Season 1 after Josh's disaster of a press briefing: "C.J., if blood is gushing from the head wound you just received from a stampeding herd of bison, you'll do the press briefing." Season 4: Both CJ and Josh still have flashbacks from that day
I had to stop the clip at 4:08 because I knew what was coming. Those extended moments of clarity are like a kick in the teeth, to remind you of how they once _were,_ and how far they've fallen.
I remember back in the day finding out CJ was from Dayton which was just down the road from my house in Columbus! In The REAL World, the effects of Alzheimer's on CJ's Dad was heavy and no doubt felt by myself and Fans of West Wing to be sure. In The REEL World, I desperately wanted to immediately hop in my '72 VW Super Beetle and roll to "Flyers Country" to possibly catch CJ on the Concourse and play Fan-Boy for a few delicious minutes! 🤣 But of course the seriousness of the episode made me wake up and breath in the heaviness of this terrible condition and I remember saying a prayer for the victims AND their families who were emotionally handcuffed to help. 💔 MOO From COW-Town Columbus To ALL 👋🙏
I grew up next to a catholic monastery populated by great old men who’d served in one or both world wars, and then given their lives to God. As I grew to know them, they grew not to know me. It’s a horrible thing, and portrayed too accurately for comfort in this episode. I just can’t bear to watch the whole thing.
@@malamalinka It's not that I "like" to skip it, I just can't handle it. Donald Moffat's Tal Cregg hits WAY too close to home when I was taking care of my grandfather when he developed Alzheimer's.

Possibly my favorite line of the whole series

Toby does end up doing the briefing after CJ's promotion and no doubt curses the decision to never hire a deputy press secretary

TWW is one of my most binged shows, but every time I go thru the series, I have to skip this episode. Just can't do it.

Same here 😢

Rip my heart out why don't you.
All that confusion set to Miles Davis' So What from Kind of Blue.....
the only thing that matters is the brilliance of that recording.
Why does the thumbnail look like CJ is recuperating from being stabbed by the Nazgul on top of Weathertop?
😂😂
Too cute!😊
I was angry that her speech got cut short by an emergency.
Clip not long enough!
Whole episodes only do this series justice. IMHO
This is the episode most of us likes to skip in a re-watch.

@@critter42I saw Donald Moffet on stage with Jason Robards in The Iceman Cometh. They were both amazing .
That's what she said.
Why such short clips?
It's a tease to get you to watch the full episode on a particular service.
