This frame is sold under many brand names. I plan to use one for my next ebike conversion. I'll use the frame and wheels, and throw the rest in a dumpster.

Seems legit to me it's a solid frame and wheels it's really all you can ask for when on a budget...most of the time it's all I want cause everything must be upgraded. I rather start with just a frame if I can but buying a complete bike is cool too you get to beat on it before the upgrades.

You took the words out of my mouth.

Anyway thanks for the video will look out for more.

Good work..I totally get your impressions..I also bought a cheap hard tail fatbike.. Iam constantly looking for a qualty used fat frame/bike .you will find most of your upgrades in one place.. my biggest disappointment with the cheap buy is the limited front suspension choices I have that is caused by the straight steerer any way its a known compromise is what it is.. thanks for posting

I have the same bike and did some changes as well and now it thinks its actually "Ok" I changed the bars to nukeproof neutron 800mm and a neutron 40mm stem. A set of tektra hydraulic brakes. Binned the front derailleur and Cranket for a suntour single with 38 teeth. I swapped the cassette from a 12-28 to a 14-34 and a drop hanger to get it to fit. Changed the seat and next on my list a single sram changer.
I did fit a bafang to an old GT avalanche and that's a great bit of kit. The gear cut off is essential addition if you don't want a snapped chain. It's also a good plan not to pull away from the lights at full throttle in a high gear. The cassette wasn't up to it.

I have seen these similar bikes on eBay for around £290, I guess if your just using the frame and wheels it's ok, I thought used fat bikes would be cheap, but they aren't.
Depends how far you are taking this build if your changing the drive train, maybe consider a Shimano alfine geared hub, they go up to 11 speed, I seen a guy on EMBN use one on his bike they look great, only downside for me is that don't work on thru Axel unless you want to spend a fortune. I found an 11 speed online for £169 so not bad really, interesting video 👍

There was some cheaper ones on eBay but they had a smaller area where the battery goes and they had the wheels that have cut outs in them if you know what I mean 👍

Having used an original 7-speed Mongoose Dolomite from Walmart (USA) back in 2014 ($225 US) then "Franken-modded" to a 21-speed & a Mega-Range Shimano rear cassette. . . This would be a good "intro" just to get an idea of rolling-mass inertia, etc.
I've done a 32(+)-mile round-trip (Montana, USA (Three Forks, MT to Madison Buffalo Jump State Park & back) on a mixed paved/gravel (NO WAY a 2"-wide tire would have rolled the freshly graded gravel portions!) route on 04July2916.) on such a bike. The 4"+ (Vee-8s) tires kept me up on the loose gravel w/a center rib to lower drag on any pavement. The large ring of the Mega-Range Shimano rear cassette allowed plenty of low-end torque for loose surfaces or uphills.
I was running dropped bars to "tuck in" & "buck wind" (as well as multiply hand positions!) w/wing extensions. The heavier "rolling mass" of the solid rims & large tires & tubes allowed less perceived effort once "up too speed" on the route.
A similar ride to Lewis & Clark Caverns earlier on the summer had yielded these preliminary results. (My mixed surfaces on this ride were to avoid heavy Tourist automobile traffic on the paved.routes!)
I had setup some traditional mountain bikes (1993 Schwinn High Plains) as Touring bikes. The fatbike was less effort to "maintain" (think flywheel mass?) once up to cruising speed. :)

Cool video , I dont know much about fat bikes so this is Interesting
Ive looked at getting one but there doesnt seem to be much call for after market parts , like better wheels , tyres etc , everyone seems to like them but its never really caught on for some reason
Also the frames are usually hard tail , and very few models have duel crown type forks so it kind of limits the way you could bridge the MTB vs Moped gap If your into customising things and adding a motor
Shame but when these bikes first came about i thought "Yeah , get one of them and put an Ebike kit and have a nice mini motorbike!!" I suppose that would be too easy , and I actually believe its an industry that will finally be big but at the moment It could probably cripple the usual bike sales
who knows ? thats just my opinion
Im also shocked at the way your bike is joined , wow ! have they flattened the rear triangle pipes and filled them with weld , then run the joint across the seat post stem ?? well Its probably stronger than most but on a budget ect , Oh my , well this is why I like watching your videos , every time there is plenty of camera detail and the explanations are very thorough
    Cheers

There's a few duel crown type forks on aliexpress, not sure on the quality of them but they are probably better than the forks on the bike at the moment.

It's a shame you couldn't weld I used to be a welders fabricator I can tack! The reason I say this Is because if you got some steel tubeing and a bender you could make your own frame the Crank you can weld on! This is your vocation mate I watch avidly and for years I've wanted to build the correct frame for my size so if in the future you want a bike that is built for only you Im sure you could get the drawing board filled with frame designs of battery capacity maximized inside said frames this would be a influential education to us!!You never know you could be designing the next icon!

I'm more impressed with a 26x4.0 fat tire e bike I got from amazon!😆lol...1000w, 48v, 15.6ah, 748.8wh, 30°, 75nm, 31mph top speed with out pedaling .only thing that I didn't like where the brakes, for something that big and fast I feel they should have bin Hydraulic brakes......but...BUT best part iI forgot to mention was the price NEW $680 to my front door after taxes delivery and all. Had it 1month (no more than 2) I've put 300+ miles into it no problems probably 200+ of them miles pulling 2 kids buke don't feel over loaded and have reached speeds of 27mph pulling them(will go faster) With just throttle.i would like to compare it to more expensive ones to see if it's really worth spending the $1500+ extra
