Overwatch 2 Season 3 battle pass, with credits back in and buyable old pre-Overwatch 2 skins, feels like a step in the right direction - hence me seeing how I feel with this video. I'll jump into Lore of The Skins again and see equally in the coming days.
How do you feel about Season 3, the new battle pass and the credit changes? I do love the mythology skins!

There is somethings to note here, one is that when I bought the premium bp with onle 1k credits it sent my total credit count to -600. So hopefully that gets fixed. Secondly the tank hp decreases in the open que is also there in practice range.... for some reason....
Its a visual bug thats been in the game since launch, numbnuts. Next time you open the game it’ll be back to normal.
And the tank HP thing was IN THE PATCH NOTES. No role queue in practice range, so figures it’d affect there too, thanks to OW2 coding.
I might actually go for this one, but I’m not sure. They’re moving in the right direction, I think, but it’s not there yet. I’ve also been very hesitant about the monetization.
Completely fair. I hope to see more progress, and the PVE could honestly make/break things for me personally either way. It's going to be in pieces, for sure - how, and how much, is really key to be honest.
The new credits don’t provide the player with what was promised which is a shame - hoping it’s a bug else I don’t see how we can trust what Blizzard says anymore

the fact they only give legacy credit feel like they did a 6 step backward and one really small step forward.
they could do something like giving a few hundred premium credit in the battle pass, maybe not enough to buy a new one without spending, but at least it do not feel for a job without end collecting them and will bring some worth to the xp boost for the free player like with the old game.

Been mixed on things myself - doing / supporting the things I feel comfy to and can enjoy, we'll see how Overwatch 2 PVE presents itself later this year! Will make some more things for fun in the meantime and we'll see :)

I enjoy the lore vids and detail you go into, but honestly a walk-through of the battle-pass doesn't sit well for me. At best there is a moment or 2 of interesting lore, but at worst it's marketing their egregiously over-priced cosmetics that only reward those who can spend every waking moment playing the game.
Credit changes are a step, but season 4 will still have the locked Hero I'm sure, so not supporting Activision Blizzard until they change that stance. Overwatch is a counter-picking game, so having those options time restricted unbalances that experience.
I get it Jet - I've been on the fence about covering battle pass, and indeed, skins in general for some of the reasons you mention. It's not really for views, honestly - these videos (and lootboxes in the past) have never really been a views thing for me. Being blunt, fancied it mainly to chat about the cool Mythology skins a bit (making a specific video on those), and as Blizzard re-introduced credits, I see it as a small step in the right direction.
The question I've been around wider is, can I talk about cool things in any way without promoting stuff that feels anti-consumer, or at best a rough-edged F2P monetisation system (which is slowly improving)?
I enjoy covering the lore, and now, a lot more of it (or fun things to talk about - eg Amaterasu) goes into selling skins and battlepasses. In the past, it was still lootboxes, of course - but with the earning system, people by playing would get a reasonable amount of cosmetics if they wanted them. Creating content discussing skins now - (I've done Lore of The Skins videos for nearly 5 years), feels like promoting skin sales indeed, or battle pass sales at least.
In some ways, covering some things (voicelines/interactions) means that people don't have to buy some skins to enjoy all the pieces of them, but I'm aware it's still promotion by proxy.
Will see how I feel - appreciate anyone's stance if they don't feel happy supporting things as-is!
@@Hammeh Appreciate the detailed and thoughtful response! I understand its tough in your boots, especially as dropping timely content also means some potential coin for your pockets. If I were in your boots, I'd probably just have a bit in the opener saying how you feel about it as a purchase before diving in, if you feel it's bad value or poor monetisation in its current form it's worth saying that you don't support it and this is a cool avenue to explore the lore.
On the other side of the coin, ActiBlizz only like content creators who suck up, so saying you disapprove may hurt your relationships, so I sympathise there.
Again, appreciate the detailed thought and consideration you've given to a small internet comment, and hope you find a happy balanced medium you can walk.
