- Pagan Viking Sea Kings spend the 10th and 11th centuries morphing into Christian monarchs. But with rulers like Harald Bluetooth and Svein Forkbeard it’s debatable whether things will be any less horrific for Scandinavia’s neighbors

Today I’m thankful for Dan Carlin and Hardcore History.
Me too! :)
Everyday I'm thankful for Can Darlin.
IQ below 80🤣🤣🤣
love ur profile pic
😮😊😊🎉😢i
My stomach drops every time I see the name Dan Carlin pop up on my phone! Literally the best videos on RUclips
Then everyone needs to subscribe and buy his catalog! Best wartime history lectures you can find.
It's like Christmas came early
Bro it’s like glimpsing a legendary creature
This year I am thankful for the near infinite collection of knowledge I have at my fingertips in a tiny black LED screen I can fit in my pocket. A true Alexandrian Library.
This comment made me like the world a little more.
Dan you inspired me to quit my job in a Bakery and pursue education, I'm scheduled to finish this year!!
Brilliant!
That's great. What will you be teaching?
Hell yeah
Bad move but ok
@@jvitiumig3259why's that?
There’s too much to comment upon, but the breadth of sources, the approach to the storytelling, weaving of culture with history, and the voice. Rock on Dan Carlin. Six hours is nothing to apologize for.
Great video ! Thanks Dan !
Six and a half hour Carlin episode 🤤
How lucky are we to be alive
It's the longest epiosde of Hardcore History released so far.
I was having a bad day, but now things are fine. Thank you, sir. As someone who majored in History but never found it in himself to follow through with Academy life, I have to say that your self description of "a fan of history" is pretty much how I see myself too.
Another epic installment in Dan Carlin ethos.
As a Russian, thanks for dedicating a large chunk to our history, didn't think that I would hear the name Perun uttered from Dan's mouth. I remember when I was in third grade, our teacher told us about how Igor was bound to two bended down birch trees and then basically teared in half, I was thinking to myself: "I'm too young to listen to this!" 😂
Epic stuff.
Bless you Dan Carlin for countless hours of enjoyment you've provided us over the years. I seriously cannot get enough, you've provided something that is actually needed yet scarce.
So good. This was my first Hardcore History series. Started couple weeks ago with the first part of Aesir. I don't know what took me so long. On Celtic Holocaust now.
Def check out Ghosts of the Ostfront series. The most hardcore one there is.
Only Dan Carlin would say Odin had a couple of Ravens he used recon purposes. A true thanksgiving gift getting 6+ hrs of Hardcore History
Whoa, new Danny Carlin just dropped and he thought we wouldn't notice 🔥🔥🔥💯
Dan Carlin is a real inspiration he’s the best teacher !
hey daddy

Don't.
Freeze.
You're under arrest.
Didn't expect to see Cappy here!
Finally, this existence is worth living again.
Amen
Yes, we all gather here at the fountain of information.
6.5 hours of Vikings by Dan the day before Thanksgiving. Awesome
Love Dan Carlin and his Hardcore Histories, but I long for more of his Common Sense episodes.
Miss his perspectives and unbiased view- relating history to contemporary issues. It’s something I wish he’d post regularly 🙏🏼
I'm a simple man, I see a new hardcore history, I clear my schedule. Thank you.
Just graduated Infantry OSUT and so glad to have seen Dan post another phenomenal episode of HH.
Thank you so much for the hours of entertainment you have brought to me. Your shows got me into History and now it is my favourite pass time.
Agape and Phileo, Shalom and Selah. Thank you Sir for yet another splendid deep dive dissecting the ancient world.
This is not from antiquity, but from the middle ages.
I'm greatful, I was born in February 1995 and I'm alive today to listen to Hardcore history.
Much appreciation for the many long hours of research and hard work required to put these grandiose episodes together spent by you and your team.
Keep on keepin' on, my good folk!
God Dammit! Sorry family I'll be 6 hours late for Thanksgiving dinner.
Dear sweet baby jesus thank you for this pre Christmas miracle 🙏
Always a glorious day when we get a new Hardcore History lesson. Thank you so much Dan and Ben.
Man! I am savoring this. Just got thru the bit on rogue waves. I love how Dan Carlin leaves in his tangents and hiw he ropes them back in right at the point where your brain asks, "wait, what were we talking about."
Glad you're talking about Neil Price. He's got a series of three hourish-long lectures here on RUclips that are excellent, well worth watching for all who are enjoying this HH series
Got the playlist saved thank you sir
Awesome ty bud
6 hours and 24 min.....there's NO way that I have that much time......*Flash forward a couple of days*......I listened to that whole thing & need more......
So thankful for this podcast. It reminded me to rediscover Bathory's Norland 1 & 2 albums. Quorthon was the father of Viking metal, RIP.
Happy thanksgiving
Omg I just re-watched thor's angels and finished twilight of aesir, perfect timing. Thank you a lot. This will definitely be listened to over the weekend. I love your work so much Dan, I bought so many of your podcasts and your book. You can count on my support 😃
Thanks for uploading Dan!! Now I know what I'm doing tonight
Thank you Dan and crew for everything you guys go through to get these out.
Love Dan's work. You should consider doing one episode about the clash of two worlds that was the spanish conquest in America. Imagine the mystery of the emperor of the most dominant culture in America meeting with the Spanish conquistador Cortez each representing the worlds biggest mystery to each other at the time. Definitely something that should be shared with humanity. You can lookup the work of historian Dr. Miguel Zunzunegui he is amazing on this topic
pretty sure thats coming. Im half turkish half german and I went from Germany to live in Mexico for like 6 months and I loved it. Been to the Templo Mayor, Teotihuacan etc , it was like a dream come true
I genuinely enjoy every minute of every breakdown form you Mr. Dan Carlin. Another classic and know wonder you have a long time between podcasts. 6hrs of content is an incredible feat and a ton of research
I freak the hell out thinking "there is a part 2?" And I love it, please make more of this Mr. Carlin!
Absolutely incredible. Dan is a treasure so glad he does this for us much love!
I gotta say, no single bit of content comes out that I look forward to an episode of HH.
I've listened to every episode more than a few times, nothing comes close to the feeling I get from this show.
Thank you Dan!
I cannot express the level of unexpected HYPE I got when I spotted this in my feed. It's not even my birthday!
I wonder now with Napoleon in the cinema maybe Dan will be inspired to start the series we've all been asking for, fingers crossed
Seeing this on Thanksgiving morning is one of the best presents I have received in awhile you have out done you self Dan
Incredible. I'm always in awe of the way you can explore the breadth of history whilst maintaining a core narrative.
Amazing show as always. If I could make a suggestion for the future, I really want a napoleonic wars series. I want the full in depth dan carlin view on napoleon. Thank you for everything Dan.
I agree, also dan covering the "golden age" of piracy and all of the great stories that could be told with a dan carlin in depth analysis would be awesome too. I know we have epic history, kings and generals for napoleon and the pirate history podcast for the high seas but nothing brings history and storytelling together this well besides dan. A close second is fall of civilizations but yeah. Anyone else who loves history the RUclips channels I mentioned in this are epic and could hold you over until the next episode of hardcore history! Hopefully a napoleonic series!
Thanks for the amazing episode Dan. Love the cover art as always. Took me a while to realise that it's a combination of the World Tree Iggdrasil and the Christian cross. Sending British love from out here in Taiwan.
I feel part of history to be this fast in dan Carlin video
Listened on Spotify, Dan's my favourite non historian. Awesome podcast once again.
The illustrations are so amazing!!
Oh thank you so very much you beautiful Cherub you! Ive been listening to Ghosts of the Ostfront and Wrath of the Khans. My wife thinks im trying to memorize them. Lol.
IM SO EXCITED!!!!!!! SIX AND A HALF HOURS!!!!!!!! HELL YES!
Went back to the Wrath just to map all of Gingis Stratagems. Carlin is an international treasure.
Christmas has come early! Thanks Dan! Love all of your work!!!
No one else in this planet could have kept me engaged for 7 hours. U da man
Finally a new episode! Just in time for Thanksgiving. I'll be eating a big fat smoked turkey leg like a savage Viking warrior while I listen to this!
Six hours of total wonder! reminded me of being at school when a teacher we had at the time told of old geek storys......( like Herculise as a child had vipers put into his cot but he just crushed them witth his grip, he was only playing with them etc) .............. thank you again Dan, your posts are a total release from the bondage of everyday life yet being very VERY imformitive.
Wonderful stuff indeed !
You have taught me more about my ancestors than anyone could ever come close to even scratching the surface. Seriously from my family to you… thank you. As an American, we are all mutts. This means alot to me
New Dan Carlin episode AND I have new IKEA furniture that needs to get assembled . A perfect combination :)
Thanks Dan for the perfect 12 hour introduction to Vinland Saga
Things I'm grateful for???
Dan Carlin.
Thank you, thank you so much!
Flying is fundamentally more bizzare and "crazy" than boating. Well put.
Everytime I wonder when a new episode is coming out I am pleasantly surprised that one has been posted.
2 minutes in and you talk about multiverses, it's not aliens but it's close.
thx for the upload
It's wonderful. I've been an uneducated individual as far as history is concerned... but have accumulated all the knowledge available through my schooling. I was never excited to do the research myself.... then I listened to HH. I just purchased herodotus... dan has bridged the gap between the historians and the common people... thank you for opening my eyes to so much history...
I just rewatched your original Twilight of the Aesir the other day lol. Perfect timing.
The "Viking" chief funeral was way more hardcore than I thought
Dan gave us an early Christmas gift
Been looking forward to this since part one ended, thank you Dan, truly.
Another masterwork. Can't wait to see what comes next.
Very cool to hear and learn about my Grandmothers side of the family who are/were Knutsons. I never knew the history behind the name, made me proud to learn about that
Thank you Dan for making us all here fall in love with History and spoiling fiction for us in the process.
Worth the wait!!!
I had just re listened to all your stuff last month and this drops hell ya :) happy Thanksgiving mr.carlin thankyou.
The ending to this story is the best ending I‘ve ever heard
Please don’t ever stop Dan!
My god the excitement of seeing this in my feed had me choking on my own spit while brushing my teeth! Today is a good day!
I enjoy these shorts.
This material is a gift to humanity, thank you Dan for all your effort and time put into this.
Why is this 90 minutes longer than the spotify version?
Idk is it? Commercials maybe ?
Spotify version cuts off early for some reason, just had to open RUclips to finish it lmao
The long wait is always worth it! Love these Dan Carlin podcasts
Yeessssss!! I've driven many long days with Dan as the best codriver I could wish for.
I love listening to your histories as I cruise on my bike.
Thank you so much Dan Carlin. You never miss!
A true thanksgivings gift, we love you Dan!
Happy thanksgiving and thank you for this episode!

The best. Thank you, Mr. Carlin.
Me, as a Vinland Saga reader: More Dan, I'm begging you for more
Incredible work as always Dan. Just finished your book and had a blast with it. Keep doing the great work that you do.
