So glad I found this, I'm fairly new and really wish there was more DA content. I really think it is the faction for new players since almost everyone starts with space marines but don't want to be cliche and paint them blue. I do hate though, that every single battle report I've seen since pariah nexus they've lost (no idea why but it feels bad)
@@heathhooper3699 even then he would be a glass canon. Imagine 6 inceptors dropping on him lol. Dont know why gw doesnt want loyalist primarchs running around while all of the chaos primarchs, necron ctans and greater demons are quiet usefull.
Cool to find a podcast that talks about Dark Angels. I think the biggest problem, even with the changes, is finding units that can deal consistent damage while not having access to Vowed Targets or Oath Targets or Strat Combos. Consistency seems to be a real issue, and with Strikemasters and Talonmasters no longer being a thing and no clues if they'll return with solutions, this may remain an issue for some time. Awkwardly enough though, while the Deathwing has expanded to include more unit types than Terminators, the strats and enhancements still scream Terminators if you really want to maximize and open up your options. Which is unfortunate. They removed chunks of the Terminator character support and the Deathwing Command Squad, and replaced it with "Deathwing" units that don't utilize anything to the same level of efficiency as Terminators.....and Terminators as a whole are still in a rough spot in the game...... Also, Lazarus can't lead Devastators if I'm not mistaken. Plus the rerolls are locked to the fight phase with Martial Mastery. Would have been a nice touch, but Lazarus will have to continue looking for a "place". Looking forward to the next show.
Heath, dude! If you want a mini for a common D&D race and class, like an elf ranger, don't order an overpriced custom one. Go to Reaper Minis and get one for a fraction of the cost. Or pay the same cost and get like 5 minis, and get free shipping and an extra little gift to boot.
Unless there were some stat changes planed for the future , the companions are still worse then blade guard, because they have no inv save. Azrael can give it to them, but that limits it a one good unit of companions per army and Azrael can't join sonething else AND he has to do melee
Excellent episode as always :)
Thank you!

Welcome aboard!
Indianapolis!? Im in Indy also 🎉
Missed opportunity to make the Lion interact somehow with his "own circle" detachment. +1 to wound detachment rule would make him auto include almost.
Yeah, totally agree. Would love to have him be able to use martial mastery

Great episode, no notes :)

Greatest comment ever.

Yeah, turn out your right about Laz and Zeke. Looks like none of the DW characters can join Devvies. Oh well, would have been cool.
So did any other Dark Angels players find it off that the codex got rid of the strike master but put lore for him in the codex
so weird right? Talon master too
Yeah, we had a wake for him a few episodes ago. RIP, unfortunately. We are just trying to find ways to move forward.

Quite familiar with Reaper, but the whole idea was a custom gift for the significant other. Her being able to design it was part of the gift.

A librarian will give them a 4++.
Their damage output far exceeds BGV, so they are a pure update v BGV except for a slight drop in durability... which is then fixed with a leader.
Pivot rules are totally busted. Poorly written & abusable.
Luckily, they will be reviewed and updated in 6 Months. The waiting for a new edition to see if something got fixed is long gone.
