Watching this in 2023 when the A90J 55"s just dropped down to $999. Believe I'm going to finally upgrade my 15 year old Samsung 46" LCD thanks to a burn in mistake. Thanks for the great video review.
The 65” C1 is now $1700 but the 65” A90J is still $3799 I’m sure the picture is a little nicer due to it being a brighter OLED but to me that A90J is not worth $2000 more and the C1 is amazing and the motion is pretty darn good
I agree C1 is great. But Sony TVs been better than LG when it comes to real life colour matching. But not 2000 more. $1000 but Sony charge 1000 for the name sake. It's annoying because LG TVs are 10% behind at best. ... When you buy the Sony you can say I have the best of the best A90j 2021 and you are paying for that. Like iPhones they charge so much for them. Compared to android phones. Because of the name
The inputs are not an issue. Nearly every time I upgrade my Sony Bravia, I upgrade the AV unit too. They have all the inputs and outputs you could ever need. The KDL2000X I bought when the PS3 launched was over £5000. That crisp 1080 on a hybrid IPS 47" screen, with Dolby pro and the EX Engine, was wicked at the time. I find the top Bravia's to be a tad above the tech at time of launch so I'll stick with them........unlike the Playstation now.
I personally got a LG C1. The Evo panel used in the G1 is actually being used in the C1 but the C1 out of box calibration makes the G1 look way better. Thank god for RTings because you make a few settings and boom you got a much cheaper tv that goes toe to toe with the Sony and G1

4:58 It was PANASONIC that came up with the Panel Cooling Plate idea first, Sony adopted that, also Panasonic's HZ2000 is MUCH more colour accurate, brighter with more shadow detail, better Image retention than any other brand, and the best MOVIE viewing and processing and 24p Motion, the best Near black performance and no pulsarisation whereas the Sony still suffers from this and every other OLED, also Panasonic's has support for Atmos, Dolby Vision, HLG, HDR and HDR10 and 10 plus across ALL it's TV's, the A90 j is Great, but WAY too overpriced for it just being a casual living room TV and the Panasonic now only costs 3k for 65 inch and 2.5k for 55 inch. however if u want 4k 120, then go for this year's Panasonic JZ2000, which is secretly the best for gaming, since it lets you use an ACCURATE image preset, like vivid for gaming, Cinema for movies whilst playing games and having game mode on without it looking washed out in the stupid game mode image preset, and no other TV dose this.

Feels like you guys missed a few other points about the chipset holding back the Sony. One issue is that you can’t do 4K120 and Dolby Vision at all. Not a huge deal, but now that MS has enabled Dolby Vision gaming on the Xbox Series X you just can’t use it unless you drop down to 1440p120 or 4K60 manually. Also, the chipset has bandwidth issues so if you try to use 4K120 HDR you get processing issues. On last year’s TV they would just internally render at 1080p without telling you. On the A90J they seem to do some kind of interlacing that causes some artifacts and the gradation processing gets messed up. That’s something that can’t be fixed via an update, so if you do a lot of gaming, it’s probably just best to avoid the Sony altogether. If you don’t care about gaming, though, it’s hard to beat.
I have the lc c9 and honestly whenever I watch tv at night in my bedroom with the curtains closed the tv (at times) is too bright for my eyes! Whoever says that the c9 or even the cx is not bright enough is watching tv in a bright living room. I got a LG CX and the Sony OLED is insane. Best OLED tv I’ve seen.
The edit and direction for this video are so refreshing than usual. The format is the same. Love it!
Everyone questioned why I paid so much for my 65-in LG C10, until they see it.
I paid that much for a tv and it's seriously the best tv I've ever seen. I'm more than happy! Waiting for the vrr update though. Really the only down side to the tv.
How is it working for you? I've been thinking to buy it.
@@namaankhan8306 it's been great overall. I will say, for racing games and sports gaming, abl kicks in more frequently than I like. But generally for movies, the picture is still outstanding. Gaming is still fine on it. I do wish it was brighter though. In thinking of switching to the z9k from Sony in the future. I miss having that sheer brightness with no limits
@@SpencersStuffTVThanks for replying. I'm not a gamer. I'm a series and movie buff. I'm confused between LG's C2, G2 and A90J. So I think I will go for A90J after all. It's a big investment for me. A95K is way too expensive.
@@namaankhan8306 if you're a movie buff, the a90j is stellar and you won't find anything that LG offers from that year that is better.

Yes, happy.

Can it run crysis?
I hope that was in a laptop at least, dear god 😨
Sorry for your loss
the sony A90J IS YHE KING OF OLED TV ,I AM GOING TO TAKE TH 83 INCH ,ITS AMAZING IN EVERY THING,beautiful LOOK,OUTSTANDING IMAGE,
As a huge Interstellar fan, I was glad that you used it in a lot of the B-roll
Sony: Reality can be whatever I want
15 views, 14 seconds old, good sign of a damn good channel
Watched this video on my SONY A1, it's still a great TV after years!
I have the same tv as you and it's fantastic mine is 55inch but thinking of upgrading to a90j 65 or a a80 at 77 torn between the two lol
@@ibby.hussain_ I very much want to upgrade as well, just I don't know how to process the current A1!
@@familyden4640 I'm more of a movie person and the A1 doesn't support dolby vision through HDMI so my 4k movies I'm not getting the full effect, the brightness of the A1 is ok but nothing like the A90j which is next level plus these tv's have evolved so much since the A1 you would notice alot nice upgrades, I've waited a while to upgrade nothing really caught my eye until the A90j I love the look of it quite similar to our tv which sits low to give you an immersive view, I will miss the A1 lol.
@@familyden4640 if you game alot I would recommend an LG from this year's line up
Watching this in 2023 when the A90J 55"s just dropped down to $999. Believe I'm going to finally upgrade my 15 year old Samsung 46" LCD thanks to a burn in mistake. Thanks for the great video review.
I really appreciate that you're using Blade Runner 2049 for all of these tests, its one of the most beautiful films i've ever seen
I’d never thought I would see mediastorm on LTT’s channel ngl.

"Imagine being happy to overpay..."
Nothing to imagine, I know a lot of Apple customers.
Was about to write this myself.
Some even go out of their way to convince people why overpaying is good for the consumer somehow lol.
@@MrFruitPrimate Ah ah, I ruined your joke now.
@adam or just.... don't buy Apple
They're buying "revolutionary" products after all..
@adam so there is only Apple and Samsung?
Sony is always a best brand for TV cuz Sony kdl 46hx750 works in our house for 10 years still awesome compared to latest 1080p TV's
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR AN OLED TV REVEIW FROM YOU GUYS FOR AGESS - Keep it uppp
The production quality on this video is absolutely insane, guys. Really excellent work here.
Love how the title is "Imagine Being Happy to overpay..." and then there's the iPhone 12 giveaway link in the first line of the description
I’m loving my A90J! ❤️
How is it working for you? I'm thinking about buying it.
@@namaankhan8306 it’s an excellent TV. You won’t be disappointed It can get bright, especially with Dolby Vision shows. It even sounds good without a sound bar.
@@petermaz701 Thanks for replying. I'm really confused between LG's C2, G2 and A90J. A95K is way too expensive for me. I guess I will go for A90J after all. I'm not a gamer. Movie and series watcher though.
@@namaankhan8306 Thats exactly what i am. (Movies and shows) if its discounted its worth it. 👍🏻
You can say about Apple anything you want, but Magsafe on the iPhone is genius. That car accessory alone is a game changer.

Already had my mind up that I wanted this month's ago and based on this review I am still going to get it!
So did you get it? I picked up one one sale now finally.
Thought this was going to be about Apple just looking at the title
Original Title: Imagine Being Happy to Overpay…
Copied
They changed it lol🤣🤣🤣
I bought the 65 inch A90J, and have no regrets, brilliant picture and sound to match. I'm not into gaming at all, so gaming features have no interest to me. I did buy a Samsung Q95t, but wasn't happy with the build quality, the front came loose from the back within a day, and sd content didn't look great, so I sent it back.
I LOVE my Sony bravia 850G - And for TVs, you usually actually get what you pay for. Good TVs cost Good Money.
8:18 "It's larger, longer"
That has so many interpretation
Longer, Larger, Fart-
4:58 It was PANASONIC that came up with the Panel Cooling Plate idea first, Sony adopted that, also Panasonic's HZ2000 is MUCH more colour accurate, brighter with more shadow detail, better Image retention than any other brand, and the best MOVIE viewing and processing and 24p Motion, the best Near black performance and no pulsarisation whereas the Sony still suffers from this and every other OLED, also Panasonic's has support for Atmos, Dolby Vision, HLG, HDR and HDR10 and 10 plus across ALL it's TV's, the A90 j is Great, but WAY too overpriced for it just being a casual living room TV and the Panasonic now only costs 3k for 65 inch and 2.5k for 55 inch.
however if u want 4k 120, then go for this year's Panasonic JZ2000, which is secretly the best for gaming, since it lets you use an ACCURATE image preset, like vivid for gaming, Cinema for movies whilst playing games and having game mode on without it looking washed out in the stupid game mode image preset, and no other TV dose this.
Sony Bravia A90J best both LG G1 and Panasonic JZ2000 in motion processing upscaling sound quality and colour accuracy.
JZ2000 is overpriced
For the price of that TV, I could actually afford an RTX 3090.
But couldn't afford the display that would properly use the 3090.... life....
@@bobhanson1037 I'm still rocking $120 LG triple 1080p60 24in monitors.
Connected to a reference 980 (she runs hot) which frequently randomly cuts out the primary display and required plugging back in.
Works fine for the most part, but I'd upgrade that GPU before I spent $3k on a TV.
@@aeriumfour6096 eh I'm in the middle. I have a 2080 ti paired with a 1080 p 240 hz, and UW 1440p 120 hz monitor and use to play on my 55" oled. Now my ps5 is on my oled. I get your point though. Some of these tvs are ridiculous
For the scalper price of a 3090, you can actually afford this TV...
The oled tv is expensive and made for enthousiast who use it as intended in a (pitch) dark room and those people never complain... it’s the people who use their tv in a living room with all of the lights on that complain it’s not bright enough 😉
