I think that was a very honest assessment from the two of you could be very helpful for someone looking to go on vacation. I also think the room looked a little average and I would be quite annoyed with how far all the accommodations are from the beach. I think what appeals to me is having an adult only portion. And last as someone who worked in customer service for many years I would be very annoyed with being ignored from the hired help! The drone footage looked amazing as always. Thanks so much - great overview of the resort. We have been to the DR a few times and thinking of booking for Dec or Jan. Just curious when you said $100 pp/pd did you book this separately from your flight and did you book this rate directly with the hotel or thru a third party? (Just wondering as I think you said you booked one way flights). I can see you don't have the best view and tbh getting a good room is always one of our worries with these all inclusive resorts but the beautiful beach always makes it better. Excited to see where you go next in the DR.

Your drone shots were beautiful!!! Loved the honest review! NO HOOKS is a huge pet peeve of mine! I was happy to see you put them in the Tiny Home 😊! As always great video can’t wait to see where you stay next! ~Cara 😊
We landed at this resort on March 13 2020 and when we got to the resort we learned we were being called home because of the pandemic. We left the following Friday and were in the group of the last 40 people to leave the resort. It was spooky walking to the lobby at night with all the buildings dark windows open amd curtains fluttering in the wind. They shut down the restaurants and it took a world wide pandemic to get an upgrade to the level. Lovely resort, but a crazy time worrying about getting home before things shut down.
How was the level? 😉 Just kidding... on that same day we were on an island in the Philippines. We then got stuck there for 4 months. We filmed the whole thing and it's on our channel. Crazy times but things are looking up - Trevor
Thanks for sharing details on travelling to DR! My daughter will be there end of November. Your video is super informative. Love watching you both and have been following you since El Nido!
I love that beach! It’s clean, beautiful and calm. I love a beach you can safety swim in. It’s unfortunate that you didn’t get a better view in low season.
Amazing!!! We were there the same month, October 20-24,2021. 😃 We had a great time. The beach was beautiful!!! We agree the resort is big BUT we will go again.😉. Our room had a jacuzzi , the landscape was very pretty. We enjoyed the food.🍉🍇🍧☕🍷🥂🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳.
If you want an all inclusive adult only quite and relaxing resort. I would totally recommend the Rui Palace Macao. The only time the music was super loud was when you could her them celebrate a birthday or something. We re beach people. So spend all our time on the beach, but when walking to eat it was never super loud.
Hi there. I enjoyed watching the video. We will be visiting 10/30-11/6 at the Meliá Beach Resort in Level Suite Beachside. You mentioned the loud music is that at certain times of the day?
Also agree that layout was huge but awkward. We ended up crashing in our friends room (on our honeymoon night 😂) bc we were too tipsy to walk across the resort to our “upgraded” room. Our friends still laugh about our honeymoon passing out in their room 😅
Highly recommend hotel Lopesan on the same beach. A group of us went in February 2020. It was newly renovated when we went, rooms were exactly like the pictures, room service was great plus, lots of bars and waiters to bring you drinks. Loved the plaza and activities. The pool and beach was amazing.
Really appreciate the honest review. The price seems reasonable for what you get, but as adults not wanting a party atmosphere it's helpful to know this may not be the place for us. The only all inclusive we've stayed at was in Belize and the food and service was amazing. Good to know they aren't all at that level or that an adults only might not be relaxing, because I naively thought that was the point of staying in one.
We kind of thought the same thing. Adults only to us means relaxation and chill time etc. This was a full on party at the pool most of the time. - Trevor

@bethc1819 stayed at the Jaguar resort in Belize as well. Absolutely agree with you. Wonderful resort. Small, great service with the excursions included in the package we had. Flights were separate.
We used to go to the Paradisus each year for 3 yrs in a row and book Butler status which was excellent and last time visiting we stayed at the Excellence both in Punta Cana going back 12 years. However we stopped going due to the fact that I would experience food poisoning each time. So needless to say we don’t travel there. I love music at the pool. Maybe, you would’ve felt more comfortable at the pool by the spa. I just left the Hyatt Punta Cana. The resort and service ….top notch 👍🏽
Ooooo, I love that there is a Vietnamese restaurant! That is different from other all inclusive resorts that tend to have the same fare. Yes, food is so important since it’s included in the price. Food in Cuba is a 1 while Jamaica is definitely an 8 or 9 if you stick with the locale cuisine.
Hi guys from Liverpool NS. Thanks for this vlog. It was very honest and informative. We have been looking to book there over the winter and would have considered that resort as we have stayed in a Melia in Jamaica in the past, which we loved. This one would not be for us. What a great review! Thanks so much for the info, really comprehensive review I was wondering about the whole seaweed thing. A lot of people complain about it but I haven't seen any on the beach. Was there seaweed in the water? And also do you know any activities outside of the resort? like scuba diving and stuff. Thanks!
Thank you for your assessment, and very fair comments. I have done AI in both larger and smaller (boutique) resorts, and my personal preference is definitely the smaller resorts. You may have less amenities and options for dining, but having a resort that is well laid out and very walkable is preferred. How many times in the run of a day do you have to pop back to your room? In a small resort, you can do that easily and it never seems to be a chore.
Hi guys!I I visited the Melia a few years ago. It was very crowded I remember. It's a little bit on the old side, compared to others in the area. But for the price wealth the visit. I'm looking for options to go in February. Hyatt in cap cana and sanctuary are on my top list. Cheers.
Glad to hear your review on this resort but i understand you pay an average $159 Dollers a night ,for that price, all inclusive I think that's a remarkable price considering your at one of the world's best beaches, if your are looking for a higher standard of costumer services I would consider the hard Rock resort with is approximately $650 dollers a night and there you will get more convenience.
Hi, I loved the video and the super honest review. I was thinking about spending my honeymoon at this resort, but now I decided to review my choice. Hugs from Brazil
man you two; what a nice looking resort...you deserve the rest!! Very jealous...went to Disneyland last night for Halloween activities and had to year long pants AND a jacket!! lol how are all inclusive resorts for the single traveler? they look great for couples...
I like your review. I do want to add that there are many different sections to this resort. My family and i have stayed there 4 times. Our last time was during covid as well. You need to do the research on how much you want to spend, that will determine your room/location/situation on the resort. We had a huge 2 bedroom suite that was very close to everything. The food at the Circle Grand Melia, was far beyond what i expected. One negative, the same as your situation was getting the bar stocked every day. Best part of Melia resorts is,you can cancel up to 7 days before your trip.
The resort itself seems less than delightful, but those drone shots of the palms studded beach and that lovely turquoise water did make me yearn a little bit. We'll see if your adventures in the tropics can keep the upcoming Chicago winter at bay. LOL
Great video.. The area in general looks pretty Empty. What star rating is your resort? Usually when I book a room at my Hotel on Bavaro Beach, I ask for a Pool Side, or Ocean view. I have a Gold Membership though with mine. And yes, sometimes you have to hound the staff to refill your Mini fridge. In Dominican Republic I've never had an issue with food any where. My resort food is amazing. "Ocean Blue And Sand " awesome staff. Usually during daytime hours there's always poolside music. Not good for just lying there reading. The Ocean side is best for peaceful leisure. I actually never swim in Dirty Pools, any pools. The Ocean is best for your body/skin/hair.. You see these people sitting at the pool bar all day ,...that don't go to the facilities....lol.. Where do you think they are using it.... :) in the pool.. just saying.. I seen someone also commented that your there in Hurricane season..,rainy season.. that's not 100% true. I've been in the Caribbean all times of the year, and on cruise ships. Never once have I seen a hurricane.. Most inexperienced travelers listen to stories of others. Don't do this, don't do that.. experience it for your self.. like you guys Trevor. I'm looking forward to seeing your videos off resort. . Travel safe, enjoy.
Not sure of the official star rating but it's rated quite high on Google. We're not resort people at all so we're looking forward to showing folks what's beyond the 'walls' 😉- Trevor
I was in Barbados when you filmed this. Been to the DR many times though before covid hit. The UK government stopped us flying to the DR so this year i had to go barbados instead.
Hi, new to your blog. How long did you stay? Would love to hear about the next places where you are staying. We love to go away during the winter months. We were in the DR, in an all inc. in April, for a week. Wonderful and sooooooo relaxing. Stayed at the Hilton La Romana Adults Only. Enjoy.
Great review, I have stayed at barcelo in riveria Maya. The rooms looks exactly the same. Does the d.r location have the same option for the fine dining restaurants. In Mexico if you stayed 4 days you got so many specialty restaurants, if you stay 7 you get so many. How many restaurants are there total that were open when you were there and how many closed. We went at the beginning of covid and we had 2/7
is there good snorkeling off the beach? I prefer low-rise resorts i.e. I don't enjoy taking elevators at a resort. Does this resort have low-rise i.e. no elevators? are your rates USD or CAD?
Hola .. gracias por todas las recomendaciones en tooooodos sus videos .. viajamos la próxima semana al Melia , quería consultarles , para ingresar a los restaurantes a la carta , los hombres deben usar pantalones largos y zapatos cerrados ??? Gracias

I love the drone videos you guys do and may want to do some similar soon.
If you are "The Level" status you can call for a private golf cart to pick you up anytime and take you where ever you want on the property. It's definitely worth it.
Thanks for the review! When you said it's a family & adult resort how does that division work, in your opinion (well or not well)? When I go on a trip I don't want to hear or see any kids at all, lol, so I don't know if I should only be looking for adults-only ones or not. Is it a shared beach between the 2 parts?
Hi Julie, The division line was right outside our patio door so from our room it wasn't great. If your room was on the other side you'd never even see a tiny human 😅Hear ya on the kids! ... 2 different beaches btw - Trevor
Seems to me that if the resort is at 50% capacity that you should of had a room with a better view especially if they were leveling you up with anticipation that you would but into the vacation club. Walking far to the restaurants is a pro for me since it either makes you hungry or helps with digestion afterwards. Too much sitting around is not good for your health.

In complete agreement with your take on the pros and cons. What is it with these places assuming we all crave VOLUME ELEVEN BONE-INFUSING BASS ever? Such a turn off. The resort is beautiful but definitely not honeymoon material 😀
Hi patricia! I’m also looking for a honeymoon resort in Dominican Republic… have you found anything yet? Appreciate your sharing .. obrigadaaaa 🥰
man you two; what a nice looking resort...you deserve the rest!! Very jealous...went to Disneyland last night for Halloween activities and had to year long pants AND a jacket!! lol how are all inclusive resorts for the single traveler? they look great for couples...
I think for solo travellers they would be good Taki! There’s always nice bars to sit at too 😀 I told Anna I’m not wearing pants until 2022😆 - Trevor
@@DelightfulTravellers nice!!
It's a great resort overall. But if this was our 1 week winter vacation and we'd had 'normal' jobs we'd be disappointed overall - Trevor
The resort itself seems less than delightful, but those drone shots of the palms studded beach and that lovely turquoise water did make me yearn a little bit. We'll see if your adventures in the tropics can keep the upcoming Chicago winter at bay. LOL
It's a gorgeous resort but just not quite our style MM 🤗- Anna
Beautiful property and oh that beach is stunning. I agree about the food in DR. It’s fine but not exceptional at the all inclusives
12:04 yes! And sea temp is still sitting at 29!
I was in Barbados when you filmed this. Been to the DR many times though before covid hit. The UK government stopped us flying to the DR so this year i had to go barbados instead.
How did you like Barbados? - Anna
Enjoy.
We stayed for a week and there's a new video out now on our next accommodation 🤗- Anna
@@DelightfulTravellers great. I will definitely check it out. Tks.
Going to Royalton Punta Cana in November. Eventhough tip is part off it, I'm still planning on carrying small bills for tips.
Did you guys have any issues with making dinner reservations?
Enjoy the rest of your stay ! Happy Halloween from Cape Breton ! hugs
Happy Halloween Joe... thanks for watching - Trevor
Hi Anna and Trevor!
Thank you for the honest review.
You’re very welcome 😊 - Anna
i would like to see you compare this all inclusive with hilton LaRomana
Thank you for sharing your experience. Since you're foodies, how was the wine? Hug from Montréal.
Was perfectly acceptable.. but of course the house wine isn't spectacular or anything - Trevor
is there good snorkeling off the beach? I prefer low-rise resorts i.e. I don't enjoy taking elevators at a resort. Does this resort have low-rise i.e. no elevators? are your rates USD or CAD?
Nice company to work for. You work but you also get paid fairly(in Europe at least). Just an inside look haha.
Gracias
You should try Grand Cana at Melia Paradisus Palma Real.
We'll have to look that place up! 🤗- Anna
Hello🙋♀
Dear friend🤝
I watch slowly😍
Thanks friends for the wonderful video👍1326🌹
Bless good friend good luck🙏
Hey I have a friend that is there for his birthday. Do you know anything about the excursions?
Thanks for your awesome videos. I’m a Nova Scotian (Wolfville) who lives just east of Calgary in Strathmore Alberta. Looking forward to getting back to travelling again and living vicariously through you two now. Just curious what model of drone you’re using and approx how much it costs. I love the drone videos you guys do and may want to do some similar soon.
Our drone is the DJI magic mini. The 249g version. Basically the largest drone you can get without needing a license to fly it 👌 - Trevor
@@DelightfulTravellers awesome thanks! Enjoy the Dominican and stay safe
If you are "The Level" status you can call for a private golf cart to pick you up anytime and take you where ever you want on the property. It's definitely worth it.
Looks like a great place! Enjoy!
It so was! - Trevor
Based on my experience. Just book adults only resorts.
Very Nice! 👍👍🍹🍻🏖
We're glad you enjoyed the video Mayra 🤗 - Anna
Seems to me that if the resort is at 50% capacity that you should of had a room with a better view especially if they were leveling you up with anticipation that you would but into the vacation club. Walking far to the restaurants is a pro for me since it either makes you hungry or helps with digestion afterwards. Too much sitting around is not good for your health.
Thanks. Great review. It's a beautiful resort but I think I would prefer a more intimate boutique resort with better, personalized service.
Us too Fema... that's what we thought we were getting but we found a way to make it work either way 🤗- Anna
@@DelightfulTravellers How can any Canadian complain about hot weather and beautiful beaches at this time of year? LOL! I'm glad you're having some well-deserved fun!
Good coverage - nice to know!!!
Thanks for watching!
Please do more of all hotels resort
Where would you say has the best food in terms of all inclusive?
Listen Music Loud is part of the Dominican culture.
Great review!
The beach is gorgeous and so is the pool but the loud music all day every day would bug me too.
It was soooo loud. We spent our days in the beach 🏖 - Anna
I was in punta Cana in October at an all inclusive too !
Im coming tomorow🥰🥰🥰
Any restrictions to fly drones in punta cana?
Canada 🇨🇦 is in the house...!!!!!
What did you guys use to book?
Hello ...Is this a family resort?
If it is do u recommend for a family with toddler and teens?
Thank you
It is a family resort yes. We can't really answer your family question as we're just 2 people - Anna
Good Morning - 1st!
you know you dont win anything by commenting first? maybe it's the only thing youve came 1st in. Such a weird youtube thing people do.
🥇 haha thanks guys!
@@Garcia-elf hang on now! They got the 1st emoji medal AG 😀
@@DelightfulTravellers Thanks for that! I will put it with all of our other 1st place awards LOL.

Pool is objective because most people wanna turn up not be in a library
Sus videos me gustan mucho. Y sobre todo mostrando parte del este de mi bello país Quisqueya la bella. La bella Republica Dominicana la amo con todo mi corazón.
Have you spotted Dawn Langstroth or Anne Murray?
haha no we haven't... are they here in the DR? - Trevor
Goood, Very good JOB
In complete agreement with your take on the pros and cons. What is it with these places assuming we all crave VOLUME ELEVEN BONE-INFUSING BASS ever? Such a turn off. I was pleased to see no mention bed bugs. People in our large wedding group were ravaged by them in a similar resort there. Also crime and gangs are pretty bad so keep your wits about you as I’m sure you already do. Stay safe, have fun. Don’t forget to film a short 15 sec video of any mopeds or vehicles you rent- they LOVE hitting you with the old damage scam. 👀🎥👍🏼
We've had no bed bugs and have been out and about in Punta Cana for a week or so now. It's very safe, no gangs and honestly a lot of fun. We prefer it over a resort. You'll see soon - Trevor
