      I always thought something looked off about it but my brain never made the connection until I saw them side-by-side. I never even realized that Bomb Voyage isn't even in the memory. It would have been so easy to just reuse animation, but they recreated the scene that went unnoticed by so many people. Ah, the good old days when people cared.

      @@reynoldmcdenald1310 true, but it is rarer. Especially from the company's that originally did it, as they'd rather remake something built for being a 2d animation in life action then wonder why it failed, as if they didn't have to change so much about the original just from the situation alone that they might as well have made something new, instead of half assing a remake. The fact they're just questioning if it's necessary for the greenlight stage says it all. And then to celebrate 2d animations, they make something 3d... And they barely replicate a 2d art style, acting like it's just the shot composition and colors that make 2d different, when that's just the basics, the bare minimum, which is even worse when you realize it's after media like dragon ball z kakarot and fighterz, which both perfectly recreate and add onto the animation in the anime in 3d, like bruh, video games are 100x more complicated and they're clowning on you, with lower budgets, get fucked.

    You can drill deeper into this, my take on this is that Dash thinks that way because he's a kid. He sees himself as superior to everyone around him because technically it is. And this is important because it shows Syndrome is basically a kid who never grew up, his biggest idol and influence shunning him and treating him like a kid. Its a cool lesson because at the end of the movie, dash has matured and changed, and is willing to take 2nd place in his big race because he's no longer just self interested. It's also telling how Mr. Incredible only gets that kind of control over his son after he lets his son fight with him to stop Syndrome, showing that all Dash needed to start maturing was a little bit of respect and being treated like an adult who can work with his dad. To that same end, it kind of presents Syndrome's relationship with Bob as a neglected child figure, and subtly tells the audience that Bob really did, albeit accidentally, create Syndrome by neglecting him. At this point the more I type about this movie the more I want to go back and rewatch it, this really was a masterpiece.

    • @RichardBMRas
      @RichardBMRas Месяц назад +15

      This is really nice way of explaining it. Maybe if Mr.Incredible could've been a mentor to him and taught him the pros and cons of being a hero instead of just shutting him down. Also since this wasn't the first time syndrome showed up while Mr.incredible was stopping crime he should've taken notice of that. But who's to say that would've steered him in the right direction anyway

    • @Obscurite1221
      @Obscurite1221 Месяц назад +9

      I don't necessarily agree with this. I think Syndrome grew up just fine. If anything, he was actually the most mature character in the movie. He sat down as a literal teenager and set out to enact an incredibly ambitious plan to wipe out all the supers. He was the only character in the entire show to actually do something about the status quo, when all the other supers had resolved to fade into mediocrity, even though they didn't want to.
      The most impressive part was that his plan was basically on it's final phase and nearly worked. Sure, he had a grudge against Mr. Incredible and targeted his friends first, but if you're planning on kiboshing every super, it doesn't really matter what order you go in.

      A little error there at the end. Violet actually says to Elastigirl, “They ACT normal mom, I want to BE normal! (Then points to Jack-Jack) The only normal one is Jack-Jack and he hasn’t even been toilet-trained!” Which then later on in the movie after Omnidroid Mk10 was destroyed, Syndrome captures Jack-Jack, his powers are then unleashed within his temper tantrum, turning into a fireball, then metal, and then a monster. Then we watch the short film of Kari turning on Mozart, and then boom, it clicked within him.

      @kristinahuchison2511 4 месяца назад +39

      Uh, even if Mr. Incredible let Buddy tag along as a sidekick, he would’ve been forced to stop being a hero as well. The entire point of Buddy’s character is he was focused on making himself look cool and be just like the superhero he practically worshipped. As shown in the memory, he didn’t actually care about stopping the bad guy or protecting innocents like actual supers, he just wanted to be admired and praised. There’s a line where Bob instructed the officers to let Buddy’s mom know what he’s been doing, so it always gave me the impression maybe his father wasn’t around and Buddy kinda saw Mr. incredible as a father figure. Yeah Mr. Incredible was a bit cocky at first and let his status as the greatest superhero get to his head, but the last thing he needed was some annoying kid following him everywhere and possibly getting seriously injured and then having to explain to his mom why her son is in a coma or something. Buddy was simply too arrogant to see how dangerous and grueling being a hero actually was. He could’ve become a superhero simply by using his intelligence for good, maybe the medical industry or even to build transportation, or other industries. But no, he CHOSE to selfishly use his talents just to get even with a dude that hurt his feelings. He literally killed off other heroes just to beat his own hero. Syndrome never thought about what would happen if his own robot outsmarted its creator, hence the part he gets knocked out. All he cared about was getting the praise and glory he never got from Mr. Incredible.

    I loved buddy as a twist villain cause i never thought he was the overly obsessive type that would turn villain from being rejected, looking back on it the foreshadowing and such is what cam make a movie good if done right

    What a lot of people don't realize is that syndrome actually was super. Mr incredible just didn't notice it. Syndrome was super intelligent. We know that super intelligence is a superpower because in static shock Richie was super intelligent.

    I’ve seen the movie dozens of times and never figured out why Buddy’s memory scene looked different from the actual scene that was being referenced, but given the lighting and different feel of Syndrome’s memory it makes so much sense. Seeing that was far more shocking than the foreshadowing with Dash.

    I kind of want an AU where Buddy decided to become the Batman of the Incredible Universe. Like, instead of going "You rejected having me as a side kick so I'll become a villain." He'd go, "Hold up, I'm plenty smart and I've got the drive, why do I need a super powered idiot to let me be a hero? I'm gonna be a much cooler hero and inspiration for regular powerless people."

    I think another thing to consider is that, while kinda being rude about it, Mr. Incredible recognized that Buddy was still just a kid without powers.
    He didn't want him to get hurt so at first he tries to just get Buddy to leave by either asking him to leave and go home or by saying he "works alone", however when that doesn't work he has to resort to being more forceful to get the message across that ultimately twists Buddy's perspective on him and other supers.
    While I do think Mr Incredible could've gone about it better, his intentions were pretty clear in retrospect and come across as a kind of "tough love" thing as he didn't want a young kid to be killed trying to do what he does.

    Regarding Syndome's toxic obsession with heroism, I always found it odd that people claimed he was some representation of hard work. Because of his loss in the film, many people interpreted that only naturally birthed heroes are "real heroes". However, Syndome's intelligence and inventions could be seen as superhuman. He could have been a great superhero, but he used his gift to destroy the exiled superhero community and put innocent people in danger just so he could live out his fantasy. Unlike the Incredibles who actually save people. The second example in the video is a perfect example of why no character, or even the film for that manner, engages Syndome's "not all heroes have powers" argument. Because it only stems from his insecurities

    The phrase “everybody is special” is misunderstood in this movie or at least by Dash and Syndrome, it usually means that everyone has something they are good at that not everyone is. Syndrome is a genius engineer with only Edna being a possible rival, creating weapons that are shown time and again to get the better of Supers, but he is so obsessed with those supers and Mister Incredible in particular that he fails to see it.

  • @user-xx7kl7sr6i
    @user-xx7kl7sr6i Месяц назад

    It's not just foreshadowing, it's also a way to show how even before Syndrome enacted a whole super villain plot for it, society was already downplaying special people like Dash and Bob, what makes them special could not be used in public, displayed or talked about, everyone was already special, so everyone was super and so no one was.
