    I just got back from the Melia and this video is exactly what to expect when you go go there. It is breathtaking...the staff is so kind. The rooms are a bit outdated, but clean. We did not have any bug issues. We had no issues with hot water, but met others at the resort that said they did have no hot water. The food was not the best. The Vietnamese restaurant was good though. The beach and pool are was incredible.

    Great video. Place is absolutely beautiful. With the exception of the rooms.. they’re OLD and really outdated. Stayed at Motels with nicer rooms. Water didn’t always work especially HOT water. We stayed LEVEL beachside. Rooms are exactly the same as the non-level rooms. Rest of my extended family booked non-level. So got to see what both had to offer. Booking Level definitely has some benefits. Wish they could keep the extremely pushy beach hustlers away, they are relentless. Definitely will be going back place is like you said absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!
    And the staff is AMAZING!

      I agree with you about the rooms - some have been recently upgraded and are nice, but others are somewhat dated and in need of an overhaul. We used to stay in the big two room suites and they were amazing - but very far from the beach.

    Like to go back. So far the beach was the one of the best around. We stayed at adult area upper level. Draw back was exactly what you experienced sweated profusely walking to lobby for all the food and entertainment. They had no form of entertainment down near main pool or beach. Such a sad waist of beautiful space we love a great buffet but only up at lobby again spent more time traveling than vacation. Cart service was almost never and our butler always busy so we just got tired of walking all the time. 20 to 30 min walk to lobby from beach Rooms were decent but remember this resort is the oldest resort in Dominica. Very earthy and natural. There is a buffet at upper level and some great stuff but not the best food at that end. Got to travel once again for the better food. If it wasn’t for the travel I would recommend this resort every time

      Thank you 🙏🏻 for sharing. They now have greatly improved electric buses than run more frequently to the lobby. Yes, more animation and entertainment would be nice. And while it does go back 25 years, I believe Club Med Punta Cana pre-dates the Melia

Love the ways you present and all the details...and i watch all your videos about the Miléa resort. thank you so much. If you don't mind, i have fews questions : Deluxe room , premium room beachside, junior suite room, roulette room AREN'T like the Level right? The Level have more benefits right, André? The level suite beach side, the level suite beach side by STAY WELL, The level garden suite by STAY WELL. So, the level suite beach side and the level suite beach side by STAY WELL are they the same? Seem little bit confusing...thanks André.

      In terms of dimensions, all the rooms are the same size, with the exception of very few suites that feature a separate living room and bedroom. Otherwise, the only difference is hat the Level rooms are better appointed in terms of furnishings and amenities. I stay for two months in a non-level room and am perfectly happy with how it. BUT I do upgrade my bracelet to the Level for access to Quimera which is non-negotiable for me because the food at that facility is the best on the resort.

    Thanks for your vlog. We arrived in Punta Cana 4 days ago. Having fun checking out places that you have previously described, i.e. - flamingo bar, onno's, zoho, etc.
    We decided to skip the all-inclusives, but stay rent a condo for 2 months. You mentioned that you've been here for 7 weeks, do you find that more cost effective than renting a condo ffor that length of time.
    Keep up the good work, Ottawa.

      When you add up the cost of airfare, food, drink, electricity and rent of a modern condo on the beach, some resorts can be competitive - but not all. For us, a resort stay is more expensive than a condo stay, but we enjoy the convenience of not having to shop and cook our meals.

      Bearing in mind that we are in Canada where vacation packages usually combine both airfare and accommodations, most brochures only offer prices for 1-2 weeks stays. For longer stays, the best practice is to find the best deal on a two week stay, then get on the phone with a representative of the company offering the best rate to directly negotiate a price for your long term stay.

    • @PuntaCanaTravelVideos
      @PuntaCanaTravelVideos  Год назад

      I spent two months at the resort and can share the following: The offending seaweed that accumulates in significant levels is sargasm. The amounts vary dramatically from day to day, and fields of sargasm hit the beach in a very localized fashion. Your resort might have none at all, yet the resort next door might have lots - it really is hit and miss. It’s not like a large field of it hits all of Punta Cana at once. It is quite dispersed. Hope this is helpful.

      The walk from the beachside room to lunch and breakfast is very short - just a few minutes. In terms of dinner, it’s a beautiful fifteen minute walk to the main lobby restaurant facilities, but these is a shuttle service and several carts to help with transportation needs, therefore that should not be an issue. Mosquito control is the best it’s been in years - didn’t encounter any during a two month stay in 2023.

      I can only comment on the beachfront as I’ve never been a guess at the Barcelo. Melia has a much nicer beachfront due to a number of factors. The first is palapas and Bali beds - tons of them at the Melia, very few at Barcelo - you pretty much have to rely on palm trees for shade. The standard deluxe room is very nice and has very effective air conditioning - combined with the very comfortable beds, you will sleep well at night and stay cool all day long. • @PuntaCanaTravelVideos
      @PuntaCanaTravelVideos  Год назад

      In terms of WIFI bandwidth, expect speeds between 1 to 1.5Mbps - with several hundreds of devices on site, bandwidth partitioning is surely in place, as it would be in any popular resort. The Melia Caribe is a separate resort that caters to families - consider it off limits in terms of facilities and restaurants. There are two buffet restaurants (one at the lobby, one at the beach) and both are very good. The à la carte restaurants are very good! As far as the beach goes, Mother Nature doesn’t follow a schedule - seaweed and sargasm comes and goes and levels change day to day - best to time your walks during low tide for maximum enjoyment. Having said that, the large resorts generally do a very good job of keeping their beachfronts clean of seaweed. But more importantly, keep in mind that the Melia resorts in Punta Cana offer some of the deepest and most well appointed beachfronts in Punta Cana with lots of palm trees 🌴 and palapas - and several Bali beds

The Level is amazing, but regardless of whether you book it or not - you will have an amazing vacation.
