Crazy how much your RUclips film style has changed over the course of the last year. I found your page a few days ago and have been working my way back through the videos. You have quickly become one of my favorite content producing people. Keep up the great work!
Now that was straight on to the point! Do more of these
YaZeen glad you enjoyed it man! More on the way!
@@DannyGevirtz give us more tip
I could use a pair of these when I look in the mirror in the morning 🤣 Great review Danny!
hahahaha! Thanks for watching bro!
What the filter does to the blacks is interesting, takes the deepness out of them and gives kind of a vintage, smooth look overall. I likey
YES! Loving your content dude! Really looking to more videos from ya!
Thank you Jackson!!! Happy to have you along for the ride brotha!
The value you give is unbelievable. I cant wait to watch you take off!
Glad it’s been helpful bro! Thank you!
As a matter of fact, I WANT that full stop/80s look ;)
Promist filters rock. Love your channel and content man. Hope it grows like crazy!
Thanks my guy! I appreciate your support more than you know!
Appreciate you getting straight to the point! Too many people on RUclips dragggggg out their explanation! Haha
Didn't even know about those.. Dope!
Quick and informative! Love these 💥🤧
thank you for the information and examples I'm looking for! Great video!
Thanks so much for watching! Glad this was helpful for you!
I instant subbed just because you described exactly what I was looking for.
Thank you for the quick info and the test. Helped me make my choice.
Awesome! Thanks!
Loved the vid. Helped me choose a filter right away. 🙌🏽 the look of your vid itself and your personality are dope too!
Thank you so much! I appreciate that a ton. Glad to hear you went with some pro mist!
Straight to the point! Love the approach. Thanks. I subbed!
Thanks so much Darrin! Glad to have you onboard!
Nice video! Really thinking about use my pro mist to film some vlogs.
Love your channel. Keep it coming.
I think smaller sensors like the gh5 need a 1/4. Whereas the 1dx and large sensors work perfect with 1/8
I feel so dumb! I've been shooting video content for quite a while now and I had no idea these existed! I always just tried to take out the digital look in the grading! I'll definitely get myself a couple of those they look super useful. Well done by the way for managing to pack the info into a short video! I love how simple, yet high quality your videos always are. You're proving that you don't need crazy edits, or to do backflips in slow motion to create good quality content. Keep it going dude! :)
Haha they are a nice little thing to have on hand. Mainly for passion projects. I don't use them much if its a boring client. But yeah thanks man! I just like always felt like I was skipping through half the videos I saw on youtube so I felt like that needed to change. I appreciate it man!
@@DannyGevirtz Yeah I'll definitely use them on some film projects I have planned. Im excited for it now I know about these! And yeah I skip a lot of them too! Unless its someone with a really great personality that can hold your attention, theres no need to elongate videos!
1/8 it is my man. Brilliant and to the point. Thank you.
Love your channel and all your content. Keep it short, keep it simple and keep it always straight to the point. Never forget that less is more. Best luck to you and your channel, you rock :)
Absolutely!!! Thanks so much for watching and for all the kind words!!
Yoooo, your content is dooooope as hell!
Krisnare haha thanks so much my guy!!!
Great video man!
Thanks so much brotha! Appreciate you watching
Thank you! Keep up the great work. You’ll have a ton of subscribers in no time.
Juan! Thanks my guy. Maybe one day haha! Just happy you're here.
Like your stuff man keep it up! :)
Thank you such much Shea! Makes me so happy to hear that!!!
been binging your videos during quarantine and I'm now a huge fan. keep it up
Thanks amazing man! Glad I could help you get through this time. Thanks man
Good stuff. Straight and to the point! Subbed!
Thank you so much man! Glad you enjoyed it! Appreciate you
gonna buy ! Thanks for review
For sure! Glad it was helpful.
Do you have any insight on what strength of promist filter correlates with different focal lengths? Like I’ve heard you’ll need a stronger promist strength on longer focal lengths.
That's a good idea of format !!
Keep pushing, you'll have your videos sponsored soon with the quality of content you deliver.
Cheers !!
haha thanks so much man! Ive since abandoned the just the tip
Thank you so much for this content, great tip!
Of course! Thanks!
I like your video because you go straight to the point. Other reviewers tend to talk a lot on non-related things which waste a lot of time.
Oh man, your style is refreshing. Humility in presentation goes a long way! (Heads to B&H to order some filters)
Haha thanks Rob!! Appreciate that
Thanks bro this was really helpful.
Thanks for watching man! So glad to hear that!
this video got you a new sub lol
been looking at the promist filters for awhile.
Happy to have you onboard! Thank you!
Thank you so much for this video!
hey danny,
when pairing this with a variable nd filter during day time
would you use both? or just the black pro mist filter
I saw in another video he said he’s used both.. He puts nd filter on 1st then pro mist. Literally just saw the video yesterday
You said just the tip and I immediately subscribed 😂😂😂
hahahahah! Glad i could reel you in with some sexual inuedos *spelling*. Not everyone was pleased with them
Love the footage Danny! Wanted to. know when you shoot on your 1 DX mark II what's the closet you've gotten to shooting in C-Log or have you tried installing it? Love you work my brother
Do you recommend to reduce the camera sharpening while applying the Promist filter on the lens?
Thank you. This helps me with decision. I would choose 1/8 for my needs.
Thanks man!!
Tiffen should totally sponsor you. Great video! You deserve more views!
Haha that would be sweet. Thanks so much! Appreciate the watch!
Hey Danny, this video was really helpful. But how can I use it if I need to put on ND as well?
What an intro!
Hey Danny, do you use these when you're out and about or a Polarizer? I am trying to think of a way to protect my lens when filming while travelling or working on projects that are outside elements
Hey man! I wouldn't use these unless you intentionally want this look that it creates. They are also not that super cheap. If you want something to just protect the lens I would throw on a UV.
Danny-Great video. Thanks for showing us the difference between the stops. Does the Black Pro-Mist cut much additional light compared to the Pearlescent?
Hey! Thanks so much for watching. It definitely doesn't cut much light
Holy crap Danny, your channel grew FAST!!!
Love it. RUclips is sleeping on you my dude
Hahaha I agree! Jk thanks man!!!
"Just the tip" Reminds me of Archer. 😂Great video nonetheless.
haha love archer!
If I had any friends i'd share ur video hehe, definitely deserves more subsribers...love the title for the series btw, really creative
Hahaha Thank you Dale! You have an online friend in me.
this was great
You just got me as a subscriber, bro!
great! hey did you used a filter or anamorphic lens for those flares at 0:39 ?
Well this was simple and to the point haha thanks man. Keep it up
Justin Porter Media haha glad it was helpful for you! Thanks man!
Danny Gevirtz I’m building my shoulder rig and looking into 4 x 4 filters. Needed to know the differences between them
Do you suggest using pro must filters for landscapes and stuff? Can u thread it on top of a ND filter?
Sick Video mate :)
Thank you brotha!
Just subscribed. What camera and profile did you shoot with?
Do u still sharpen in post when shooting in like a log profile, or do u dont touch sharpening when using pro mist
Good video man! Thanks.
Thank you Amir! Glad you enjoyed!!!
Hi, would you mount it before or after the ND filter? Or it does not matter? Thanks!
I bought the regular 1/8 Pro Mist filter instead of the 1/8 Black Pro Mist filter, will there be a huge difference?
Sold. Got yourself a new subscriber! (Please do more film gear themed videos that other youtubers dont talk about.)
Thanks man!!!! And will do!
I liked this tip!
SO glad to hear that man! Thanks for watching!
Thank You! i hope very soon Tiffin will Sponsor your video!
Haha maybe one day! Thanks Dev.
Hi, could you stack filters with VND? if so does tiffen have treads that i can screw in vnd on top of it?
bro, Tiffen should definitely sponsor you because you sold me... i am a c200 shooter, and i often use the mp4 for corporate interviews, and it definitely has the digital edge. I've not heard of people using it for that purpose... thanks for the tip!
Which one do you find yourself reaching for the most? Feels like the 1/4 is slightly overcooked?
Could you please tell me your opinion between the pro mist and the hollywood black magic filter ?
Thanks
Is this filmed with the c200? Or the 1dx mkii?
Thanks a lot man! The footage at 00:38 looks like anamorphic. What anamorphic lens or filter did you use here?
Thank you brotha! This was shot on a 35mm lomo and used 1/8th of promist
Get this man a sponsor! Really love the content you make!
hahah thanks dude!
Hey Danny, I’m a new subscriber of yours! I love the content that you’re making, and keep doing it! Anyway, I have one question right here to ask you, so can you make a choice of you pick one filter among the 1/4 or 1/8 intensity? Hope you can reply my question!
thanks so much man! 1/8th all day!
@@DannyGevirtz was also my question. Thanks for the specifics.
I love your channel, do you think it is a good option or it is better to do it in post production
But I need to use a variable ND! should I just stack the two?
Which one goes first?
Great vid bro. You get right to the point...hum. Anyway, I have the k&F on order for the 1/8, 82mm to cover all my lenses w/ step-up rings. Thanks. ...Subbed.
Hey Danny! Love your videos and work. I'm curious if you ever had the chance to compare the black pro mist with the black satin?
Thanks man! Nah I haven’t!
Great comparison. Can you confirm whether these are Promist filters, or Black Promist? Gear link takes me to the 1/8 regular Promist.
Ha right on, man. Subscribed
Thank you Brotha!!!! Happy to have you!
Greetings, can you briefly elaborate on the difference between the regular tiffen pro mist filters & the tiffen black pro mist filters? & perhaps how one would choose between the two
Hey man! Black promist retains contrast a little better than normal pro mist while still generating that halation in the highlights. I would go with the black pro mist personally
love your charisma, you seems to be very cool guy!
Thanks a ton Simon! Haha I hope I am
Actually very helpful tip !
Thank you!!
Only clicked cuz of the thumbnail comparison! Great work
Hey man, i’m stuck with choosing 1/4 and 1/8. They said 1/4 is too much and 1/8 is not that enough for some cases. Do you think we can control the mist effect of the 1/4 with just adding contrast or curves? Thanks!
Hey man! I honestly just prefer 1/8th to take the edge off. 1/4 feels like too much for me. I wouldnt rely on post production
just arrived on your channel, good job danny, i will follow your videos, thanks. ciao
Glad you found it! Happy to have you onboard. Thanks so much for watching!
nice demo
The Intro is AYOO
Dope
Which strength do you prefer?
Great title for a show...tough to pull out, I mean pull off 😂
Lol! My guy. Thanks so much dude!
Just found you on RUclips. Nice channel!
Btw, do you always use this version of promist or you also have the classic 4”*4” one? I’m hesitating to invest either on this one or go for the 4*4 one, perhaps your suggestion can help me. 😉 Thanks!
thanks so much! I just own the screw ons but i rent whent i have bigger shoots for matte boxes
@@DannyGevirtz Thanks for replying. Which ND are you pairing it with? I got a SLRMagic VARI ND (screw one), I'm not sure if they'd combine well, specially with the typical polarisation of the Variable ND. Cheers!
How can i use tow filters ?? Like nd and black pro mist
kind of newbee question ....would you ever use an nd and polarizer at the same time. is that possible. does that even make sense?
I've seen you mention you never felt the impact of stacking filters. You use a VND + Black Mist filter, right? You'd suggest that better than buying a VND Mist (from Polar Pro)?
how do you use them with ND Filters? Is there an order to screw them?
Couldn't tell the difference. If you use fog machine is it the same?
look at that, high-energy danny! haha! commenting so this video pops up into your notifs just to remind you of how much more 'YOU' you've become (not that this video isn't great don't get me wrong! 😂)
Good job. Can I use this filter with ND in the same time?
Yes sir! Thank you!
Good video. What camera and lens were used for this shot ?
Thanks man! C200 and a sigma art 24-70 2.8
I've heard of the promist filter being used a lot but never seen it actually used on a tv show/feature that I've worked on. I've never used it myself either.
Its a very subtle difference. You cant see it on a phone but on the computer, you can.
It seems to give the blacks more of a faded look and slight softening of the midtones? When would you use this?
They are used on a lot of commercials and music videos. It just really depends on the style of the video you're going for. When I want it to give it a little more mood and make it look a little less conventional, I'll add it. Sometimes a lens will be too clean and clinical like the canon cine line. It's a preference thing, but something I like to add to my videos. Dslr shooters can benefit from these alot as they typically produce the most digital image.
@@DannyGevirtz I do work on a lot of tv shows and features in my city and I've never seen it being used. But maybe because we always shoot on the Arri cameras?
But ill look into it! Theres a certain look im going for but not sure how to get it. Maybe this would help :)
