- Former IBF Super Middleweight Champion Caleb "Sweethands" Plant scored a knock out against two-time WBC Super Middleweight Champion Anthony "The Dog" Dirrell on the undercard of the Deontay Wilder vs. Robert Helenius pay-per-view at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on October 15, 2022. Though Dirrell landed some good punches, and stayed in the fight for eight full rounds, Plant knocked out Dirrell in the ninth round, bringing Plant's new record to 22-1 (13 KOs).

Its like Plant okie doked him into thinkin he had a opening to land some......and then he woke up 20 mins later..
It was delayed his his left hook still got there faster than derrels
Dirrell wasn't defensively smart in that moment. He should have took a few steps backwards after his vision had been obscured because there is no telling what's coming next.
I am not a Floyd fan but, he is exceptional at thinking ahead by anticipating where his opponent is going to strike. He wouldn't have opened himself up like that.
@@User2jn 100% agree. Dirrell made a bad mistake there and paid for it. He decided to hook at the wrong time and left himself completely exposed on the right side...and that was all she wrote. I don't think the trap from Plant was outrageously special, but that Dirrell simply made a mistake at the exact wrong moment.

Fighting Canelo is the best thing Plant has done for his career. The man earned a lot of experience, tremendous respect from the fans and has now seemingly developed a mean streak backed by the belief that nobody can do any worse to him than Canelo already has.

Well of course he is, Canelo is a juiced up lightheavy weight 😅 you can’t go off that.
just because Canelo fold him like a lawnchair doesn't mean he's weakling. he's fighting a prime Canelo in his best weight of course he's bound to lose to him. but people think Plant just have a pillow fists because he's barely knocking anyone out, but he's pretty good on playing it safe while rocking his opponents at the same time.
Right before the KO, I made a comment to some buddies that if Caleb sat down on his punches he would stop Dirrell. Plant was pushing him back all fight when he landed clean.
I was at this Fight. That Knockout was Crazy. When I saw Dirrell hit the Canvas I was in Shock. I didn’t know Plant could hit like that now cuz that was Vicious.
His timing on that was perfect… Throws the left to the body then hesitates just a second then comes up from crouch with a left hook just before dirrel fired his
That was just a mistake made by Dirrel, Plant got lucky. more like a fluke

Caleb Plant is one of my current favorite fighters. A clean puncher and moves well. Gave Canelo a good fight. This one here is one of his best fights.
