I think if you had some other rodders to travel with it would be more enjoyable. I bet that heat is unbearable 👍
I'm right there with you on the newer cars. My hometown car show, is held the 4th Saturday of every month. Anywhere from 500 to 1000 attend, depending on the weather. About 1/4 of the cars will be newer Camaros, challengers, mustangs, etc. With a set of wheels and truck straight pipes. I could understand something custom built but 95% of people don't care about your new vehicle with a set of wheels, unless it's something exotic.
Thanks for taking the time to post your experience with the "Power Tour". The Power Tour was one of the things on my bucket list. After watching your videos and another You Tuber, I will be crossing it off. It is billed as the largest rolling car show. I've always loved going to the local show and shines, world of wheels, etc.. I don't have a preference of any make or model of car as long as it's older. It doesn't have to be a show car. However, I have no interest in walking up and down rows of cars that I could see at any parking lot grocery store or Walmart. If it's not 20 to 25 years old at a minimum whats the point. That's just my opinion. I have a 84 c-20 and a 1970 chevelle. The chevelle is still in project stage. The C-20 could make the trip. But not at 10 miles to the gallon. lol
These older cars can't handle this heat wave. A lot of guys are ruining their cars on this tour. I get that it is a challenge and you want the experience, but I would be in one of my newer hot rods with A/C if I did it. I will be at the Pensacola stop in my 09 XLR-V. Not an old car, but very rare and a Cadillac unicorn. I like rare cars, not just old cars.
You made it further than I would with no A/C.
I'm in p-cola was going to go but it's to hot no shade at the fairgrounds you need a pop up tent lol
When I drive my 75’ Nova in Texas I sweat like heck, but I still wave like I’m in a parade.

Dan at DD speed shop got his credentials in Nashville they skip Memphis because all the Looting at night.
VGG was parked at the DEI tent on day 1 DEI makes Sound Deadening mat.
He missed Nashville.
@@clunkersandclassics Derek and Jessica and the three boys was with a group and one of the group cars broke down so he missed Memphis, he and Jessica decided to go on home near Nashville and sleep in their own beds that night, but they made the Nashville venue.
Thanks for taking us along on the trip. Glad you took the pup. Wish you could get an ac compressor at oreilly and get the system charged at a local shop. Surely some of your followers know of a local shop along the way who would love to help. That pup needs AC!

Understand not wanting to sit out on the asphalt. But, people at the other channels can’t see your work. If you don’t register or socialize some. Your work is second to none. But, understand with your dog. I lost a dog in a car due to heat. But, enjoy seeing the cars. Thank you for sharing Lee. God Bless!

Thanks for taking us there and spending the time/effort to upload on the road. Seems like they want to be the biggest and have no restrictions for what a hot rod is. I dunno but doesn't seem to be that fun when everywhere you look, there's a massive line up and all you can do is watch the temp gauge. I'll pass but that's just me thanks c&c

My son and I will be there next year. He bought a 78 Pontiac Sunbird that we are going to throw a 305 auto trans and rear end out of a 85 S-10 and build a "throwback 1980's street car". Like the car that "Kevin" drove in high school because it was given to him by "Aunt Margert" because she was too old to drive and he needed a car to drive while in High School and made in to a street performer. Painting it that 1980's Mint Green, Grey Houndstooth interior, Kraco AM FM cassette tape player....... Legendary Wheels MAGNUM 400 14 inch wheels, the whole 9 yards, were even going to have a friend of mine that makes vinyl decals to recreate the Sunbird hood decal in silver.

It would be cool if you had someone with you and puppy. Oh well , right. Any how The Nova looks good as or better than of rides . An yeah the older cars is what I like to . The new cars just don't have the class and style. Along with you can fixed it with out a degree, right. Drive safe and have a great time.

Things like credentialed entrants not being allowed in venues because they didn’t have proof stamps etc etc from the last stop ... long lines at check- ins... excessive harassment from police passing thru small towns...☹️

I wish I had that much workspace here, very hard to find in the Netherlands. I have a 70's Chevy Camaro RS, now with 454 bigblock restored in a 18 square meter garage
I bought the Camaro in 1999, and came from California in 1996
And I've done a lot to it over the years.

And then your air conditioning doesn't work anymore, that's really bad
I can well imagine that you don't want to walk in that heat there. and not okay for the dog at all.

Yeah real heavy rush hour traffic. Even northern ky. has stop and go at times.
Nothing like that Chevy Nova straight six most hot rods probably over heated on the trip down there
That's why they called those Inline Straight Six's a Hot Water Six they can handle the heat.
A cheap Styrofoam cooler, ice and battery powered fan could have cooled you and puppy in the car. Next time maybe.

"Can I Bring My Pet Or Animal On HOT ROD Power Tour?"
Please do not bring your pets. Power Tour stops are usually held on asphalt and it does get very hot. It is unfair to the animal, and it is respectful to fellow participants and our fans and spectators to leave the animals at home.

Myself- I’d rather have raisins than sour grapes 🍇 and Yes, he specifically read their remark on pets. He doesn’t care as he loves his dog and obviously wouldn’t do anything to jeopardize his health
Send him your address and maybe he'll send you a bag of Puppy's previous night's dinner to eat.
I hear you, "it's too hot", " there's too much traffic", " that's not a hot rod" & etc. ,the world is big place and some folks should just stay on their couch if you're uncomfortable with society or this thing called being outside and enjoying life
