So, Nathan, few things if i may: - Last automation you've built out of lead, so it will get melted almost instantly. - Radbolt engine doesn't produce any power so you need to add at least 2 solar modules to even use telescope (alone, as it uses 120W). Maybe it would be more beneficial to add manual generator inside rocket. - When aiming your radbolt deflector, you aimed in way that middle storage will never receive radbolts. - When you wiggled pipes trough cabin, you've connected inputs on both ends. - Then, when you decided to use storage tanks - to output their content, you need special outputs inside rocket (one for liquids, one for gasses), not those pre-built (which connects rocket with outside, not with its own storage). - Wouldn't be more ultimate to build infinite gas storage for your hydrogen? All you need is room 2 wide, 3 high, with pump above and two vents below. Output same pipe to both vents and add 3 kg of water on floor (in total, you can use another liquid if you are concerned about state change due high temperature. Thanks for another video!
this is a great comment but I think he has said in previous videos that he thinks infinite storages are a bit cheaty and that's why he uses gas reservoirs and liquid storages instead. feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though
No you're right, but the reason is more aboit performance optimization than being cheaty. I totally failed with the inputs for the rocket because I forgot about these ports. But we still managed to explore space in the next episode;)
since the new update there is a new building: the clothing refasioner. you can use it to upgrade snazzy suit. (maybe warm and cool vest too? idk.) i would also love to see the astroid mining.
1. Vent: - 300 g/s of hydrogen at 500 centigrade could be easily cooled down to bearable temperatures by waste water from the turbines (you have 2000 g/s at 95 centigrade) Still, as you don't have that waste water _constantly_ from gold volcano cooling - nice more direct approach. - Also, thermal shift plate at hydrogen vent injection point and some liquid thermal transfer medium at vent's buttom (nuclear waste will perfectly fitts) could improve heat transfer into steam room. 2. RadRocket: - How do you workarond with radiation? In my experience I've got VERY high levels of radiation inside rocket living module, making it impossible to survive inside for any prolonged period without lead/plastic shielding or radpills (none seen in your design) - You'll NEED some kind of cooling inside rocket silo, as at some point radbolt engine WILL melt even steel automation wires. And this will be only the begining...
Great video, always looking forward to the next episode 😁 But, I think you made a mistake in the radbolt automation? Right now it only turns green, therefore turning off the fueling, when there is no rocket and the engine is full, right? But that's never gonna happen, as the storage won't be full if the rocket is not there 😅 You probably meant to invert the engine output and the and-gate output instead of the rocket output, meaning it only turns on the fueling when the engine needs fuel and the rocket is there
If you put 1 kilo of coal under the rocket on each tile, you can use storage bin to make that happen and you then start the rocket the heat will turn it into refined carbon and that will block the heat afterwards.
@@Nathans-Sandbox I belive if you put more then a kilo you will allso remove more of the radiation but I don't know how much you need but 1 kilo will allow some radiation to get through so you can plant under and mutated the .... Out of it.
Yes, The 1kg was used to allow rads through.. You can add more if you want to block radiation. That's the issue with taking someone's build exactly without looking at why they made the choices they did.
@@jemsterr there are no issues ONLY solutions. I am just giving Nathan a idea he can try out. AND I know why he only used 1 kg as I said to muted plants but what I said is I don't know how many kg would block all radiation if possible.

i always forget too that you can over pressure hot geysers/vents/volcanoes by just installing a Coal tempshift plate on their tile of interest only once the panicked build is finished do i remember that i could have just put the vent on hold 😅😅
@@Nathans-Sandbox sorry Idk how to explain it clearly but when I do a liquid lock and do the coss one when it one block 2 block 1 block and the the 2 block so the dupes can fit and the 2 block get filled with 500kg of water so it can filled the lock but the one you did was not even a full block of water but it still didn't the liquid lock idk you can do that
Only as long as I have the ladders there. Also they only feed it manually if they have nothing else to do, like in the plant farms we had the same issue.

Great video as always Nathan!

I didn't have problems with radiation in space so far.
Hmm... Need to check it. It's quite possible that higher radiation levels in my playthrough was a result of higher difficulty level...
I thought the same.
For the radbolt rocket, you could put some mesh tiles under the loaders to collect the nuclear waste for future use
👍
ellie is my favourite dupe im so glad shes going to get a cooler rocket

lol, named the pokeshell just in time to kill it

In the next episode I remodel a few things with that automation, but only to accomodate the entire radbolt storage instead of just the one chamber.
The heavy watt bridge is transferring heat from the hydrogen vent to the steam turbines, aka your steam room will transfer heat with your turbines

The deflector that you first played around with should point 45° down not straight.
yeah nanthan, you skip the middle chamber as it is set up
Will habe fixed thag during the mext episode.
Not sure if it matters but the ladder bed in the rocket appears to be built backwards.
It arrived installing soon

I think, given the free nature of the hydrogen, it's probably fine to use it pretty liberally.
I'm just wondering if that telescope will work; I think it needs to be directly against a glass window when in a rocket?
It can be anywhere on the rocket it seems.
lovely video 😅💋
Cheers;)
I think you forgot to replace the liquid went, after you introduced the hydrogen generators to the system.
I thought I did, but have to check it then.
You should make it's own system for launching it i think it will be less complicated
Perfected it in the next episode;)
8:14 I thought you need 500kg and 1 block above it to look it in
Can you clarify, not sure what you meant there.

Liquid and gases cannot occupy the same tile, so even if you just have a tiny drop of water it will work, but it is riskier.
Wondering if you realized that your payload opener is being manually fed even with all the automation...
Only as long as I have the ladders there. Also they only feed it manually if they have nothing else to do, like in the plant farms we had the same issue.
Why you just dont send 2 duped to the space i think it will be more effective
One would do nothing about 60-80% of his time (telescoping doesn't take too much time during transit).
