Im that person that just played rdr 2 .i was about 4 or 5 years late on that game but while im enjoying it for the 1st time everyone else isnt anymore. Loved that game .
Collecting figures based on rule of cool is a regular occurrence for me, I don’t have any interest in Golden Axe but I bought the Storm Collectibles Axe Battler, Tyris, and Death Adder because I love classic sword and sorcery stuff. Buy what looks cool and make up your own backstory.
Wow! A figure I have not seen reviewed for some time. Glad you got a chance to do it! The game was AMAZING CULTURALLY AND HISTORICALLY !!! Great review !
My answer for the question of the day: Well duh, I'd buy a cool looking action figure not only because of the design but also i could make an awsome custom out of the figure. Though for me it has to have good articulation that doesn't look like their limbs are getting torn to pieces
Legends and McFarlane have so many recurring problems that even reviews for those naturally get predictable and samey, so it's genuinely refreshing to see a Figma review. This one has been on my watchlist for some time now so this video is doubly appreciated. Hope you get more to review. Figma's Sekiro might be up your alley, especially if you get one with the notoriously atrocious face QC. And I will be looking forward to your Doomguy review too. Its proportions and articulation look janky as hell so I'd be quite happy if the final product proves me wrong.
Perhaps it would be cool to include two criteria for articulation - 1) overall articulation and 2) articulation accuracy. A figure in samurai armor probably has less overall articulation than something like Spider-man or Naruto, but then again you would not expect a character in full armor to have that level of flexibility.
@@AnthonysCustoms hey it's your channel and you're obviously doing it right with all the views/subs. Just expressing an opinion that having less articulation is not always a negative because if a samurai could bend like a gymnast in a leotard it would break the immersion and realism for me. Love your reviews, thanks for doing the ones that people send you that you don't necessarily feel compelled to buy. They definitely help me to decide what to fork out money on, especially if I'm on the fence about it. Cheers!
I always talk about those kinds of things. The rating is an objective metric based on the effectiveness of the articulation. Whether or not it's a problem for the given character is commented on by me but is ultimately up to each viewer to decide for himself. Know what i mean?
I would agree but jin literally moves around alot also armor is very nimble both European and asian armor are layered to give good range of motion and not feel heavy
I totally agree with you that the "sheated" sword needs to be longer so it doesn't fall off easily, but so you can also post the hands/fingers to show that the sword is slighly unsheated, like the length of the thumb, like you see on some samurai characters do. Great review and I did bought this figure but haven't taken it oob.
This game came with my ps5 and I've almost 100% done. Just started looking to buy this guy and suddenly you review it. Crazy how that works out. Many of the reviews of this guy on yt are not that great so I'm glad the definitive review is now available
Thanks for the review! It looks really good. Nice sculpt, the tattered cape bearing Sakai's family crest is a nice touch. The articulation being limited isn't really a surprise, Figma's Sengoku Batman had similar issues due to the cumbersome samurai armour. For the record the mask isn't supposed to be crooked. Figma always seem to have problems with character faces for some reason, be it Guts, Solid Snake or the Bloodborne Hunter. Answer of the day: depends. Generally speaking I tend to buy the figure only if I like the game and the character. Though sometimes if I really, really like the design but don't care for the source material at all I still might get the figure. Like, say, Gabranth from FF12.
As long as the figure looks cool I'll buy it. I bought a figure at target the other day. Looks super cool. He's from neca. And it's a flash Gordon character. I've never heard of flash Gordon but man the figures are so well done. Hope you pick one up and review it one day
@@randomuser4067 I hope Figma makes another predator ,right now I’m waiting for that sh figuarts tobey maguire to go on pre order at my favorite site Also jada toys Chester Cheeto figure
The details are splendid! He looks so cool in the poses you did. I would buy a figure simply based on cuteness, or I suppose coolness if I knew anything about that. Thanks for another fantastic review Anthony😽💋🤟👏💯
When it comes to realistic human figures I'd always go with a larger scale figure like Hot Toys, well before they left us game fans in the dust for comic and Star Wars characters (still salty about that), so now most of my collection is ThreeA/ThreeZero.
In terms of the question, I'd much rather have an amazing cool looking figure of a series I barely know anything about, rather than a underwhelming figure of a series I love.
I’m a pretty sentimental guy, so I want to have a connection to the source material since it’s my liking of the source material that motivates me to buy the figures. I don’t buy figures from every game/movie that I see. Then again, I have bought figures from sources that I’m not as into. I’m not a huge Overwatch fan, but I love the character designs and Tracer is my favorite character so I bought her Figma. I may get some of the others too
Yes I would...I just started collecting War Hammer 40,000 and I didn't know anything about it but if it's a cool looking detailed and we'll articulated I'm buying
I don't tend to collect figures from franchises that I do not know/like, but if I see something I really, really like, then I'd get it. For instance, I have no connection to Ultraman and I still managed to get two SH Figuarts figures. But they are also super cheap compared to a Figma like that one.
Awesome Thxs for this one I haven’t got around to opening him yet . I think I preordered it like 2 years ago and it showed up lost my excitement for him until I saw your video 😀👍
I gotta say...I'm pretty disappointed with this figure. Some of the parts are just too small and break really easily. They should've scaled these pieces properly so that they actually fit correctly and made them maybe a little bigger so they don't shear off so easily. Probably my first and last figure from Figma.
You're not alone, man. After yesterday's Shōgun finale I remembered I had him. First and last Figma figure. He was waiting in the box and today I wanted to take some pictures. While taking him out of the box the sword on the back broke off! Not fell of, just completely broke off. I had to glued it permanently which was a nightmare. Extremely irritating for this price :/
I used to collect a little bit of everything and cool-factor played a massive part in that but with such a high saturation of products in the last five or so years, I’ve had to be more specific about what I buy.
I would by something off design alone. Some excellent examples of this are Fortnite and overwatch. I don't play either of those games but I love alot of those designs
Nice review. For your question, I can buy a figure because it looks good, the problem is that they probably look good because they are expensive (at least for the ones that have caught my eye lol). Some examples are, the new figuarts buzz lightyear; the bloodborne lady maria figure, which its release day changed to february, i think (in case some are interested), I have never played bloodborne, though I know about the game because of the dark souls games; With that i guess i am going to get the elden ring figure from figuarts (SH figuarts Festering Fingerprint Vyke), I haven't played the game so I don't know the character, though I have played the other 3, and I think it looks like a nice figure (hope it has good articulation).
I need to have some sort of connection with the character before buying it. With that said, “cool” figures based on aesthetic alone went and gone on my collection.
Q of the Day: I’m not a gamer, but I have plenty of video game characters in my collection. Usually, I’ll see a review like this one that piques my interest, go read the bio on Wikipedia and watch some cutscenes on You Tube to get familiar with the character, then make my decision on whether to buy or pass. 9 times out of 10, it’s going to be a buy. Something about the character or the story itself has to be very off-putting for that exercise to result in a pass.
I Usually only collect things I can relate to but I do get something with a cool factor if it's on sale or if it's affordable. For example your video made me buy Spartan Yoroi even though I am yet to play Infinite.
It's cool to see a review for something that isn't a terrible marvel legends. Obviously figures like this are more expensive than those so it's understandable but it's a nice change
Just started the video, depending how the review goes I was actually gonna buy this. Never played the game Just like the figure. Now let's see if it's worth it lol
I need to have a connection to the character/IP to get an action figure/statue/model kit. These things are not cheap, so I need to be sure that I'm spending money on something that I really want.
I'd say the character and/or its design has to be really good for me to buy a collectible. For example,I don't know much about Spawn's lode except for the basics, but I'd definitely get the MK 11 Spawn figure (also don't know much about MK)
I'm not a big video game guy but I've heard good things about this game and I would definitely pick this guy up because of my love for all things samurai, ronin, shinobi, ninja🥷. I always wonder why some companies, usually import go for the extra sword hilt to sheath instead of allowing the full sword to sheath.
Probably cause paint will be rubbed off if the fit is just enough. There might actually be a use case wherein the sword will snap off from the hilt and make it a nightmare to take the sword bit out
Cant wait for the doom guy and also sam bridges, don't know if you will be getting that one in the future. I kind of feel figma is dying out bit by bit, I wish they would focus a little less on anime characters and more on the videogame stuff, specially more nintendo. And also sucks that nendroid gets better stuff like king dedede for example
It’s been a long time since you’ve reviewed a figma. Tho they are really damn expensive. Like the demon slayer figures are over $100 each. Their new Samus figure looks really cool so I might get that but everything else is just way too much. Wish they went back to how cheap they were before.
was hoping the articulation was top-notch for an action figure of a video game character. Hate to pass on one of my favorite characters ever but crappy artic is not acceptable
Yikes. I got this guy for only 116$ and I thought it was a bit pricey then. I'm sure if you wait a while they'll do another wave for cheaper sooner or later.
