Hands down the best scenery I've ever seen. Wow.

I like this. I like the layouts where the train itself is the focal point and not the layout it self.

The scenery was amazing and the natural light gave it a very realistic feel.

Absolutely some of the best scenery I've seen yet! It's style and proportions capture the look and feel of the C&O perfectly...tall trees and mountains, small companies and houses, rock walls and tunnels...perfect!

Thanks for the come back on the switches. There is a possibility the PARF layout will be rebuilt, if so want to do it better, and switches were a problem in the past.
By the way "awestruck" is when one has no words, aughstruck is the sound (augh)one makes when they hit the floor. I hunt and peck the keyboard. Woops!

tsbnh0 Thank you. Ted has gone to great lengths to get the scenery correct. When you walk into his layout room, you say YES. The locos were weathered by Ken Dasaro from photos that Ted sent.

Ted's C&O looks great as always. I loved seeing this. Great photography. I hope you will do another with the CTC at Alleghaney when it is operational.
BTW many of the switches were built by Ted using Fast Tracks jigs.

This video shows up in my recommendations every so often, and I always have to watch it every time. As someone who has lived around this area all his life and is actually within about a 45 minute or less drive of most of the towns portrayed on this layout and visits them fairly regularly, I can say for sure that you definitely nailed the look of this place. The trees, the steep cliffs, the rocky outcroppings in the mountains, it's all dead on! If I had to point out one thing, it's that the old coaling tower in Thurmond is square and not round like the one in the video. However, the shell of the Hinton coaling tower still stands and it's round like the one in this video, as is the one in Ronceverte. Nit-picky I know but I figured since you are so adamant about getting everything as accurate as possible you might be interested. Anyways, awesome work!

Wow! Everything is amazing! I don;t know how much I would do so I can use my ho trains here. I have track and everything, but not enough room in my home! D: I own a large consist of stock, 1 2-4-2 steam engine by Canadian Pacific, a small 2-4 steam engine by Santa Fe, a EMD-60 by Chessie System, a small shunter, and another steam engine. I own loads of scenery, including a few collectibles. :) I don't know where I'm gonna put all my trains. They don't run all the way around when I think of a layout and build it. ):

A gorgeous video! Only a couple times did the passenger train go a bit too fast for the camera to catch and blurred a bit, but even that looked good. I saw a Shay back hiding that needs to be featured! Shays are my favorites. Was Floquil Sea Green or something similar to tie together the town's paint scheme? And do i see Magnusen buildings? Well done, and thanks for posting!

Switches are a combination of walthers and micro engineering. I am not sure about the trees. I believe they are a combination of Super Trees and home made trees. The manufacture of the trees Im not sure of, but pretty sure they are called SuperTrees.

Unlike many other model railroaders, they run their trains at realistic speeds.
