart paper box’ was not strong enough to be held like this she put it in a jute bag and I didn’t face even a single problem in carrying it to my school..
Lis Ita Janie’s sweet has a video about calculating the price. She has an amazing downloadable excel sheet which you can use to put how much you want to get paid by the hour, all the ingredients cost, time of baking, time spent decorating the cake or making decorations , time making the batter etc and it calculates the cost of a whole batch. It has a lot more things in the excel sheet that is super useful. She has a tutorial on how to use it (its a bit of an old video but its super informative)
Thanks for this video... I am also a home baker n facing lots of problem to deliver the cake.... This video is really very helpful... Thanks a lot mam 👍👍👍
Like you Georgia I find this works really well, some boxes are so expensive and this way saves money, and they are sturdy enough once you have made them taller to transport your cake in. 🤗🤗
I love watching your tutorials❤ Thank you SO much for sharing this annoying box problem😉 I will definitely do this..its so pretty! Will you please share if you have a disclosure form...about your policies...I could use ideas from a pro😉
Wow that’s amazing thank you sooo much for sharing this beautiful idea Love you sooo much sister I always watching your video I’m never missing any your videos A lot love 💖💖💖💖😍😍😍 from Afghanistan 🇦🇫
This is a great idea but I can't see this working well for a tiered cake because of the weight of the cake. The regular cake boxes don't seem sturdy enough to hold that.
Hi..thanks so much for a very detailed video. Helps a lot.🥰🥰 Question...you mentioned the cake was chilled overnight...did you chill it with the macarons and baked meringue on it?..did it not becomes soft?..😉
This is amazing, thank you!! I’ve been racking my brains now to package my taller cakes more prettily and this is fab! Would you be able to share the information on the sticker on the back of the box at all? Thank you again xx
Thanks for this video! Very informative. Can't wait to track down those corner pieces and give this a go. Here in Australia the tall boxes are $4.95 which I think is a bit expensive for what it is, especially when trying to keep costs to a minimum. I would love to hear more about any tips you have for traveling with the cake in the car! Or is placing the boxed cake on the floor on a non -slip mat all there is to it?!
I need to get some acetate! I use the same boxes and extenders but hate how the cake is ‘exposed’ when they’re tall! Thanks for the tip! :) I always wonder how you manage to pick up your cakes on cake cards too...I always use drums, I’m too scared in case the cards bend 😭 but much prefer how they look! Do you just use ‘standard’ cards?
love your videos!! can you do a buttercream video? showing how to make Italian meringue buttercream, swiss meringue buttercream, as well as French, german, and ermine buttercreams!
I have a separate cake fridge with very little moisture so they're ok uncovered. however, generally speaking, I package the cake and leave it in the fridge so it's all done an ready for the client to collect!
Just as an FYI you can't say something is gluten free if it may contain. The word you are looking for is non gluten. Just seen cafes (in the UK) get caught out for this and fined. You probs already know this but for anyone who doesn't! :)
For as much as you probably charge for the cake you might be a little to worried about a box going to waste. When we have cakes delivered or mailed I don’t remember anyone trying to take their box back

Great tip. Do you do that on the outside of the box too at its base?
@@yaraignacio That may be a good idea especially when you're transporting the cake in your car 😊

I have been struggling with packing tall cakes for ages. This video has been so helpful.
Good idea. If you attach the acetate onto the corner pieces you could save money by not using as much, and it would still look great.
This is exactly what I do! No way I'm buying those expensive boxes when this is presentable! You sure got 1 more subscriber here.
I'm New but why not include it in your price or delivery fee
@@DesignsByXclusive If you can save the customer some extra bucks, why not?.

You're so real for that, thank you soo much! The explanation was great love your energy
Yes, thank you so much. Cake boxes can be so expensive. This video is so helpful. I'm going to start packaging my cakes the same way.
im so glad your a youtuber. i find your videos so helpful
Thank you so much for this video. I just started making tall cakes and have been searching everywhere for inexpensive boxes that look professional.
Love your videos! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge ☺️🥰
A tutorial on how you calculate the price of a cake would be amazing! 😃😃😃
Lis Ita she mention her cake pricing on previous videos about wedding cakes
amaya403017 yeah i know, but I’d like to know how to calculate ingredients, working time etc ☺️

Love this video I am only just starting to make cakes to order and this method of boxing them is brilliant . Thank you
Cake height is often an issue for me so thank you for the corner extension tip!
@Georgia's Cakes So much better than what I usually do. I used a giant round tupperware upside down 😋 but not anymore!
Brilliant tutorial thanks
Do you think the extension corners can be made from poster cards?
Thanks for this video... I am also a home baker n facing lots of problem to deliver the cake.... This video is really very helpful... Thanks a lot mam 👍👍👍
I do mine very similar to you only i use cling film instead but i think im going to change to acetate from now on, thanks for sharing xx
That would also work! You're welcome :)
This is an excellent suggestion Georgia and looks really good. Thank you !
Glad you like it!
Cutting the acetate to the shape of the square opening would save you money!!
wait, where's the square opening again?
The Legendary Banana Goddess sorry! I meant the rectangle openings that allow you to see into the box and reveal the cake
I was thinking the same thing...
i was thinking that too..
My thoughts as well
Thank you so much for this excellent instructional video. I have a tall cake to package in the next 24 hours ...now I know exactly what to do.
Loved the box tutorial. It looks awesome

Can you please give us the dimensions of the corner extender?? Love this idea. You are a genius 🙌🏾💜
Thank you so much. Can you plz tell what temperature should a cake be stored in the refrigerator and a chiller. Thank you.
This is a great idea but I can't see this working well for a tiered cake because of the weight of the cake. The regular cake boxes don't seem sturdy enough to hold that.
I was thinking the same thing! Ill stick to the heavy boxes. May not be as pretty, but its stable!

I wouldn't have thought about acetate!! Thats a very good idea, because I only use extenders.
Thank you for the great idea! I am always asking for my boxes back if I know the person well enough.
You are very creative ! 👏🏻😍

Great idea!!😍😍
Would you say using a thicker acetate would make the box safer? Or it's unnecessary?
Thanks for sharing the best way to package a cake.
Amazing, all your work. How much is a cake? Is per kilo?
AWESOME! Love it!! ❤️❤️❤️
When you refrigerate your cake overnight, do you cover it with something, or keep it in a box, or just leave it bare?
I would recoment in a paper box. Never(!) plastic. Bare might make it taste like the fridge or get it moist from the fridge.
I have a separate cake fridge with very little moisture so they're ok uncovered. however, generally speaking, I package the cake and leave it in the fridge so it's all done an ready for the client to collect!
