"she had a change of heart and is now struggling with the fact that lawrence is pregnant" I don't know why I had to laugh, but it's one step at a time for penny.
I’m happy that this short film has an all trans cast, it’s not very common seeing as most trans short films have every character a cis person who doesn’t really understand our experiences.
I have a MTF friend (im FTM) and i love her to pieces, i want the best for her and my other trans friends ftm or mtf or even nbs!! and its so upsetting how the women community and other people who dont understand treat them like we just humans tryina live, bro. So seeing this in my insta feed and checking it out made me really happy :)
I'm trans and I'll admit it's still one I struggle with but that's as an asexual who is never having kids because 1) I want to see the world, not be tied down by "adulting", a kid would basically make my lifestyle impossible and tie me down to "gotta raise them somewhere" 2) I personally wouldn't bring a kid into this world with climate change. Won't judge anyone for doing so but I just personally won't.
Lmaooo I thought the women who was being transphobic was the trans women for the first minute edit: I realize they’re all trans now but imma leave my comment
I fear we need a sequel where Penny accepts Lawrence's pregnancy, for the benefit of the people who say "I'm not transphobic, but..." 😔 Awesome film though, and I think I'll need using the line about the 80s wanting their homophobic logic back! ♥
I'm transgender and it hurts to see a transgender mtf person getting told there not a real woman when I'm transgender ftm, I also love the ending because the guy is transgender ftm like me
I love this, we all face transphobia everyday whether through the media or online and being ftm I know how dangerous it is for trans women especially trans women of color. They are so strong and Inspire me so much because if they can go through what they do and still be such beautiful women inside and out, I know that I can survive whatever I go through as a trans man as well ❤️
Where was this shot? The houses on the road with the steep hill remind me of Newfoundland. But they call 999 at the end so I'm assuming it's somewhere in the UK?
This is honestly really well made. It shows that some people might be transphobic but can change, as can anyone. Thank you for this gem, it deserves a lot more attention though.
was it just me but i saw this on snap and no i’m not LGBTQ i support tho 😳👏🏾👏🏾 so if ur LGBTQ i got u if this happens to u i got u jo matter what gender we are we should always have each other’s back so yeah and ion gaf what people think of u, you are amazing no matter what and ilu 😗✌🏾
As a trans kid, I used to be fascinated with pregnancy, but as I grew up, went through puberty and eventually realized I was fertile and capable of pregnancy myself, as a trans man, I developed tokophobia. It honestly gets worse and worse every day. I can't look a seahorse dad straight in the eye without feeling dysphoric and nauseous, even though I know that's a horrible thing to think, and I know I don't have the rights, nor am I in the place to decide that, but in my opinion, trans men shouldn't get pregnant or birth.
@_BlackwhiteWings_ I'm also tokophobic but people have the right to do whatever they want with their bodies. It's great you're acknowledging that, but you've gotta work out some of that inner stuff out
@@perfidiousprophet yeah, it's prolly connected to the transphobic ideologies my mom literally spoon fed me from the very first second I discovered LGBTQ+
I liked it . it's great that Penny is able to change her opinion on something she is so convinced of. unfortunately this doesn't happen often in reality. many people are afraid to look at the world from another point of view and change their mind.
Fantastic! Worth the wait! I enjoyed the film a lot. very funny to see Lewis as a drunk deadbeat! The film was a lot shorter and a lot quieter than I expected from the preview. Fantastic performances all around. Would love to see more future films with an all trans cast, even better would be an all trans cast in a story that is centered around something other than trans and gender identity. Great job My Genderation team,Fox,Lewis,Owl+all others!
Trans women are so lovely, and I love seeing these films!! I wish my mother would become alright with trans people, at least to where she is going to support me.
I love that you guys are still making videos, I remember the first time I saw “Just Like You”, it was when I still thought I was a straight girl. You guys actually played a big part in me figuring out who I am (a pan trans guy) and it’s great you guys are still doing this
This was a really well-done short film. I think it perfectly displays the process of others accepting trans individuals, while not being afraid to show how hurtful the initial pushback can be.
You weren’t born as an adult but look time passed and now you are an adult. Just because you were born a baby doesn’t mean you’ll always stay that way.
OH LORD I'm so happy I had wanted to watch this short film as soon as I saw the trailer, and I must say I am so happy it to have watched it, it's amazing! (Just a bummer I didn't receive the notification and had to find out about it 4 days later, ugh) It's honestly amazingly well made, I love the little references here and there and how much you've conveyed in such a short amount of time. I don't know if it was intentional, but Penny having to overcome the fence in between their yards to come to Chloe's side (and her struggling to do so but pushing through to go help a neighbour- no, a friend) was really emotional for me. I just wish my mum had this moment for my brother. Anyway, the only thing I'm a bit bummed about is that we never got to hear Penny actually apologise. A line along the way of "I'm sorry Chloe, I now understand how my words may have hurt you. I was in the wrong, and I'm sorry." Other than that, it was amazing! A real rollercoaster of emotions (from anger, to sadness, fear, and finally reconciliation), truly a great short film!
I am incredibly grateful that you all put this film together. It touches my heart. This is the kind of content that I need to find when I am on RUclips. With so much opposition to folks like us, this is really good medicine for my psyche. Good luck on your next film!
This is actually one of my favorite endings. Because it shows that you don’t need to be over the top to show support. Nor do you need to understand the topic entirely. Allowing it to just be, to just exist. It’s as she said “I just don’t know” and it’s okay to not know, it’s okay to not understand how you feel yet, because not knowing means that you’re thinking, you’re reflecting, and that’s better than blindly hating. That was a great short film, amazing job to everyone involved. 👏
First, I got angry, and then, a beautiful thing happened! The turnaround that happened with the lady made me feel SO GOOD! Thanks for the wonderful video. 💖👧
I like that you had Penny learn and grow over time instead of automatically accepting it. It shows that shes actually taking time to learn about our community and our experiences and that acceptance is a learned behavior.
Honestly, I never cry. But when I watched this I just started balling. It hurt so much when Penny talked like that, but at the end when she started to except her... I want that.

People can change, if they want to. I have a very close friend that when I first met him had very openly anti lgbt views. He comes from a conservative religious background and had little to no contact with any lgbt people. We weren't friends at the time but he mentioned something lgbt negative online in a conversation and got jumped on by loads of people. I Jumped in to defend him. "I do not agree with his opinions at all, this affects me personally but please don't attack him guys, he is entitled to his views and opinions even if we don't agree with them, please let it drop" That was the moment that he saw for the first time that lgbt people are not just raving loonatics, it flicked a switch that got him thinking. Eventually he ended up in a friend group. A group that currently has 6 trans fem members including me one gay guy, 2 lesbians and a bi person. As well as a few cis and straight people including him. Over time he got to see what lgbt people are really like, what trans people are really like, that we are just people, just trying to live our lives, we really aren't all that different and absolutely not the insane hurtful people that he maybe thought we were. He has since become one of my closest friends and a genuinly supportive person, one of the most supportive people you could ever ask for. Our little group would not be the same without him and I am so glad to have him in my life.
This was such a nice video! So many trans short films are focused on youth/coming out which is fine but it's cool to see some variety. This was really interesting and entertaining and I'm so glad I clicked!

I've had a lot of people say transphobic things in a "polite manner" to me because they genuinely believe I'm evil scum of the earth and they're the good guy. Its face-saving, fabricated respect so they can still feel good about themselves even through the hatred.
This is an amazing film. As a transgender male, I enjoyed this and it had a good message. I love the ending with Lawrence, when it said that he got pregnant

I giggled. I want to see a second one as well!
@johnmburt1960 I'm pretty sure it's an all trans cast, meaning penny is a cis woman being played by a trans woman ;) (wich is awesome imo)
