Tesla's strategy is a textbook example of how a company disrupts an entire industry and Elon Musk has proven that he is one of the greatest entrepreneurs of this generation.
10 years ago the outlook on the automotive industry was completely different. Tesla was a tiny company that was seen as a boutique venture. By applying a brilliant business strategy, Tesla managed to become one of the household names in the automotive industry around the world. Today, all of the large auto producers have turned their attention towards the electric vehicles niche, and there is little doubt that this is the future.
Tesla's strategy is a video that examines several key topics:
    - What enabled Tesla to become a larger autoproducer than the Ford Motor Company in just 10 years?
    - Which are the key success drivers in the automotive industry
    - How important are Tesla's Mission and Vision statements
    - Five forces analysis of Tesla and the elelctric vehicles industry

The only thing I disagree with is that Tesla produces around half the worlds batteries. I don’t know where the competition will get them from and they definitely won’t be as cheap. They will be cutting each others throats to get contracts with battery producers. Tesla has no competition and I don’t see anyone but VW making the necessary capital push to get their own battery production facilities. Tesla will be the dominant company in the world. They will be in multiple trillion dollar markets including transportation, energy storage, energy production, Superchargers, insurance, robot taxis. Not to mention they have the support from Elon’s other companies.

When this guy successfully creates a shipping vehicle that can be used in place of semi-trucks, they're going to explode far beyond anything personal transport vehicles will ever achieve for them. He'll take over the entire shipping and transport industry. That's trillions of dollars.

In 2018, Tesla sold just over 100,000 units worldwide. In 2018, Tesla sold 197,000 units in the U.S. alone. Tesla sold around 250,000 units worldwide in 2018. Most expect Tesla will exceed 300,000 Deliveries in 2019, possibly over 400,000 units.

    Tesla is an ostentation product.
It doesn’t compete in traditional vehicles models.
With traditional automakers merging these will give them an important competitive advantage in cost technologies and development.
    For me

You use the word focus wrong. The legacy automakers are dabbling in EVs. If they were focused in it, they would: build charging infrsctructure, build battery plants, and engineer the motors. I dont see them doing that. They have many more ICE vehicles and a few EV offerings. I dont think they cam focus on it because they are financially trapped to continue business as usual or else profits and shares fall - they have ni incentive to do that. Focus means going all in, they are not doing that.

How about the full self driving? I hope that Tesla full self driving will be feature complete by the end of this year and hope that Tesla will have a fully autonomous software by the end of this year or more likely 2021/2022. I want a level 5 fully autonomous Tesla, so that I can sleep, text and talk on my phone, be at my destination and so I can drive drunk too. I can't wait for our driver less future to arrive.

"Imminent competition expected to intensify" at about 20:30 and forward is very important. No doubt Tesla will be the victim of intellectual property theft as Mr. Curtis did to the Wright Brs. and as an adage a couple of businessmen put me wise to long ago; "Don't be the pioneer, as the pioneer finds all the stumbling blocks and all you have to do is follow him and eventually outpace him." I'm all for Elon Musk but am afraid he will get leap frogged by Ford who knows the symbiosis of the Patent; and court system, inner workings far better than Elon Knows batteries. Yet it is interesting that you highlight the "image" of "the company" as being some altruistic person rather than the reality that must be the true beast hiding under that sheep's clothing. It may be that it is a virtuous beast. Wouldn't that be refreshing? Tesla should contract with cities to own all the solar energy that hits taxpayers roofs; no? Ford would do it.

clavo Ford has had years in which to "leapfrog" Tesla. What are they waiting for? They have a huge investment in their ICE assembly plants and about half of that investment is tied up making gasoline/diesel motors. If they stopped producing those motors today they would be stuck with $billions in stalled (lost) capital. Where are the $billions to halt their ICE production and start mass producing EVs going to come from? And this evolution will take time. They are already years behind Tesla and by the time they get EV production up to scale, Tesla will have moved further along. Ford had better get started (10 years ago) in order to catch up with Tesla. By the time they catch up to where Tesla is today (Feb. 2020), Tesla will not be totally dependent on its passenger car division. All of its other divisions will also be ahead of their nearest competitors. I imagine that you are heavily invested in Ford, and I wish you all the best.

@@gwarlow really? You think Ford doesn't own some Tesla stock? Ford isn't such an innocent babe to go round announcing their hidden strengths. Ford didn't require a bailout, remember? Thank you for you well wishes; may they prove fruitful if sincere; or backfire if not.
