    I remember when you showed the pump tank last year, bummer it was not usable but pretty cool you got the "old" one looking great. Really cool idea with the knobs. Pretty wild how the steering pump drives off the back of the generator. Thanks for another really cool knowledge dump Don. ✌️

    • @donshotrodgarage1717
      @donshotrodgarage1717  10 месяцев назад

      Thanks BW! I had to really work that tank to straighten the debts out. Should like fine with a little filler on it. The power steering on the back of the generator was a new setup for 1955. 1954 Chevys had the power steering setup on the bottom of the steering column and the gear box. It's a very wild setup. Have a good one Buddy

    Great update Don! We have 2 tri five PS pumps listed here. One that has a nice tank for $100 and another one still attached with the generator for $500. I can check with my Nomad buddy to see if he has a spare too. That radio knob idea is ingenious! It really adds some great detail to the dash! I hope you guys have a great Easter! Take care Don!

    Pinholes in the tank? Might try gas tank sealer. I just finished up a bunch of antique railroad lanterns and truck smudge pot/flares. Taped up the outsides poured in the sealer. Repaired holes up to a quarter inch round.

    It's looking good. If you want on the power stearing metal, if you clean it well, then you could solder the metal and then coat it. Remember, there is always a way, and it's all in the details.

    Don I like the camaro you bought but in hindsight I think you should've totally paid attention to the 55 convertable you've wasted money on other cars and parts which I totally understand but the convertable should be gone through til the end that car finished in a beautiful black with red guts or a bright red would've been way smarter as you know not a lot of 55 chevy convertables around shit you see ten times more 55 nomads than convertables you should've spent the money on the paint job instead im sure you must know some joe blow who does half decent paint jobs for a decent price you bought another car yes the camaros nice but it took much needed money from the 55 convertable try to get it painted this summer

    • @donshotrodgarage1717
      @donshotrodgarage1717  10 месяцев назад +3

      I appreciate your point of view! I do all my own work and will be doing the paint job as well on the convertible. I'm not in a rush to get this car done. I enjoy the time I spend working on the car and getting it fixed back up. If I have 4 nomads and a 55 convertible and a 96 ss camaro convertible and a full running Dumpster company money is not holding this convertible back. I'll keep fixing it up as I have time to. Later 👍
