@@LateModelGarage I love your channel I'm getting into a fwd this season a crate or sportsman late model is my long term goal for me and my son to have a hobby you don't have to give me an exact number but whats the affordability with this late model I mean can an average 7 to 4 Joe on an average salary afford this I mean I wouldn't race every weekend my job has a rotating weekend schedule so 2 Saturdays a month maybe a few week day events if we have them Im not really into this for the competition just for fun my dad ran a steelhead for years and my son really loves late models any advice would be greatly appreciated for a novice getting into it I'm a welder I'm not rich or anything

We started off running FWD cars about 10 years ago. The move up expense was off set by trading all our FWD stuff for some late model big $ items. We had to sit on our car for several months before the right offer came along. Building a car out like we do is probably the most expensive way. But, we get to make sure everything is right and the way we want it. You could buy a car just like ours (roller with 602) that needs a seat and belts for about 10-12k. That being said there are not many people, including Drew and myself, that can peel that type of cash. The Mastersbilt car was purchased for 350.00 as a bare frame. We just saved up each week doing side work and such to buy all the needed items. We will end up with over 10k in this car b4 race day, and will be lucky to finish in the top 5 most nights. If you want to win you better be ready to fork out up to 15-20k to get up front. Race within your means and have fun!!!!!

@@LateModelGarage thanks for the info and yeah I never really plan on even being top five me and my son just like late models so it's more about the garage time with my boy and having a little fun on a Saturday I think I can afford that and I understand I'm just a blue collar guy I have a friend that helps me with the racing stuff I try to do things without getting involved with sponsorship cause it's just more of a hobby really love y'all's channel and can't wait to see that new car hit the track keep the videos coming 👍👍👍

Before you bender up, use a plumb bob and mark your suspension attach points on your garage floor along with the main cage intersections so
you can bring them back When they get moved...;^) ....use something other than chalk......Keep good records, and the height from the floor of all
supports and mount holes.....Homemade chassis jig, man hours not bucks....
