Very “Beck”.. but thankfully different from the endless generic hip hop/pop “songs” that most tutorials feature..it grabs you right away..and you pushing the emotional instead of straight technical info..brilliant!

It's very helpful to see someone go through the process of mixing a song. It makes so much more sense now. You're a great teacher. This gives me hope that I can learn how to mix songs. I would like to become a mixing engineer.

36:27 The widening of the vocals here goes counter the previous statement at 32:19 saying the verse should be narrow and widen up only in the pre-chorus. I liked it better when the verse was mono.
When you panned guitars did you delay one of them? If yes, how much? Have you done any mix tutorials like this where all the stems are totally dry and you have to start from scratch? Can you please do a start to finish mix of a hard rock or rap song where there is massive arena drums, bass, guitars, and orchestral sounds that have to work with the vocal and massive chorus vocal harmonies?
This is interesting and it's a nice mix. However, where do you draw the line between "mixing" and "producing"? You are doing artistic, producing changes to the mix not just mixing. Did the band agree to you producing their tracks and do you get producer credits? What if the band doesn't like the artistic changes you have made or is planning on having another producer come in on the project? I typically mix live material so artistic changes, except to enhance the live performance, are not part of the mix down. Where do you draw that line?
