Question. We have 1/2" solid bamboo (not engineered and not the click/floating floor kind), it's solid acclimating now. The flooring company where we bought it said it needed to be put down with an 18 gauge cleat nailer. I noticed in the video you used glue. I couldn't tell which kind of bamboo flooring you were putting down. Can you advise me please? Thank you so very much! Oh, and the kind of Bamboo is called Antique Strand Smooth Wide Plank Solid with a 50 year warranty, if that matters.
I'm nailing my solid T&G bamboo floor to 1/4 underlay over slat floorboards. (we have basement & home is well over 200yrs) Home desperate said no glue needed. Should I glue it anyway? Seems like good idea. Thanks great Vid.
I am going to install the first half of a room and move all the furniture back to the finished side, how long should I let the glue set before moving it back onto the finished floor? or how long does the glue need to set all the way?
hi im looking to do bamboo flooring in an out building on my property. it wont be heated and i live in northeast usa. im wondering how well bamboo flooring would hold up during cold winters and hot summers? thank you!
Does bamboo flooring scratch easily when moving furniture or from women's heels? I'm considering using bamboo flooring to replace carpeting in my mobile home. Is this a good idea? It looks like something a women can easily do.
No it does not, but you should always use felt or rubber protectors on the bottom of your furniture, our strand woven bamboo is twice as hard as oak and will not dent with high heels.
I purchased the Home Decorators Bamboo from HD and want to know if I can use this method described in this video? I'm laying the floor over a concrete slab. Is there any special precaution(s) or preparation I need to take into account? thank you for any help!
So you don't need to glue tongue and groove bamboo to the floor, just the joint between the pieces? What about all the videos that say to glue to the floor? I don't understand.
Is it must to put the ply under need the bamboo flooring? if yes, the thickness of ply we should be using is? do we need to keep the min of 10mm gap for the ply also?? will there be any problems, if the flooring is done on top is the room floor heating system installed?? please any one with idea and knowledge advice how to go about it, so i don't face any issues in near future..regards to all readers and suggester ..Jamyang from Bhutan
Hi, it does not have to be a plywood base, as long as it is a flat level load bearing surface it is ok, we do sell a range of UFH compatible floors please check our website for details.
Hi, I need help. I have a bamboo floor installed by someone I thought knows what he is doing. he did not leave the materials in the house for sometime to acclimate to the temperature. It was not glued or nailed. just float it. we went on vacation for 37 days, we shut off the central air conditioner. when we came back from vacation, the floor panels were raised and buckled. it came out of its tongue and groove lengthwise. I need your wisest advise what to do. thanks
Hi, I have just had a bamboo floor fitted, as the one above, but on concrete. It was floated as your video and glued with wood pva glue. I noticed the installers did not put spacers down the sides. The floor does not look very good, there are large gaps between the planks in some areas, altho others are tight together. Already these gaps are filling with dirt and dust and do not look nice at all. When i mentioned to the installer he just said, yes it has spread overnight but that is what happens with tongue and groove, you should have bought a clicklock wood. Is this true? I dont really know what to do, any advice please?
NO, you need to get the fitter back to rip it up and install again, if they fitted it correctly they would have left the spacers in around the edges so i could not move until the glue had dried, then the follwoing day remove the spacers, then you would have a completed floor with no gaps all glued together correctly.
I watched this muted, but I know exactly what you mean. Too many people include unnecessary music to their videos thinking that it makes it more entertaining.
Steven, Thank you for your comment, you are correct if you are fitting wood, but this is bamboo and it is as stable as an engineered wood floor and can be floated by gluing the joints.
I bought bamboo wood for my flooring. Would you recommend glue or nail gun ??? it is going upstair master room on wood . I strip the carpet and everthing that comes underneath it. Any help would be appreciated. thanks
If it is a click system, you should make sure the sub-floor is level and dry then put an underlay down and click the flooring together no glue or nails needed, see our click video: How to Install Uniclic Bamboo Flooring
Is this method on a synthetic or engineered bamboo floor?
This is solid bamboo

dadrules714 HI if you are nailing you do not require glue, but it will not do any harm if you do. It will give added protection from any water spills.

Sir what kind of blade used to rip cut the bamboo wood planks?is stick blade of table saw worked?

Can the guitar music. The words are what is important. Explain the orientation of first roll of boards and why. What kind of glue?
Normally you lay in the line of the greatest light source, the Glue is WPVA that meets the requirements of EN 204 (D3)

Hi, yes you can lay like the video, you just need to make sure the concrete slab is dry and free from any damp.
So you don't need to glue tongue and groove bamboo to the floor, just the joint between the pieces? What about all the videos that say to glue to the floor? I don't understand.
You can do either method with bamboo, you can glue directly to the sub floor with flexible flooring adhesive without using underlay
The narrator sounds like the guy from the channel who put up a video series on making a single phase to 3-phase power converter.

+Loreta Hom Need to take it up and do it again, use the proper gaps between the wall and flooring
yup the person that installed it didnt leave a quater inch around the walls like they should have
The floor I have says it’s a glue down. Bamboo 0.47 tongue n groove. Is it ok to install the way you did here.
If the flooring you have tells you to glue it down then you must follow the their instructions, did you buy the flooring from us?
Hi replicantplanet, you must use PVA that meets the requirements of EN 204 (D3) if you check the side of your bottle it should have this on it.
Hi is gluing better than nailing or or both ?
You only use glue when floating, it is never recommended to nail through underlay
Doesn't this floor need 1/2" spacers? It looks like 1/4" were used here.
Should you start on one side or in the middle of the room?
+Jason Ranson Always from one side
one side, you only start in the middle if you are laying parquet block herringbone flooring

Hi Team, in terms of durability is the tongue and groove bamboo flooring as durable as natural bamboo flooring?
hi the tongue and groove bamboo is natural bamboo.
Can I use a standard pva glue with bamboo? thanks
you need to use WPVA that conforms to European standard BS EN 204 D3
What kind of glue?
WPVA

*How to Install Bamboo **#Flooring** (Tongue & Groove):*
Please turn off your back ground music.
I watched this muted, but I know exactly what you mean. Too many people include unnecessary music to their videos thinking that it makes it more entertaining.
i would have glued them directly to the cement
Hi Miles, the floor is chipboard not cement, also this is a demo to show how to float the flooring.
If this is a solid floor then dont agree with gluing the floor together.

Can hardly hear you for the music. Useful otherwise.
Sketchy application
Thank you for your kind words.
Annoying music.
