If you calculate the cost per serving size.........pkg states 3.5 servings, say 3.......that is only $1.50 per serving. We could all stand some cutting down on serving sizes!!!!
These might not be cheap, but compare the price to an MRE main entre. Both are about the same price, but with the Hereford, you get a heck of alot more per package. Plus it tastes way better than any MRE entre I've tried. These are perfect for developing a homemade MRE. THANKS FOR THE VID! 👍
@KevinSmith-yh6tl Not a problem. I agree with you 100%. These are very nice for on the go meals and much better than MREs. thanks for the comment and views. Hope you stick around.
Sadly, the scheduled opening of Walmart stores in the Philippines did not happen after the "great pandemic" of 2019. We have only seen sachets of tuna and single slices of Spam in sachets one time in my twelve years as an EX-pat. While expensive for everyday use, they have a place in the pantry. I am currently building a "dorm survival kit" for Beautiful Daughter, to shelter in place after an emergency or disaster. The plan is to buy her time and keep her comfortable until we can extract her from the situation. It would be great if we could change out the sachets every twelve to eighteen months and use the "older" products for practice during camping trips. When you compare this roast beef main to an MRE, the RB is the clear winner. If only we could get them in the PH. MREs have a hefty price along with import and VAT taxes that make them prohibitively expensive. We can ask the management at our favorite supermarket that does stock some American and European products but they are limited to ordering from a list that may not include these items. Thank you Charles for an excellent review.
@NewHampshireJack Good luck Jack. I know so many things I review on the channel are hard to impossible to get in your part of the world. Maybe in the future Wally world will come back and open that store. We can hope.
My mom used to make taquitos out of this. Several cans of the Hereford roast beef some french onion soup mix throw it into a softened tortilla roll it up and deep fry. So amazing. She was a great cook. For the guacamole, add some sour cream and jarred pimentos and diced tomatoes.
If you think that's pricey then you probably want to stay away from Mountain House and other trail meals.
Things like mountain house use to be reasonably priced. Problem is I remember the good old days when everything was cheaper.

True, thanks for the comment and views.
Works well over rice, too. You could bring a little flour or corn starch to thicken up that gravy.
True, Flour is a staple I usually carry.
We had it tonight. Smelled like dog food. And yes my husband said it needed pepper
lol ok. Thanks for the comment and views.
