Who Am I?:
👋 Hola, I'm Nate. I used to not know any Spanish at all, and I had no interest in learning the language. I thought learning Spanish would be boring, a waste of time, and would provide no value to my life. Then I started taking Spanish classes in high school and everything changed for me. I struggled with learning the language a lot at first, but thanks to my teachers and my Spanish speaking friends, they helped make the learning process fun. Within a few months, I had gotten to a conversational level, but more important, I had become a more confident person. The real win for me, though, was the friendships I made and strengthened. I discovered that not only did I have higher self esteem, but being out in the real world with people, whether old friends or new ones I met, made me feel more alive and connected with the world around me. Now it's my goal to create videos that make you smile and inspire you to learn Spanish or another language!

Estoy escribiendo esto sin “translate”, pues por favor disculpe los errores. Soy gringa de 63 años y yo he estado tratando de aprender esta idioma bonito desde que yo tenía veinte años. Replace ha with he and tratando with tratado, also the e instead of y only comes when an i sound follows, for example, e hice, e interesante

or puedes decir "he estado tratando de" I've been trying to ...... tratar is always followed by "de" and you always need a form of ser/estar after the word ha/he/has

Watching this video was a tiny bit difficult. I learned that I need pauses to comprehend Spanish, not so that I can translate what a person is saying in my head, but so I can think about it. This is simpler with conversations because I've not encountered someone who monologued IRL before, but when we're talking about RUclips it's much more difficult. I'm hoping to remove that need though.

Honestamente, aprender otro idioma no es fácil. Y para poder hablar como los nativos, creo que es casi imposible. Es la verdad, así es.
Por eso, si crees que ay no logro en mi estudio a pesar de unos años aprendiendo español, no te pongas triste. Poco a poco, llegarás a la fluidez.
(Si yo cometo errores, me perdonas.. soy solo un estudiante de español 😂)

Por supuesto no es fácil, pero tambien no es tan imposible. Solamente he llevado aprender español por 5 o 6 meses más o menos y ya tengo un nivel B1 (en mi opinón), con mucha dedicación (intento gastar una hora o 2 diario aprendiendo español), tú puedes aprender con un ritmo que te deje con mejoras. Puedo hablar con nativos de esta idioma y ya cometo muchos errores pero día a día cuando me corrigen, estoy aprendiendo y mejorando. Mucha suerte con tu estudio amigo :))

You can use "chin" when you feel discouraged, regretful for something, or even when you make a mistake and you feel angry. This expression comes from "chingado" which is an offensive word, but its short version "chin" is not offensive at all and is very common to hear it.
Example 1: ¡Chin! Olvidé mis llaves en casa. (I forgot my keys at home).
Example 2: ¡Chin! Me gustaría comprar un carro nuevo pero no tengo dinero. (I'd like to buy a new car but I don't have money).

As a former Spanish teacher, after having earned a degree in the language, and living in South America for a few years, I give Gringo Nate an 8 out of 10 for expression, and a 9 out of 10 for pronunciation.
