I find the biggest mystery the origins of the 'vertex' their true nature and if there's a relationship with the Shinjuku. The reflection that sonoko just did implies she knows something about it. I really hope the taisha gets a new order and direction somehow, miraculously because they are a cult very secretive, merciless and threatening to everyone who opposes them. I think in season 2 the cast will get access to their records

"If we tell them the truth, they won't do this thing that we need them to do in order to keep the system going." In a sense they can't fathom anyone being selfless enough to accept the truth _and_ keep the system going, whether it's out of harm reduction or some other form of "greater good". Taisha is a victim of its own power structure. It _had_ to be quite authoritarian because the beginning of the Divine Era was plagued with insurrection and terrorist attacks while the adults still remembered the outer world. So they became unyielding, whatever Shinju said through Taisha became the law. The problem with that was, once that rigidity was no longer necessary, they became unable to think outside the box and consider the possibility that the Heroes _would_ willingly fight despite knowing the full truth.
