Pangkor does look nice, especially being close enough to KL. Glad you guys got to experience the Perhentian Islands - some of the nicest water we ever swam in!
thank you for traveling around Malaysia! Hope you guys enjoyed your time here although it's been in an awkward timing due to the pandemic. Fyi, some extra info for you guys. Pangkor Island (most of the western side of the Peninsular of Malaysia) aren't known for clear sea water like the Perhentian Island (the eastern side). It's because the western side aka Straits of Malacca is heavily used by ships, plus the seawater gets stuck in between Malaysia and Indonesia. Whereas the eastern side, is just a big open area towards the South China Sea. I have personally been to Redang Island (very near to Perhentian Island) and absolutely loved the clear seawater there! Once again, thank you for sharing your journey with us! Have a lovely and safe travels wherever you guys may be! =)
@@snailtravelers I understand your situation. Hopefully someday in the future (when everything calms down) you guys would consider about Sabah, the east-most side of Malaysia. It has beautiful islands and great mountains too. =) Nonetheless, safe travels you guys. Cheers!
Wow.. really admire both of you to seek and experience the best of each destination and sharing with us.. as always cannot get enough of the length from both your monthly vlogs
We have been seeing the news about tourists needing to Malaysia soon. We wish you the best with traveling to your next destination and hope all goes smoothly 🤞
Thanks! Not sure if you're still following the Malaysia Facebook group, but it's panic mode, once again. I think you guys left at the right time, avoiding all the confusion.
@@snailtravelers We are and have been keeping tabs. Definitely chaotic and panic mode. We had a feeling after the New Years situation that we should leave sooner than later on our own terms.
@@helenisaac3576 Tourists who had expired social visit passes since the pandemic were allowed to stay until the end of MCO without penalty or need to visit immigration. After New Years, there was some uncertainty around the continuation of allowing tourists to stay until immigration clarified it a few days later. Now it was announced that all tourists need to leave by April 21 unless they can’t find a flight out or have a special reason, even though MCO is continuing. www.google.com/amp/s/www.malaymail.com/amp/news/malaysia/2021/04/12/expired-social-visitor-pass-holders-need-to-leave-malaysia-before-april-21/1965963
I used to do day trip annually to Pangkor during my school days back in the 80s as it's not so far from my parents house in Ipoh. In 1992, I went camping with 3 of my university friends at Teluk Nipah beach. It was empty and the only accommodation available at that time was a few A-shape rooms but the operator was nowhere to be seen. Had to walk back and forth in the darkness to Pasir Bogak for 8km round trip just for a dinner. Woke up in the morning and saw a turtle just laid her egg by the beach near our tent. One of my best memories of Pangkor trip and haven't been there for nearly 30 years already.
Wow, what a great experience on Pangkor you had. How wonderful to see a turtle in the wild! It sounds like it has changed a lot since you were there. Thanks for watching our videos!
Thanks. We watched your videos about Pangkor when you were in Malaysia, and that was part of the reason we decided to go there ourselves. Such a beautiful place!
Miss Pangkor Island too. Mb can Visit Selayang 20 mins away KL city, go to FRIM skywalk, templer park waterfall and hot spring. Also can visit orang asli village and taste fresh seafood . Let me know if you come
So glad that you both had so much fun and enjoyed your stay in the state of Perak .. there are many other places there which one of them is the bamboo chalet by the riverside of the orang asli near sungai siput .. not sure about the address but it is good .. also sad to hear that you might be leaving us for another country .. I hope you can stay longer here with us .. anyway please take care and stay safe always .. ✌💕🐈💕
Sad to hear that you are leaving Malaysia. If you are interested to continue to stay in this country for a long time i.e. 10 years, you can consider Malaysia My Second Home (mm2h) program. Cheers
Thank you for this suggestion! We were hoping to apply for MM2H and were working with an agent when the MM2H program was shut down. Our agent says that it should restart soon, so that is good. Thank you!
Pangkor island is my favourite place for fishing.....if you look into the google earth there is an island name "Pulau Sembilan" just near Pangkor or in english meaning there is another 9 island's over there....that places is amazing for fishing but there is no facilities for tourist only fisherman will go there
Thank you for the wonderful videos in Malaysia. They are enjoyable, inspiring and informative too! Am sad that both of you are leaving soon but I will look forward to your new videos, wherever you are.
remember that u go for the boarding at the river and that man you said his name is Iskandar....just small sharing, in english Iskandar name is similar with Alexander.....Ibrahim + Abraham.....Musa + Moses.....Isa + Jesus....Sulaiman + Solomon....
The water in the cave that you were traversing over in the dark? That just happens to be the best quality water in Malaysia and probably one of the best in the world. It's water that's made its way through the crevices of the limestone hill, infused as it does with rich mineral nutrients, before finding its way into the rivers and creeks nearby. Together with water that emanates from the multitude of limestone clump hills surrounding Ipoh, a lot of these waters rich in minerals will eventually seep into the earth throughout the valley in which Ipoh is situated and some of these eventually make its way to selected locations such as the Buntong area in Ipoh which is famous for the cultivation of the Ipoh bean sprouts. If you ask around Ipoh, you might just be able to locate a friendly local who could hook you up with one of these bean sprout growers in Buntong. You will be amazed how this same water literally sprouts from the soil in the ground in those lucky areas and that's the water that's used to cultivate the famous succulent Ipoh bean sprouts. Yes, thats' right! Some of the best bean sprouts in Ipoh were grown with FREE water from mother earth itself! How awesome is that???
We didn't get to visit Kuala Kangsar. We were planning to do a day trip from Ipoh but it was when interdistrict travel was not allowed due to MCO. Next time!
I stayed at the Fish House too and fed some of the giant fishes. But how on earth did you manage to travel in Malaysia with all the Pandemic MCOs (Movement Control Orders)?
Sorry for the delayed response to your question. At the time we were in Ipoh we were allowed to travel within the state of Perak, we just couldn't leave the state due to MCO. So this allowed us to visit both Taiping and also Pangkor. Thanks for watching!
Sadly, I was expecting this announcement from you. When I read the news yesterday, the first people that came into my mind were you both. However I was quite optimistic that you would extend your Visas, as the local authorities did say those with genuine reasons can apply for extension with the support of your local embassy. I do hope you apply for an extension with the support of the US Embassy. You can show them your videos and prove to them that you are actually helping the local tourism industry by spending USD in Malaysia in the current pendemic. I am sure that that is good enough a reason to extend your Visas. There are still lots of places which you have not covered, including KL and Selangor. In any case, should you be leaving Malaysia for whatever reasons, then I wish you both all the very best in wherever you go or whatever you do. I must emphasize that I really enjoyed every single one of your videos and have learnt a lot about my own country from a couple from the other side of the world. I will be happy to know how I can contact you besides leaving comments on the comment section of the RUclips. Thanks.
Thank you so much for this nice comment and good suggestions. We will miss Malaysia when we leave, whenever that is. You can contact us at snailtravelers@gmail.com. Thanks again for watching our videos!
I'm laughing because bloggers and others have destroyed a beautiful island. Spent many weekends there in 1979. NOT the same. Old people late to the show.
