    Great videos! I have a 2017 MS with FSD it says Full Self Driving computer and
    It has the MCU2 upgrade. But I don’t see live video feed of sentry mode. Is it unavailable for this model year? Wil appreciate your input!

      Unfortunately not, we are in the same boat! Hopefully Tesla will bring us those features someday

    What’s with the camera shake? Is it the mount? I wonder if coil suspension is better or is it worth it to get a 2017 tesla MS with air suspension given the known issues? Would love to hear your thoughts

      It's the mount plus the roads are not level amd lots of expansion joints :( clay here in TX meams things shift a lot
      The coil is cheaper to repair, but the air suspension is pretty cool. I don't regret having coils

    We have the same MS as you!! Was wondering if smart summon has been released or improved for our cars on 12.3.6? I cannot find any information on this. I see the option for it on my app

      Very cool!!! Not yet as of 2024.3.25. The Actually Smart Summon and Banish are supposed to come with v12.4, which should see limited beta next week or so. We *might* get improved Autopark in 2024.14.6, which is rolling out now 😀🤞

    Hey, we have the same car. I'm on 12.3.6 and have experienced sudden unexplainable breaking while on the highway! Did you get that? And It also ignores my wish to change lanes.. do you think we will get 12.4?

    • @FrugalNotCheap
      @FrugalNotCheap  4 месяца назад +1

      Hey! Very cool! Hmm, I haven't experienced any phantom braking on the highway, thankfully. I know that it is still using the v11 stack for highway
      Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the lane change ignoring issue!
      I do think we will get 12.4, 12.5, and 12.6 etc, because they were able to give us 12.3 - but it might be slower since there are few cars with our configuration and they need to validate safety

    I'm confused Dan. Didn't you have autopark in your last FSD video? Did they remove it?

    • @FrugalNotCheap
      @FrugalNotCheap  5 месяцев назад +1

      Legacy S/X have had autopark for many, many years, but it's slow. There is a new vision-based autopark that is better and we don't have it just yet

    In forcing a lane change, You are overriding FSD. In that case, disengage and make the lane change yourself. Has your Tesla actually made contact with the curb or does it make you uncomfortable?

    • @FrugalNotCheap
      @FrugalNotCheap  5 месяцев назад +1

      No no no, initiating a lane change using turn signal has always and continues to be a feature. You don't want to disengage, that's unsafe.
      Thankfully, no curb rash for me! 🙂

      @@FrugalNotCheap My point is that if you are initiating lane changes manually you are not using FSD as intended. The testing should evaluate it as if it is a robo taxi. The main critique is if it is safe. Manually disengaging is not dangerous.

      @@FrugalNotCheapI wish they extend this feature to turns as well.

    • @FrugalNotCheap
      @FrugalNotCheap  4 месяца назад

      Someone on X claimed it will take a turn, but I haven’t tested it, either with a destination in the nav (less likely to work) or without one. If I go anywhere today, I'll give it a go. Have you tried?

  • @Imunderpar4win

    It doesn't seem to want to make the lane change - there are cars in that lane

    • @FrugalNotCheap
      @FrugalNotCheap  5 месяцев назад +1

      It really doesn't want to make a lane change that doesn't go along with the navigation directions, new in 12.3.6 but was fine in 12.3.4

    Your car doesn't have the updated cameras and chip set needed. Your car is outdated. You won't get good results.

    • @FrugalNotCheap
      @FrugalNotCheap  5 месяцев назад +2

      The cameras are same as all HW3 cars, and the same is true for the FSD computer. The new HW4 cars are running HW3 in emulation mode
