I love this Botvinnik Variation because I've seen Vassily Ivanchuk playing this one exceptionally, like a Genious. But you are correct completely, I need to memorize many variations all of them with many lines so difficult to play and not to forget something under pressure. I lost that game. I'm not Ivanchuk :)
13:09 I once had an opponent (neither of us are high rated) who didn't know the theory resign in this position. I was lucky enough to have analysed the botvinnik after accidentally playing it at some point without knowing anything about it.
Hi Stepan, which will be the next opening you will teach? Going for the Slav oder the Queens Gambit accepted / denied? Keep going with your great videos! Thomas.
Hi.I'm wondering if you think that transposing into the Botvinnik is the best fighting choice against the anti-Noteboom 1. d4 d5 2. c4 e6 3. Nc3 c6 4. Nf3 dxc5 5. Bg5 Nf6 . I don't like how the other options allow white to liquidate my pawns
The amount of only moves and forced moves in this variation is insane

Ivanchucks Qg7 was just insane against Shirov
Kasparov has a nice discussion on this in his book The Test of Time. It's somewhere in a sub-chapter labelled Explosions in a Minefield.
Holy shit this is a crazy variation. Lots to learn. Thank you for the video!
I learned the Botvinnik from two of Lars Schandorff’s books. I absolutely hate it when they play e3 because I don’t get to play it
What is your rating
I've just started studying the Semi-Slav and have been eagerly awaiting the Botvinnik video :) Thanks!
No problem! Hope you like it:)

Thanks for the great video! Love from Korea
Been waiting all day for the GOAT to upload!!!!! 🔥
Are you also going to do a videos on the slav defense itself or only the semi slav? Thanks for all the videos :)
Hi Stepan. Thanks for your fine work. Could you cover the g3 semi slav?
craziness overloaded!!!!!!!
Thank You sir!
Thanks for the great resource! Are you going to cover the Tarrasch QGD in this d4 series?
Wtf! Fun watch
Thoughts on 14… Ne5?
If your talking about the main line then the engine says it’s a mistake and is plus 2 for white
@@natnthehatrobinson45 I don’t remember lol

Will you cover the Ragozin?
After Nxg5, Nd5 is actually quite strong for black despite being unsound. it's my favourite line.

No that's not good because you simply give white all of the advantages of the botvinnik you should simply play bishop e7
Spanner in the works. 4. Bg5...
Yeah sure i think i ll stay away from semi slav for a while
I may recommend sincerly to every player : PLEASE DON'T TRY IT AT HOME :) :)
