It was an older lady who's granddaughters name is kate. The stuffed animals and toys were for kate to play with. The grandma had a cat. She fell sick and was never able to return home. The family didn't want to deal with the house so it's just been left sit for years. What's absolutely atrocious is the fact that people have broken into the home and destroyed property that doesn't belong to them. Something is seriously wrong with people now. This was once a very nicely kept home. Now it's just sad sad sad!!!! 😪
This is definitely several generations of accumulation. Guessing when the occupant passed away no one wanted to deal with it, or couldn't get there to do it. Then the squatters moved in. Either way, it's sad. Once we're gone everything we own, all of the things that we feel mean so much to us, just becomes 'stuff'. Better to grab on to the living moments, and to enjoy the wonderful people in our lives! May the blessings of the season find you safe, and well, and happy! Wishing you all the very best, James! Marian 🇨🇦
See your theory is exactly what I thought initially too until i noticed there was a gap between when the owners died and when the home was fully abandoned. I still think there may be more to the story than that but who knows. Either way you are right, it's all just stuff in the end. Thanks Marian and have a great holiday!!
So true ! I was at a yard sale last summer and they had absolutely stunning antique furniture pieces and the lady told me their elderly mom had passed away and made nothing at the Estate sale so all the many years their mom had collected the antiques ..it was basically sold for nothing 😞 like you said " stuff" gets tossed or left sadly..
What a sad situation, shame on the one's who came in and destroyed everything.it makes me want to come and clean it up.so sad , sorry it ended up this way.
Yes, to vandalize a home like this is moronic, but the fact that no one sees fit to sell the house or make claim to the items left behind is stupid also. Someone owns that place and knows that it will be vandalized and gone through....that makes me even angrier than the fact that people have vandalized it.
The people that bought the home at auction, likely did so for the land, either that or they have plans to fix it up one day....or maybe it's just an investment. I don't know why an owner not using their home makes you angrier than the vandals trashing it, I would imagine that they would expect the home doesn't get vandalised or trashed, in fact it may not have even occured to them. Thanks for the comment!!
Thank you for having so much respect. Like you said, even if the house is abandoned, there's no reason to go in and trash the place. Love your videos. Be well.
This is so heart-breaking, it was clearly a beautiful home surrounded by a winter wonderland. It's so sad, I'd love to live here. So many people are in need of safe housing and so many houses sit abandoned when they could be loved again.
We had renters, when they move out they took everything that wasn't nail down, Rotted out entry way floor with their dog, knew I shouldn't had been talk into renting to them.
so sad, these people who do this are just losers with no purpose who probably never grow up and who feel no regret.. They always seem to find theses homes. What makes it sad for me is to see all the well-loved toys of children who would have given them names and would not have wanted to see them abandoned like this. - especially so with the teddies and dolls.
Sometimes people it's going true a really dark time they stop believing in God or anything in life!!! Think before you talk!!! You are one of those people who people can't count for nothing in life!!!
I love seeing all of this, and at the same time it makes me so sad. All the memories, the vintage items that could've went to someone who would've loved them.
This would have broken many hearts at the beginning when it was found and in pristine condition. A family just vanished right in the middle of living their lives, doing day-to-day things everyone does. Cooking, cleaning, watching children playing, tv's left on so the kids could watch when they wanted. Just to see a house in perfect condition and no one around was hard. Now with all the needless violence and hatred aimed at it, it feels even worse. People have no regard for the personal property anymore. It's almost like a sport to see who can do the worse damage possible. I don't believe this was a house belonging to elderly people. Grandparents keep toys at their house for the grandkids to play with but not this much !!! there were no signs of the elderly...walkers, wheelchairs, medicines, it just wasn't there. This was a younger family. The first thing I would do if I went would be to start picking things up and putting them away, displaying the Christmas theme again, I could not help myself !!! If for nothing else to honor the lives of the family who lived here. To put it back the way it was before they had to leave it.
I have tidied up many of these places over the years and i probably would have done the same here if i had the time. Unfortunately in the past when I have done that, they just get messed up again not long after. It's an unfortunate thing and it shouldn't be the case. Thanks for your comment!!
@@StaticSpaces I thought of that as well plus the time of day it was afforded you no time. just wish people had enough sense to respect someone else's property.
Not necessarily, not all elderly people want walkers, wheel chairs, etc my dad was upset on his last days for us bringing "extras" into the home. He wanted to sleep all day before passing, would eat and drink less and less and in portions throughout the days, get out of breath, etc and when he use to love showering, he began to not want a bath/shower, etc even if mom damped him with a wash cloth he was mad and didnt wanna be bothered. He did love his favorite treats on his last days which we bought him as a family, but the saddest is how hospice fed him terrible food on his last couple days he was with them. His chicken was gross and you think people that are passing would be treated way better but they arent, it goes go show how much the world doesnt give a shit about people. Some people also bring their family member food to.their bed if thats what they feel more comfortable with... whatever works for each person.
This is by far one of my favorite abandoned home videos. I enjoy your calm demeanor as you travel through the home commenting on what you observe. I hate to see the vandalism and destruction. Thank you for posting this video it was very enjoyable and the home is still beautiful.
New subscriber here! Just found you!! I like your style. I'd like to throttle the idiots who vandalized the place. If people are gonna steal things, why not do it without destroying everything else? I will never understand it. Even through all that, I can see what a cozy, comfortable home this once was. I'll be back for sure! Great job!!
Crazy and heartbreaking to think that family didn’t want to deal with house and left it to deteriorate. That in itself makes a person wonder what transpired within their family dynamics to find it easier just to close the door and walk away.
@@StaticSpaces The family didn't want to deal with senile granny so they just left her to fend for herself and rot just like the remains found in the fridge.
My GRANDMA DIED IN 2004. I WENT TO HER ABANDONED PROPERTY MANY YEARS LATER, AND GOT ALL HER CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS AND HER ARTIFICIAL TREE. IT IS STILL DISPLAYED EVERY YEAR!
@@StaticSpaces My First cousin has it now, but he is just letting it fall in. So sad! The power company even cut the power off, due to a fire hazard. it is in Coffee County, Alabama in the Fairview Community.I live 2 hours away in Tallahassee, Fla. Thanks!
@@chriscourson2824 I never understand when people do that. Wouldn't they either want the money from selling it or even just not want to see it fall into ruin? Weird.
There are Multiple people claiming this house belonged to someone they knew or a family member & Other comments have said this home is actually in Canada
I don't think these comments were referring to this house in particular. It was a personal experience the commenter had about a house in the same situation. Yes this house is in Canada and yes there were a couple people that know the area.
This video is amazing for so many reasons. Life is so short. I lost my husband almost 5 years ago and I am currently “finally” going through things and trying to donate what’s nice and trash the junk to keep my kids (all over 30) from having to deal with an entire household of stuff if something happens to me. Anyway, many of the items in this home gave me flashbacks of raising my own children while also reminding me of my 6 grandchildren. I also saw some things that my brothers kids had growing up and the wreaths reminded me of the crafts my mom and I and other family members often got together during the holidays to make. This is a family’s lifetime of memories in this house. It’s heart breaking on so many levels. It makes you wonder who the family was and what happened and you can’t help hoping that they aren’t all dead. I hate the way some people can be so destructive and disrespectful with other peoples property. Maybe there is somebody related to this family that had no idea all of these things were left this way. My point is, if anybody related to this family is ever located and offered the opportunity to salvage anything from this home, heartless people have destroyed the place and it would now cost exponentially more. The clean up alone would cost so much that most people would have to pass up the opportunity to salvage the home. Unless they are lucky enough to be able to get a crew of volunteer workers to help with the clean up. Or maybe they might have a big family capable of pitching in. If this was my moms home or family of mine, this would be heart crushing and also really make me mad too. The house itself looks to be a home worth renovating. I’d love to see somebody come in and clean it up and flip it. That would be really cool. Great job on the video. Thanks for sharing.
That was really well said! I'm sorry about your husband but i am glad you are taking the time to go through your things. Thanks very much for the comment!!
Ya, i see trashed houses so often now that sometimes i just have to talk about it in the videos. Hopefully it will make people think twice before doing something like this. Thanks for watching!!
Christmas Time Capsule Called the Christmas Time Capsule for very good reason, this home was left in an untouched state for years and remained so until after it was first discovered. The house was filled with furniture, personal belongings, photos covering the walls, oh and of course Christmas decorations, lots and lots of decorations. Unfortunately time has not been kind to this "time capsule", vandals had discovered the home since the first explorers visited and tossed belongings everywhere, stolen items, put holes and even wrote graffiti on the walls. Despite all the destruction it was still a very interesting explore! Having done a little bit of research I found out that the woman who lived here died in 2001 and her husband had died 9 years earlier. Does this mean that the home has been sitting abandoned for 20 years? I don't think so, I also found two calendars in the home dating back to 2011 and 2012 and I would imagine that's how long this home has been sitting. This leaves a gap of about 11 years where someone else was living in the home, maybe it was one of the children or some other relative, we may never have the answer to this. One thing that we know for sure is that the last occupants definitely liked the holiday season and it is likely that the home was abandoned at Christmas. A few years ago the property was sold for tax arears which leads one to believe that the last occupant may have been having financial problems. The home is now starting to show signs of mold growing in the kitchen and the basement but there seems to be a relatively new roof and the outside of the home was also updated with vinyl siding, if the property continues to sit, it could be a very long time before the home begins to decay naturally. If it weren't for the overgrown and unkept yard, passersby would have no idea that this house is even sitting abandoned, that's how good it looks from the road. Only time will tell what happens to this property from this point onward. Follow me: instagram.com/james.hackland/ facebook.com/0StaticSpaces0/
Older people would not have left children’s toys in the house. Where are the children of the old people if that is what happened? It appears the entire family left all at once.
The details i have provided are facts, anything that is not fact, i have made clear. Sometimes older people don't throw away toys etc, all of the toys, VHS etc are 3-4 decades old, they are from the 80s and 90s
It's was probably Christmas time that why so much Christmas stuff around...when they left...I would love to have the old dresser with the mirror that gave everything to my sister when my grandmother passed and I got nothing....her and I were so close....also the china hutch......some of those disney VHS because I use to watch them with my children and now with my grandkids..
Maybe the toys and some other belongings and even some of the decor is 80s-90s but that living room and most of the furniture is 60s-70s. Thanks for watching!!
Hi there, I just came across your channel. This video was so sad to see. Squatters were definitely in this house. Years ago I lived in a apartment in Queens on the 5th floor. I came home from work and found that my apartment had been burglarized. My dresser drawers were all emptied and things and clothes thrown all around. The stereo wires were ripped from the walls in the livingroom, furniture overturned..a complete mess and that was just in a 1 bedroom apt. People have no respect for other people's property. As you were going thru in my mind I could see where things belonged...so sad!
Oh for sure, i mean at least the owners aren't coming back to this one but the feeling of invasion and loss of safety that comes with someone breaking into your space is unsettling. I once had my rental car broken into and all of my camera equipment stolen, along with all of my friend's taken as well, it's a crappy experience! Thanks for the comment!!
You have a very pleasant voice and you're very respectful to the property. It's so sad to see so many personal things go to waste. It was a really interesting video !
Just found your channel from Noah's shout out and I really like your style! My wife and I were amazed at how good you are at showing everything there is to see in such detail. I'm sure glad we found your channel and am now a subscriber. Looking forward to seeing lots more of your videos in the future! Cheers!
Thanks for the tour. It’s so disappointing what people have done to the house! The family really should have someone come in and see if there are item that could benefit the family. This woman lived a full life so sad that all her things have been trashed
I completely agree, it's shame that this place has been ransacked. As far as I know the original family that collected all these items and lived in the home are no longer the owners. So legally they couldn't come in to collect things without the new owners permission. Thanks for the comment!!
An estate sale person could have come in and dealt with the belongings and given the family the money. Maybe something happened and the family did not want to deal with things.
I always feel so frustrated and sad when I see a home trashed, vandalized for what reason? Why? What is the harm of just letting it be. The elements would take over soon enough.
It makes me so angry when I see what vandals have done to property left abandoned for whatever the reason. Thus, the reason I left law enforcement years ago - I finally acknowledged to self I couldn’t change the criminal. I studied the criminal mind, behavior and sociology instead.
I would love to have seen this place when it was full of life. When I was a kid back in the early 70s they were a lot places like this . me and my pals would go in and explore and rummage but we never made a mess damaged or stolen anything. We just liked to explore.
Exactly....this happened to me.... I had an old little cottage lived alone. I became disabled at 40. A friend took me in. When I was well enough to go home. This is what I came home to.almost exactly. And it broke me to the core. How..why..who... And I got severely depressed. Lived through suicidal thoughts due to loss of security and faith in humanity. I'm now trying to find a way to restore my home..my sanctuary once. Everyday..its a long heartbreaking expensive endeavor. But I was told..it will be worth it..to not let them...WIN. take it back they say. So.... Thank you for your sincerity in bringing this to light. I love exploring too ftr...old resorts etc.. But your kindness...meant the world to see. God Speed. Always be Kind...
Family never helped . Were in other states and too busy with their families. They all told me I was over reacting.. Burglaries happen all the time. This was not just a burglary...it was a sweet cottage for a lonely hopeless romantic artist who became disabled. My fairies smahed..my records thrown all over..my clothes dumped..my photos tossed abot.. It happens..to real people.. I atest..
This is so sad and I agree with others it's also so sad AND horrific that people broke in and destroyed stuff. People are horrible. Bless you for respecting the property and items.👍❤️.
I started tearing up watching this. All those photos of family members and none could be bothered to deal with the house. The items in the house were brought there by someone who cherished them. When the lady left, no one honored her or her memory. 😢
Well i am not so sure that the remaining family didn't want to deal with things. There may have been something preventing it, maybe finical issues. Thanks for the comment!!
Are you serious? At this point what difference would it make? The house will eventually fall in. I hope someone goes and takes what they can, it will all be trash polluting the woods soon. The only thing I see in this video, is over consumerism and ppl just wanting more and more junk…
@@StaticSpaces nobody is going back to claim none of that! Guarantee if you went back now 7month later that’s it’s over taken by mold and has starting caving in. Call it what you want. It’s better ppl take it, instead of ending up a big pile of trash in the woods. Ppl put to much worth, value in material crap. You can’t take none of it when you go. Instead it’s left to pollute nature and will become a problem for future generations.
First video of yours I've seen.. Got to say brilliant! Respectful, interesting and what a beautiful house, heartbreaking that's its been abandoned like this. Subscribed from the UK, and looking forward to more.. Thank you.
It's heartbreaking when people abandoned a home for whatever reason. You can tell it was a well lived home. You are right people are discusting and disturbing to vandalize a home.😡 So sad. 😞
Great video! I appreciate the care and respect that you have in exploring these places...I appreciated that when you were in the "Kate" bedroom, you replaced the comforter on top of the cabinet after looking inside the cabinet. At 28:38, I'm guessing the "The Chop Stops Here" poster is from 1992...the house's occupants being Toronto Blue Jays fans, I think this was from the World Series that year against the Atlanta Braves who used "The Chop" chant. An interesting and vintage sports souvenir!
I al ays try to leave these places in as good or better condition then when I found them. You are absolutely right, that was from the 1992 World Series, i remember it well. Glad you enjoyed and thanks a lot for the comment!!
This is absolutely horrible for anyone to go in to someone's home and destroy it like whoever did this one day it'll all come back to bite them in the rear end but really would love to know what state this home was in it could be made into such a beautiful home
You were absolutely right that i would love this one! I seriously feel like this place is sort of like a personal nostalgia trip for me too, because there are MANY items in this home that i have ties with now or from the past. You know i collect Christmas movies (White Christmas is a classic so of course i have it!), plus i also have lots of those S'more snowman ornaments like the ones you pointed out on the dvd player downstairs. Upstairs i saw movies that i've bought, and i had Pound Puppies, that entire set of Simpsons dolls (i'm pretty sure was from Burger King) EXCEPT the Bart you showed because he was sold out here, and finally that large white bear with the hat & scarf! Aside from all that, i LOVE the front door (it's so painful knowing it's just sitting there rotting away when it's so beautiful), and the green wallpaper in the living room is something i'd use myself! The colour in the dining room was really nice too... what a lovely home it must have been at one point. I'm thinking that it was Grandma & Grandpa's home and they kept their childrens' stuff (hence the 80's/early 90's things), and then bought stuff (like the newer movies) for when the grandchildren visited (i'm guessing the first bedroom was theirs, and the squatter maybe brought the movies in to there if the power was still left on the house). Thank you for this explore and for saving it for the holidays--it was an awesome treat!! Merry Christmas! 🥰
Haha yup, knew you were going to like this one! Definitely a lot of stuff from the 80s and 90s in there, brought back a lot of memories for me too. I agree though, it's a shame that this one will likely rot away and then be demolished in the future. Thanks for the comment and Merry Christmas!!
I absolutely hate people who come in and destroy these family time capsule homes. I would be pissed if I had to leave my home for some emergency and came back after a year or however long and found it torn to hell! People should respect what is left behind. Even if it's abandon, you shouldn't tear things up. Exactly what is the point of that. I have respect for RUclipsr's who document and leave it as they found it. The others I'd like to see imprisoned.
Wow..... more than a little sad, people can be disgusting. They destroyed the home of a family that could have left for a visit out of town and never returned home. Maybe a family member will see your kind video and recognize the photos. Thank you for being so kind.
Well i don't think the original family will ever be returning because the home was sold at auction for back taxes. But you're right, it is still disgusting. Thanks for the comment!!
Nothing gives people the right to pillage these places, i think the people that do this sort of thing have some serious problems they need to deal with. Thanks for the comment!!
David….I agree with you. I almost got depressed after being pissed off. I’d love to know how this happens in Cities all over. Its mind blowing. Very sad as well.
That is an amazing old home, it’s a shame it was left to rot. It appears there were many, many years of memories in that house, what I find horrible is that anyone could disrespect a person so much to leave their years of memories to rot like that. Be it the children or grandchildren or just family members who left it there. I also realize the person or persons may not have had anyone to clean it out when they passed, that is sad and horrible too. The ones who destroyed it should be hung out to dry…..just saying!
So sad that people destroy what doesn’t belong to them. What I find even sadder is that family didn’t do anything to keep the home. So many homeless people that would have loved to take it.
This is the first time I've ever seen one of your videos and I love it. You did a great job going through everything. Its a beautiful home. That i wish someone would fix up and bringing life back into it. I feel sorry for whoever lived there that all there family treasures were left behind.
This was sad to watch, not only about the vandalism, but for what might have happened to the family that had lived there. Scenarios were going through my mind about the entire family being killed or in fear had to leave and abandon everything they owned. Unfortunately in today's nightly news reporting so much violence, the chance of this being the case is too much of a possibility. And if what actually happened as in the comment by Vonnie K, it's really so sad that the family chose not to even hire someone to come in to clear items out and sell this once lovely home, especially if it was their childhood home. Even if they were to sell it "as is".
Any number of things could have happened for sure but i highly doubt that violence was involved, although it is possible. A sad situation for sure none the less. Thanks for the comment!!
Its absolutely maddening that people don't leave things alone the way they found it and just trash things. How awesome it must have been when everything was undisturbed and not spray painted on or broken on the floor.
You know when ever I see a vacant house that has been trashed like this house has it really makes me angry. Why do people do this? What is wrong with them? Why do they think this is OK to do? Didn't their parents teach them to respect other people's property? AAAHHHH!!!!! THIS MAKES ME SO ANGRY.
These are always so heartbreaking as I'm an older person myself. It's sad when your kids leave home, partner dies, and you realise you have 6 more of everything than you actually use. For years you faithfully wash the floors, clean the windows, starch the curtains, and for why? She probably liked Christmas if it was the one time that family might visit. I'm about to sell the contents of my 'guest room' that has never been used, so I won't have to look at it. Living in a rural area is great when farming is a thing and there is a community , but when it becomes a bedroom community you may as well live on the moon.
Getting older and going through that kind of a transformation is tough for sure. In the case of this home i don't think it's that the children weren't interested in the the home, i think something out of their control happened and that's why things weren't taken care of. Sad way for this home to end though. Thanks for the comment!!
Excellent Explore! Great job. I wonder what happened, also. However, I must disagree that this was an elderly person who died. When you see a house where an elderly person had lived and either had to go a nursing home or died you see things like walkers, canes, medication and medication bottles (although the meds could have been stolen) you also, frequently see watches, old magazines, smoking materials, a bed on the first floor as older people have a difficult time with the stairs. In homes of elderly people you see a lot of mid century belongings (there are some here, but not a lot) and rarely, if ever, do you see children's things. You'll see a grab bar or a bath chair in the shower or bath and a toilet riser, so the older person wouldn't fall when getting on an off the toilet. The feel of an elderly person is different than this house. I agree that squatters most likely had gotten into and used this house. I hope they weren't the ones who trashed it. That is sad when people ruin something so no one else can use it or even look and enjoy it. I wondered if the bottled water was from squatters, then we saw a water cooler. These are often rented when someone is buying bottled water regularly. My guess is that this was an eviction or a loss of lease or mortgage problem. How sad for this to happen at all, much less at Christmas. The belongings look like the people were not rich and may have been in that economic situation where the loss of a job or a paycheck can mean the loss of your home. This was possibly a single parent with one or two children. They were either evicted or left quickly to avoid being removed. They probably left quickly and left much behind. Any of these situations are sad. The last I would sadly think of is possible death of one of the parents or even of a child and the people couldn't stand the loss of a child and left. Maybe a DCFS situation where the state took the child(ren) and the parent couldn't stand being in the house without the children. We can't know for sure. That doll on the stairs scared the heck out of me at first! I hope the people who had once lived here were able to get their lives back together. Good job!
Thanks very much, glad you liked it!! Everything i know is in the description but i will give you a quick recap since you took the time to write such a long comment. The last known owner died in 2001, i assume that a family member probably a child lived in the home at some point until 2012 when they had to leave. They were not paying their property taxes, probably do to financial troubles and the home was seized and sold at auction.
@@StaticSpaces Thank you for the update. That's so sad they lost the house. ( I should have read the entire description, before. I watched it on my TV and had to come online to post as it was such a great find and you did a good job.) I hope someone is able to live in it in the near future. You did a great job with the explore! Keep up the good work. :)
I noticed there were no clothes in the closets or in baskets by the washer ? Did you look at the dates on the canned goods in the kitchen ? Also the home canned items should have been dated... that would have been some indication of a time line. Young people don't usually can ! I hope that some professional group came in and packed up all the antiques so they didn't get distroyed. So many memories left behind. The scrapbook with postcards and pictures looked like from a trip to Alaska. Did you get a chance to look in the attached buildings or out buildings. Wondering if there was a car or truck left behind ?
@1:04 min on, THANKYOU for speaking about how disgusting people do mistreat other peoples property. I like it that you are as disgusted as I feel disgusted too ✅ now seeing all of this. The folks that lived here were a 👪 family. The destructive people are dead inside as they put a hole in the wall along with graffiti and broke the two beautiful snow globes and trashed this entire house.
I love this spot. That old nativity needs to be saved from destruction. I'd be taking pics in there all day, anything Christmas and I lose my mind . :)
So many homes that could have been used by others are left abandoned. And if it fall into disrepair it is easier to break into. So if the family had kept it up, maybe no one would have ever broken into it.
I wonder if some of these homes are vacant due to domestic violence. It seems like children would have lived here due to having all the stuffed animals. Sometimes a woman has to flee & leave everything behind for safety for herself & the children. I enjoyed this video & just subscribed. Thank you
seems to be a world wide phenomenon that not many people consider. since 2010 or so, a lot of people and families leave and abandoned homes without taking anything.
I think places like this have been around since before 2010, it's just that there weren't as many people exploring or posting them as much. Thanks for the comment!!
Interesting and sad. That was someone's home and belongings that they cherished. People should have respect even though it is abandoned. That is what remains the memories of someone's life.
It's so sad that people have to destroy things. If someone broke in because they needed a place to get in out of the cold there is no need to destroy or make a total mess. That was someone's life. People need to be more respectful
The even sadder thing is that I would've moved in and taken care of the place until they decided to do something. So many are or are becoming homeless soon and it's so sad these places are just sitting here being ruined.
When I first watched this house be explored it was in much better shape time hasn’t been kind to it which is a shame plus it makes me mad when vandals that just go in and trash it there’s no respect any more I’m happy you respect property’s you go to
It makes me sad to think that someone would go in and trash something that doesn't belong to them. You can tell it was young people that did it just no respect at all.
Abandoned places in Canada and the USA always seem to be vandalized. Many places in Europe aren't as vandalized. I thought maybe it was the same house I saw a couple years ago where the family does in a car accident but I read the comments and saw the story of the previous owner. All the treasures we collect on Earth we can't take it with us when we die. Thanks for the fascinating video 👍
Ya, sometimes places get vandalised quickly in this area but not always. Places do get vandalised in Europe as well but i guess it takes longer in some cases. Either way, i am glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for the comment!!
I agree but i am completely against stealing things too, just leave a place as you found it, you never know if someone will come back for things. Thanks for the comment!!
I've been in abandoned places, like to look around, they're like time capsules of a person's life. Hate it when you get to see them trashed sometimes, never made sense to me why people do that, would love to do that at their house as a payback.
That funny looking plush toy you wondered about around minute 20:47 was i believe called a "Pillow Pal" (or something along those lines) they were popular for a minute in the early to mid 1980s, I had one as a toddler back then, lol. Great video btw, you have a very soothing voice, and are very respectful of the home. Subscribed:)
Ya, someone else mentioned it being a pillow pal too and i don't remember those at all growing up. Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for commenting!!
You mentioned about the description in some of your answers. Now I learn something new. I found out how to find and read the description. I never clicked on that little arrow before The family could of got someone to come in the house and empty it. I am not sure how it works but I believe they pay the family a price and then they take the stuff for resale. The house is emptied and then they can sell it.
Yes, RUclips has been putting less and less emphasis on the description and comments for that matter. It's tough because the answer to many of the questions people are asking me are already there. Glad you found it though! Thanks for the comment!!
Very brave guy I was a little nervous watching you walk through, I hate that someone destroyed the place it makes me so angry how cruel and evil people can be
It must have been a lovely home at one time. How sad and disrespectful that others broke in and vandalized this place. I guess that is why so many explorers won't disclose locations (city nor zip codes) so when they find a pristine house/building, it is less likely vandals will recognize the place and go in it to trash it. Given time, nature will wreak havoc on it, but as to reclaim the land, not to mindlessly destroy. This was a good video, thanks for posting it.
Yes, i agree, nothing you can do about the natural decay but people need to start leaving these places as they find them. Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for the comment!!
This is it. I have been watching dozens of these looking for one that closely resembles my grandmothers house that was built in Hollywood in 1920s and torn down in 1964. They took parts of it and placed them in The Magic Castle private club. Thanks. I recorded this for replay.
Glad you enjoyed it! Why did they use parts of your grandmother's home for The Magic Castle? You know you could just watch it again on my channel and then it helps support me. Either way, thanks very much for the comment!!
Just found your channel. Love the respect that you showed for the house and its contents. I totally agree with you about it being disrespectful to trash the place. Must say that I loved your still photography!
Aside from the mindless, sad trashing of this place, it’s also very sad that there were obviously children and grandchildren of this couple who didn’t care enough about the memories or respect their elders enough to come take away anything meaningful. Hard to believe the property didn’t pass on to one of them. Many of these items could have been used or repurposed before they wasted away, and the property could have carried on to house another family. Great video of this time capsule. Would be neat to know the Story.
Yes, i think the children of the owners did live in the home for a little while, until about 2012. I wasn't able to find out what happened to them or why they stopped paying the property taxes. There's more info in the description. Thanks for the comment!!
Thank You for the Tour. They Were Pound Puppies. It is A shame that Someone Destroyed someone Else’s Thing’s. I Enjoyed Seeing The Christmas Decorations Too.
So sad to see a what must have been a once thriving family home so suddenly abandoned. You don't get the feeling it was an elderly couples place. Maybe a tragedy befell the parents and the kids had to be cared for elsewhere. Its just infuriating that people have to come in and trash everything...mindless and heartless. Thanks for your care and respect for this home.
Yes, that's exactly what I though, even though most of the decor looks as though it's from the 70s, it didn't have that grandparents vibe to it. I think it's because there were too many more modern things in the mix. Then again the last owner died in 2001 and i don't remember seeing much that was newer than that. I think one of there children may have lived in the home for a while after they passed. Thanks for the comment!!
The house outside looks amazingly in good shape. Sad no one bought it. I'm going to guess person passed & family has home & land tied up in probate fighting over it.
No, the previous family lost it after they neglected to pay the property taxes for whatever reason. Then someone else bought it when it was auctioned off. But you are absolutely right the house is in great shape on the outside! Thanks for the comment!!
This house is a Freakin Mess. Must of been vandals that trashed this house. I just started watching you and subscribed to get your videos. It’s like you said who ever went in there had no respect for these peoples home. I think what happened here is that maybe these people were evicted and I don t think they we’re old because all the toys and I saw 2 bicycles there. They either had kids or grandkids. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos.
I think it may be. They cleared the land and completely cleaned out the house. They also tore down the attached sheds and garage. Will see what happens to it in the long run. Thanks very much for your comment!!
I completely agree with you, those vandals are disgusting. The woman died in 2001, so who lived there until 2012, any idea?
@@StaticSpaces ......
Possibly a homeless person then maybe they were ordered to vacate the premises by the local law. Could be several possibles.
Did you know the family and what happened ?
Do you know what state this house is located.
No, i didn't know the family.
I agree. Life is just the moment we breathe.
@@jennifercurtis6071 Truth 🙏❤️
It looked like it was a nice house in its day😩🙁☹️
Makes me angry how people can be so mindless. To vandalize a house is so wrong
I completely agree with you!!
Its like an adfiction for them. And it makes me furious, just look and leve the wau you found it is all they have to do.
Be well.
Thank you very much!!
I really enjoy how respectful you were in this abandoned Home. The way you honored this family by describing their interests was very kind. Thank you.
Thanks for the kind words, it's much appreciated. Thanks for the comment as well!!
It was definitely beautiful in it's day. What the vandals do to houses pisses me off so much.
I completely agree with you!
Thanks for the comment Sharon!!
I agree
good video, yea its sad that people have to come in an destroy other peoples stuff for no reason other than to be a jerk. thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the comment and glad you liked the video!!

Vert sad😟l'm 73 years old I always worried that I will die and and on my home alone and all my precious things what will happen😥
This is so heart-breaking, it was clearly a beautiful home surrounded by a winter wonderland. It's so sad, I'd love to live here. So many people are in need of safe housing and so many houses sit abandoned when they could be loved again.
It was quite an amazing house. Thanks for the comment!!
We had renters, when they move out they took everything that wasn't nail down, Rotted out entry way floor with their dog, knew I shouldn't had been talk into renting to them.
Terrible, i hear about so many tenant horror stories.
so sad, these people who do this are just losers with no purpose who probably never grow up and who feel no regret.. They always seem to find theses homes.
What makes it sad for me is to see all the well-loved toys of children who would have given them names and would not have wanted to see them abandoned like this. - especially so with the teddies and dolls.
Who ever wrote God is dead will find out just how alive God is. People are so cruel and disrespectful.
Thanks for the comment!!
Amen
God is not dead
Amen God is very well alive
Sometimes people it's going true a really dark time they stop believing in God or anything in life!!!
Think before you talk!!!
You are one of those people who people can't count for nothing in life!!!
I love seeing all of this, and at the same time it makes me so sad. All the memories, the vintage items that could've went to someone who would've loved them.
Yes , I agree!
Agreed, those people are like dogs, they have to leave their mark! Lol
@@StaticSpaces Thank you for trying. It is a shame others could not just let the place be.
Means a lot to me that you consider it one of your favourites!! Thanks for the comment!!
Great job!!
Thanks very much, glad you like the content!! Ya IDK about these vandals, there is no logic behind it.
Crazy and heartbreaking to think that family didn’t want to deal with house and left it to deteriorate. That in itself makes a person wonder what transpired within their family dynamics to find it easier just to close the door and walk away.
Ya, I'm not entirely sure that's what happened, it could have been that they just weren't able to deal with it. Thanks for the comment!!
That's great, glad you were able to save some things. What happened to the house, did nobody inherit it? Thanks for the comment!!

Squatters
Christmas Time Capsule
Called the Christmas Time Capsule for very good reason, this home was left in an untouched state for years and remained so until after it was first discovered.

It’s 80’s style

Check out the description, there is some more information about the history of the home and the family. Thanks for the comment!!
I always feel so frustrated and sad when I see a home trashed, vandalized for what reason? Why? What is the harm of just letting it be. The elements would take over soon enough.
Complex answer, but probably a mix of mental illness, homelessness/poverty and fatherless behavior
I think you are most likely right. Thank you both for the comments!!
It makes me so angry when I see what vandals have done to property left abandoned for whatever the reason. Thus, the reason I left law enforcement years ago - I finally acknowledged to self I couldn’t change the criminal. I studied the criminal mind, behavior and sociology instead.
Oh wow, that is quite the job you used to have...i know i could never do it! Thanks for the comment!!
It just breaks my heart that someplace so beautiful is just left to rot.
It's sad alright. Thanks for the comment!!
If he took anything without permission he wouldn't be any better than the people who broke things !
I would love to have seen this place when it was full of life. When I was a kid back in the early 70s they were a lot places like this . me and my pals would go in and explore and rummage but we never made a mess damaged or stolen anything. We just liked to explore.
And that's exactly the way it should be, do it with respect. Thanks for the comment!!
Exactly....this happened to me....
I had an old little cottage lived alone. I became disabled at 40.

WHY do people do things like that? It must have been beautiful once.
Yes, i have no idea why people feel the need to be destructive and i do really hate seeing it. Thank you very much for the comment!!

Hi Peggy how are you doing with your family i do hope you’re safe from the Covid?
This is absolutely horrible for anyone to go in to someone's home and destroy it like whoever did this one day it'll all come back to bite them in the rear end but really would love to know what state this home was in it could be made into such a beautiful home
Thanks for the comment!!
Totally agreed ! What a shame & waste ! Whoever did that, belongs to be locked up !
Looks like a home someone could still use
Definitely is but i think the new owners are only interested in the land.

There wasn't very much, probably easily dealt with but as is it could be a problem

I agree with you, no respect at all.
I try to leave places as i find them or even in better condition. Thanks for the comment!!
Wow..... more than a little sad, people can be disgusting.
I would like to know, what gives people the right to do this to other peoples property ? This just burns my ass.
Nothing gives people the right to pillage these places, i think the people that do this sort of thing have some serious problems they need to deal with. Thanks for the comment!!
You know what burns my ass?? A flame about yea high.lol!!
The fact that it’s not being taken care of , is abandoned, gives them right appearantly
David….I agree with you. I almost got depressed after being pissed off. I’d love to know how this happens in Cities all over. Its mind blowing. Very sad as well.
People who have nothing resent people who do and enjoy destroying things
That is an amazing old home, it’s a shame it was left to rot. It appears there were many, many years of memories in that house, what I find horrible is that anyone could disrespect a person so much to leave their years of memories to rot like that. Be it the children or grandchildren or just family members who left it there. I also realize the person or persons may not have had anyone to clean it out when they passed, that is sad and horrible too. The ones who destroyed it should be hung out to dry…..just saying!
Agreed with everything you said. Thanks for the comment!!
So sad that people destroy what doesn’t belong to them. What I find even sadder is that family didn’t do anything to keep the home. So many homeless people that would have loved to take it.
What makes you say the family didn't do anything to keep the home...for all we know, they did everything they could. Thanks for watching!!
Your pictures were outstanding! Hard to imagine why homes become abandoned.. very sad…. A home once filled with the love and laughter of a family..
It's obvious the owners lives this home at one time. Glad you liked the photos and thanks for the comment!!
This is the first time I've ever seen one of your videos and I love it. You did a great job going through everything. Its a beautiful home. That i wish someone would fix up and bringing life back into it. I feel sorry for whoever lived there that all there family treasures were left behind.
Thanks very much glad you liked it!
Yes, it certainly was an amazing home at one point. Thanks for the comment!!
I sense that was a home full of love and memories. Thank you for sharing!
I have no doubt that it was. Thanks for the comment!!
Shame, shame on all of you, who saw the need to destroy this, once beautifully, loved home.
Always sad to see that sort of thing. Thanks for the comment!!
Ya, i get that. Thanks for the comment!!
I watched it on my TV and had to come online to post as it was such a great find and you did a good job.)
I hope someone is able to live in it in the near future. You did a great job with the explore! Keep up the good work. :)
Thank you very much!!
Elderly couple died off … then someone else came in and lived there till 2011…likely relative but arrears in taxes owed and locked out
I noticed there were no clothes in the closets or in baskets by the washer ?
Did you look at the dates on the canned goods in the kitchen ? Also the home canned items should have been dated... that would have been some indication of a time line. Young people don't usually can ! I hope that some professional group came in and packed up all the antiques so they didn't get distroyed. So many memories left behind. The scrapbook with postcards and pictures looked like from a trip to Alaska. Did you get a chance to look in the attached buildings or out buildings. Wondering if there was a car or truck left behind ?
Great job on this video. So glad you showed up on my page as a suggestion. It’s sad people have to destroy other peoples memories.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!!
Looks like it was once a very warm and inviting house ❤
The house was a home once ... thanks for sharing ... yes there was no respect to this home that's standing still in time ...
Yes, it's sad to see this sort of thing and i think it is worth mentioning. Thanks for the comment!!
I love this spot. That old nativity needs to be saved from destruction. I'd be taking pics in there all day, anything Christmas and I lose my mind . :)
This one was a lot of un to explore.
Glad you enjoyed it!!
So many homes that could have been used by others are left abandoned. And if it fall into disrepair it is easier to break into. So if the family had kept it up, maybe no one would have ever broken into it.
Thanks very much for your comment!!
I wonder if some of these homes are vacant due to domestic violence. It seems like children would have lived here due to having all the stuffed animals. Sometimes a woman has to flee & leave everything behind for safety for herself & the children. I enjoyed this video & just subscribed. Thank you
It's entirely possible. Glad you enjoyed the video!!
I agree, it seems like the children were taken by CPS or the mother fled with her children for some reason.
Anybody ask what happened to family?. Sure house has a owner
Yes, all homes and properties everywhere have an owner, except for Antarctica, thats kind of a no man's land.
She could have got a gun and popped a cap in him then she wouldn't have had to go anywhere.
seems to be a world wide phenomenon that not many people consider.
since 2010 or so, a lot of people and families leave and abandoned homes without taking anything.
I think places like this have been around since before 2010, it's just that there weren't as many people exploring or posting them as much. Thanks for the comment!!
Interesting and sad. That was someone's home and belongings that they cherished. People should have respect even though it is abandoned. That is what remains the memories of someone's life.
Oh yes, i completely agree with you more respect is needed at places like this. Thanks for the comment!!
It's so sad that people have to destroy things. If someone broke in because they needed a place to get in out of the cold there is no need to destroy or make a total mess. That was someone's life. People need to be more respectful
The damage was likely caused by bored kids, that's usually the case anyway. Thanks for the comment!!
Your very respectful. Thank you for being a good person.
Thanks, that means a lot to me!!
I just don't understand how people can have such disrespect for people's property and memories. Trashing the house. It's so sad.....
Sure is. Thanks for the comment!!
Really enjoyed your video. I see a family that enjoyed life and love tbh. Plus I agree about vandalism!
The even sadder thing is that I would've moved in and taken care of the place until they decided to do something. So many are or are becoming homeless soon and it's so sad these places are just sitting here being ruined.
What's shameful is the family this person treasured, so callously refused to deal with this beautiful home after she died.
No they didn't, they stopped paying taxes so it was sold at auction. Maybe they had financial troubles, who knows. Thanks for watching!!
When I first watched this house be explored it was in much better shape time hasn’t been kind to it which is a shame plus it makes me mad when vandals that just go in and trash it there’s no respect any more I’m happy you respect property’s you go to
Ya, it is a real shame what happened to this house. Thanks a lot for commenting!!
It makes me sad to think that someone would go in and trash something that doesn't belong to them. You can tell it was young people that did it just no respect at all.
Yes, probably some kids or teens for sure. Thanks for the comment!!
Sad to me how this persons family disguarded this home, memories, pictures, etc.... like it meant nothing 😔
Just walk away.....So Sad !!
I was just curious what was under the staircase behind that hidden door in the living room
I think I briefly showed the area didn't I? I don't really remember off the top of my head
I’ll never understand why people go in and vandalize a place. Take what you want but leave it untrashed. It just doesn’t make sense.
Ya i will never understand the need to destroy someone else's property. Thanks very much for the comment!!
Very brave guy I was a little nervous watching you walk through, I hate that someone destroyed the place it makes me so angry how cruel and evil people can be
No bravery needed at this place, i actually found it to be a very relaxing explore. Thanks for the comment!!
Just subscribed! Luv this house, lot of vintage details, nice amount of room. Luv the country. Yes sad people come and destroy things
Great, glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for the comment!!
Just ran across this but I really enjoyed. Boy the memories in that house thanks for sharing.
Phillip from Georgia USA
Thanks you, glad you enjoyed it!!
Such a cool building. Can imagine what it would be like living there with a family.
Hello Susan how are you doing with your family i do hope you’re safe from the Covid?
There are kids who are in foster care etc who would love the toys if they could be cleaned and donated... What a shame!
You can go to court house in that county and look up the property and see who it belongs to
So sad that Noone in her family wanted any memories of her.Heartbreaking.And vandals are the worst
Do you ever research the property's and see who owned them and what happened??? Love to know the history.
I research every location i go to and put the details in the description. Thanks for the comment!!
Great video.. thank you so much for your respect for EVERYTHING and you are so right people are so disgusting it's a shame 🤦🏼♀️
Glad you liked it and thanks for the comment!!
So heartbreaking. But it was interesting to see what was untouched: the manger, the folded towels, etc.
Ya, that's what I found a bit odd, usually when these places are trashed, nothing is left untouched. Thanks for the comment!!
The only reason I can think that a house would be suddenly abandon ..would be if they died...
Just found your channel. Love the respect that you showed for the house and its contents. I totally agree with you about it being disrespectful to trash the place. Must say that I loved your still photography!
Thank you, really glad you enjoyed the still photos!!
It looked like it was a beautiful home, it’s so sad that people think they can just go into abandoned places and destroy everything.
I am sure this home was well loved at one time. Thanks for the comment!!
What sick people tearing it up like this‼️
Some people can be so crappy. I just want to do a deep clean on this place!!!
Thank you, glad you liked it!!
@@StaticSpaces l
The house outside looks amazingly in good shape.
Sad no one bought it.
I'm going to guess person passed & family has home & land tied up in probate fighting over it.
No, the previous family lost it after they neglected to pay the property taxes for whatever reason. Then someone else bought it when it was auctioned off. But you are absolutely right the house is in great shape on the outside! Thanks for the comment!!
Very sad.. once was a home filled with love and laughter..
Oh most definitely. Thanks Bev!!
This house is a Freakin Mess. Must of been vandals that trashed this house.
I just started watching you and subscribed to get your videos. It’s like you said
who ever went in there had no respect for these peoples home. I think what
happened here is that maybe these people were evicted and I don t think they
we’re old because all the toys and I saw 2 bicycles there. They either had kids
or grandkids. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos.
Yes, there is lots more info about what happened in the description, you are very close with your ideas. Thanks for the comment!!
Man that house is beautiful😢I just wanna live there is it getting renovated please say it is🙏
I think it may be. They cleared the land and completely cleaned out the house. They also tore down the attached sheds and garage. Will see what happens to it in the long run. Thanks very much for your comment!!
