    I even spoke with Guy a 2-3 weeks back and he made last minute changes to my knives I received. If you’re reading these reviews I just would like to say great job, Guy!!

    Guy, you rock! I really appreciate your attention to detail and commitment to customer service. I called a few days ago and you spent 20 min talking to me about the 5.1, steels, scales, and hardware. I can’t wait to hold the new 5.1. True works of art and love!

    I really like my GSO 6.0. I honestly think that the SURVIVE! knives design is probably the most functional and do it all bushcraft knife.

    Those 5.1's look amazing! Doing your own in house production really paid off. Can't wait to feel my 12 in hand

    Great video, I liked the sheath comparison old to newI have a question about the heat treat for your magnacut, what is the heat treat RC range you try to achieve, do you basically hold to Larrin Thomas type numbers? 👍🏻🇺🇸

      I was wondering about this also.

      Thanks so much! On the Magnacut heat treat, we're aiming for right around 62-62.5HRC, with a double cryo and triple tempering incorporated into the process. For an outdoor knife we feel this is a well balanced approach and will give you great edge holding and high relative toughness in this new stainless grade.

    Thanks for the comparison, Guy. I love my old spec 10 but confess the newer model shows thought and innovation. Any updates on the 4?

      The GSO-4 blades should be back in house from heat treat soon. Sending blades the whole way across the country isn't always the easiest thing to plan around, especially recently with all the freight issues, but the job that Peters' Heat Treating does with blade hardening is some of the very best in the industry and worth the extra effort. We'll have some updates for you as soon as they land on our floor.

    Is the tang under the handle scales solid or skeletonized?

    • @Surviveknives
      @Surviveknives  2 года назад +2

      Most all of our knives have a solid tang. We only have a few very small knives, like the GSO-3 or Necker 2 as examples, that have skeletonized tangs.

    These little improvements made this knife in to one heck of a beast and I really like the improved sheath

    Can I send my GSO-5s in for microtexturing the handles and adding a firesteel notch?

    • @Surviveknives
      @Surviveknives  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hey buddy, I can for sure do that as soon as we are a bit more caught up. Right now it would just sit on my grinding bench and collect dust, I just need a minute, but I've got you.

    To Survive; GSO-6 or the GSO-4.7 as a all around woods knife?

    • @Surviveknives
      @Surviveknives  Год назад

      If you want something more compact I would go with the GSO-4.7. If size/weight are less of an issue or you have large hands I would go with the GSO-5.1 or GSO-6.

    Thanks for putting out this video and keeping folk informed as I know there are a lot of anxious customers out there looking forward to their lon awaited blades. Excellent tools, and, at least for me, well worth the wait!!
