Anetra won, but they've done double shantays outside of true "ties" before. This would have been justified. I think the real issue was the order of the challenges. Putting the Rusical first would have given Marcia a chance to shine. My complaint this season is that the Top 4 has been obvious since week 3 or 4 and everything has been in service of that. Clearly they didn't want certain queens doing well and went way overboard. We have top 6 queens getting a filler edit.
the way i see it anetra won by a landslide when she made marcia her prop 😂 and i think marcia had a lot of strong moments (loved the trilling face she did lol) but watching it again, she's doing a lot of small moves like pointing around & flicking her hands while anetra's moving her whole body around and i feel like she's moving more w purpose. and i only nitpick them bc it was so enjoyable that it's fun to dissect. i see a lot of ppl saying they "wanted to get rid of marcia before the rusical" and that could be true, but there's no guarantees of double shantays this season either. tbh i think marsh being in the bottom over sasha increases the chances there won't be a double shantay bc sasha vs anetra to boss bitch????.....that's an easy yes for me if i was a producer lol. lastly, there's no guarantee marcia would've won the rusical. she is the best dancer for that kind of challenge, but she wouldn't be singing live and they'd have 0 problem ignoring her (her jan moment) so i don't rly see that as motivation, but i wouldn't count it out in the wild world of reality tv where they feel pressure to create memes in every episode.
They both slayed, however I thought they both won! I’m team Anetra… kinda. If it weren’t for her leaping over Marcia, we’ve seen all those moves before during other episodes 🙊🫠🫠 ISWTFIS!!💯
And Aja acts mad that Anetra ignores her. Like everyone OWES Aja any acknowledgement at all. This keeps happening with Aja. Over and over again. She loves to have Twitter talking about her, and then manufacture a moment where she makes peace with whoever she's fighting that month. Aja is the drama.
Her beef isn't with Anetra though. It's with the community who's defending Anetra in her place, in part by being transphobic. And, honestly, I think that Drag Race (not Anetra) has made a mockery of ballroom.
@@emmanuel7489 That is just not an excuse. RuPaul can, at least, use the correct terminology. Drag and ballroom have a connection. They should both respect each other, no matter in what form. P.S. Not all cities have an active ballroom scene like NYC or LA. I live in Indianapolis. I've looked up and down for balls to attend, have even asked members of the scene, and found nothing noteworthy.
...I think that's why they eliminated Marcia, because they didn't want her to shine in the Rusical. I don't think the producers planned to have her in their top 4, so Marcia winning (and likely by a lot) in such a prestigious challenge would make it difficult to get rid of her in favor of someone else
I don't think they expected her to make it very far because they see all of the girls outfits before the season starts. She clearly didn't have great runways so I don't think they were expecting her to be great at everything else. She never even landed low once before her elimination, has two amazing lipsyncs , can act , is funny and can sew , but she was never meant to make it to the top 4 and if she gets a win in the rusical automatically her track record would be better then mistress and anetra I believe and assuming the top 4/5 is usually acting and a music video where Marcia would have probably done good. They just didn't want her to continue further.
@@JabberWicki I agree with you. I think she could have been top 2 but they weren't planning on her even being final 6. Like it's riggery. I am telling you.
@@nathans.5911 They may want her on vs the world or all stars and honestly, they're not wrong for that. She improved so fast so quick with little direction. The things she is lacking she will be so proficient at by now that she will blow an allstars or vs the world season out of the water. imo.
Luxx was SO SMART to reference rupaul (for the second week in a row). Ru loves himself and always loves queens who remind him of himself (see Bebe & Symoné)
So true! Why more queens don’t do this more often beats me. Of course you have to be smart about it but Ru will give you points if you do it. Lux clearly studied the symone effect
I think the main issue with Loosey (during the entire season) is she literally not having fun at all, she is trying super hard, and we can see it, like part of why spice was so fan beloved was because even when she flopped she was having the time of her life, Loosey even when she wins, she is already thinking about how to win again, rather than enjoining the moment.
Michelle was simply saying marsha3x should've used the tesseract, provided by bubbly to each queen at the beginning of the season, and pause and weave time and space, so she could change her runway look, duhhhh
Her (Marcia) outfit just isn't that well executed. And for all the grief commenters have said about Michelle, her critic is coming from a judges point of view. Loosey was able to create a similar outfit during the competition and was the better outfit out of the two. Since Marcia didn't bother to move away from her original concept, comparisons will be made. She could've move it to instead of a Pageant Queen attacked by her competitors, to a girl attacked by werewolves on her way to the prom.
@@rivendriftwood the difference here is that Loosey made the look in a day and a half that the production reserved for making an outfit, that was also the challenge/runway that week, while Marcia would have to make an outfit with a brand new concept while also preparing for a comedy set and having no time reserved for anything but the comedy challenge. It's a lose lose situation.
this drama is literally Aja vs Herself let’s be fr 😂😂 Anetra is booked and blessed and hasn’t interacted with her at all other than unfollowing and probably blocking her 😂
@@gboyx3 lmaoooooo aja herself uses other culture as her “aesthetic” lets just give an example shall we; her kimono and katana in her act at all star (no one talked abt that) but you go off boo i guess 😂😂😂 yall have double standards when it comes to “appropriation” when it’s about asian’s culture yall be dead and blind about it. btw anetra is japanese decent and you haven’t heard a single word abt that incident from her. (if yall gonna gate keep a culture then maybe you shouldn’t be appropriating other cultures aswell)
@@gboyx3 There are also other ballroom figures who like what Anetra did 🤷🏾♀️. That's why they said it isn't targeted at Anetra directly, but rather the way the show depicts ballroom. Of course you're gonna hear the girls who were on reality shows how they feel about ballroom but there's other people's opinions that contrast. And as someone who has a partner in the ballroom scene in Atlanta (where I currently reside) he finds Anetra's style very good. She just needs to work on her story telling. Personally as I have seen some ki ki functions, Anetra can definitely vogue better than some people I've seen lmao, no shade.
Thank you for being respectful about Salina’s story about her look. We don’t get to hear a lot of Latin stories on this show. And it’s great to have 4 latinas on this season! Also, I low key thought they were gonna give Lux the solo win just to drive Loosey absolutely insane. Edit: I accidentally excluded Jax and Anetra. Instead of 2 l, we have 4.
Migraine sufferer here…I’d have been under a table in the werkroom with a bucket and blanket over me to make a dark cave. Props to Anetra for functioning that much.
Agreed. They can be absolutely debilitating. For her to power through as well as she did was impressive to me. And she doesn’t come across as a whiner either, so I imagine she was hurting worse than she let on.
LITERALLY. THE DARK CAVE W A PUKE BUCKET IS SO REAL. Light, sounds and smells are all a NIGHTMARE. Being functional is SOOO hard. When all her jokes were ab the migraine I was laughing bec ik how it feels to be that mad and in pain😭😭😭🥲❤️
Michelle saying “I heard about your ocular migraines, it won’t be a problem” really irritated me. Because yes you can force yourself to push through but at what cost? If you’re in that much pain your body clearly needs to take a break and rest. It was giving very much Tyra Banks. It’s so hard having migraines FOR THAT REASON. So many people write you off as being over dramatic because they’ve never experienced an actual migraine. Even if they have everyones are different. Some people get dizzy. Some people puke. Etc etc. very invalidating on her part.
@Lil Q couldn't agree more. Sometimes I can "push thru" but other times I'm over a toilet non stop puking & the pain is so bad I can't even think about anything else and then to hear "it's just a headache you're fine" 😑🤨
In season 13, Symone and Olivia both had boxer outfits that were VERY similar in episodes back to back, and also in season 13, Denali and Gottmik both had Car dummy looks (these were a bit more different tho). Don't remember Michelle calling that out.
I agree 700% however I will say they mentioned that a lot of the girls on season 13 used mutual designers and since they can’t say they’re in the show, outfits got “repeated” due to covid and NDA issues
@@LiTTLeDizZyUriNe I'd DEFINITELY buy it! I was hoping that they'd do that when I realized they'd cut the episodes 😢 I guess it's better late than never ❤
Aja needs to understand that by coming for Anetra, she pisses off her own audience! If you loved Aja voguing on season 9 and AS3, you're probably also gonna love Anetra doing that on season 15! I don't want to choose between liking those 2 queens, I love them both!
@@jennapeneueta-snyder200 So when folks aren't skilled at dancing the tango, they're not actually doing the tango and are not allowed to do it? It's just not a position that actually makes sense when you apply it to other styles of dance and instead of seeing this as a good entry point to learning more about Vogue, folks claim having fun is somehow a mockery of the art form? It's just weird gatekeeping rather than being protective and educational.
To be honest, I can't remember aja voguing that much on season 9 and whatever she did do was not very memorable. The only person I remember voguing on season 9 was Nina Bonina Brown. That's it. That's all
It’s funny that Aja can steal from japanese culture in her season when she tried to be a ”japanese doll” and is not japanese or have studied the culture and blame anetra for getting praised for vouging. The hypocrisy of it all
@@diskgabiru the point is not that they where both wrong but people are pointing out the hypocrisy… also this is a reality TV show that gave 8mins to this…. It’s not like the whole show was based on ballroom dancing… get a grip gurl…
@@ianuy3346 what hypocrisy 😂 if we wanna talk about it Anetra got her whole aesthetic from ballroom which is black😂 aja never said she was a Japanese doll she used a katana once
@@_exsencefx used a katana once? 🤥she does mention her style is inspired by tokyo in her entrance and even copy anime hairstyle many times on the runway
This was for sure the time for a double shantay, I was so entertained and they played off each other beautifully (I loathe when you see the queens trying to block the other or one up them in a mean way, vs a playful way, it's so easy to tell the difference)
I honestly laughed more at Marciax3 routine than I did with Sasha, Anetra, Salina and Mistress. The judging was really off to me but oh well Sasha vs Anetra would’ve had to be a double shantay since they are for sure in the top 4
That lipsync between anetra and marcia x3 was so good, I personally thought it was better that anetra v sasha (and that's saying something.) Also, Aja needs to stop obsessing over voguing thinking that she "invented it." It's a dance, which is art, which can be interpreted different ways.
Salina’s comedy set look was criticized by the judges because of the simplicity, etc. What makes my head hurt though, is that Salina has the most clear cultural references in her looks and people don’t get it! The coat she wore was made of the rose blanket that pretty much any Latin household has at home, and the simple dress was a reference to the tías who goes to her friend who is a seamstress and asks for a replica of an expensive dress they saw on a store window. Salina has been so consistent with those references and nobody is paying attention. Her runway look this episode and her story was great too, and I wish she was given the time to explain more during the confessional. As for the bottom two, I am certain they wanted to get rid of Salina this episode but couldn’t justify it based on her set. Anetra on the bottom was painful, but understandable. Mistress should’ve been the other one. After seeing the lip-sink though, I was certain this was going to be a double safe. C’mon! That was one of the best lip-sinks in RuPaul’s herstory! It was the perfect song, for the perfect pair who have completely different styles and yet complimented and competed so well on the stage. It was perfection.
I've grown to really love Salina and I really appreciate her references (also consistently stunning mug, one of the most beautiful this season) as they're an entry point into a culture I'm not super familiar with - didn't know about that rose blanket and that is so cool!! That being said, though, construction/execution often fails her and diminishes their impact sadly imo. :l But totally agree on the rigged bottom two and lip sync outcome, they've been trying to get rid of Marcia since the moment they realised her gimmick wasn't enough but she was still not doing that bad. I can sense a similar thing coming Salina's way next week and I'm already annoyed at the weird season she'll have had (hope I'm wrong tho!).
Yesss, Salina just has a different style, not no style, and they just think it’s inferior and that’s crap. I love how she is just such a powerhouse performer that she keeps surviving and advancing despite having such bias against her. They’ll use her for entertainment in confessionals but give her hardly any praise for stuff like her phenomenal body, attention to detail, clear point of view, listening to and applying critiques, amazing stage presence, ugh she’s so great and so overlooked on this season!
I agree up to a certain point but it just isn't elevated enough. I love all of her concepts but it's always two things that fall short. Like she just needs more fundamentals.
@@ganjabarb But she brought the dress from home unlike Loosey. That is why the critique by Michelle was stupid. Marcia had no time to change her concept.
@@ganjabarb ugly and uncreative (like most are saying,) ARE valid reasons. Copying cannot be unless they want their contestants to be even MORE unhealthy by staying up all night. Like … the girls are already starving themselves because of the workload.
They were trying to justify her bottom two placement. Marcia could have came out in the most insane runway with shit-ton of makeup and they’d still find a reason to make her lip sync (or put Salina in the bottom two)
The mini challenge was just lighthearted fun that is going to introduce a wider audience to the concept of ballroom and encourage people to look up actual voguing. This gatekeeping bullshit in the lgbtq community is exhausting. We'll never be accepted if we can't accept each other.
Exactly! It was a goofy nod to ballroom. RuPaul references Paris is Burning so often, there’s no disrespect. I think members of LGBTQIA community wants to become gatekeepers because they experienced gatekeeping, so they see it as their chance to balance it out???
I feel like if you believe all the girls recently "spilling behind the scenes tea" claiming they actually didn't do that bad in challenges they went home on, you'd be forced to conclude that no one did anything poorly all season. Maybe they cut part of your routine, but that's no guarantee any of it was funny.
Right!? I’m getting kinda tired of the long winded explanations and re-contextualisations we are getting every week. Don’t get me wrong, I understand the Queens urge to let everyone know if they feel the edit didn’t do them justice, but it’s getting a bit much now. If the explanations are all to be believed, all the girls did amazing at all the challenges. It’s reality TV, there’s always gonna be editing, I think we all just need to chill and enjoy the “show”
@@minkie4155 Yeah to be fair you've gotta feel for the queens; it's a catch 22 situation. Because if you want to make a name for yourself as a drag queen, Drag Race kinda has a monopoly on the art form. But if you go on the show and you (possibly through no fault of your own) look foolish or mean, your DMs will be filled with death threats and hate speech, and your bookings will plummet until you appear on All Stars and beat 6 people in a series of lip syncs. If the fans could agree to just chill the eff out and remember that it's basically a kind of semi-fiction, and that doing poorly on the show doesn't make someone a bad drag artist, then maybe the queens could agree to cool it with the constant "They cut all my funny jokes" rants at Rosco's. If only huh?
That’s definitely a truth, I think Malaysia was probably bad. But myself and others (like busy’s recaps) are not agreeing with who is getting eliminated each week. The edited content we’re watching isn’t convincing us, so I’m not surprised that in the real version the queens would have been even better.
@@sarahsimon5463 Oh for sure and I frequently agree with BQ or others who argue that the bottom placements tend to be a little wonky. And for example I agree that Marcia was middle of the pack out of what we saw, far from the second worst. I'm just commenting in general how these days every week the eliminated queen goes to Rosco's or in some interview to argue that actually they slayed and all their best stuff was edited out. It might be true in some cases, and I often don't agree with the bottom two (this week included). My initial comment was actually more about Mistress rather than Marcia but that's neither here nor there. It's more about a general trend rather than any one specific queen.
I don't understand Aja... imagine being mad at someone for not being as good as you at something? plus like... Anetra NEVER said she was a dancing queen or anything, she never said she was a pro voguer, there are MANY other queens who have vogued on DR and some were terrible at it yet they didn't recieve backlash
I had this conversation with my boyfriend about Aja being salty and jealous of Anetra. But in general, I don’t think none of the girls have made fun of the ballroom culture, but doing their best with the knowledge they have. Anetra might not be a part of the ballroom scene, she still killed that Talent showcase and still kills it on every lip sync. Instead of criticizing her for not being perfect or accurate the old art form, maybe she should’ve extended an invitation to her scene.
(NOT AN EXPERT) I've been to a few vouging classes and balls with international jury. There was one female performer with vouging style like Salina's and she was praised for it and won in her category (which was surprising for me as I enjoyed other performers much more). I know nothing about proper american lingo, but as for dancing style Anetra and Sasha seems to do vouging justice!
@@jamespadilionijr8362 Yes, we learned about five elements in class. It's not consistent among vouging styles. We have new way, old way, femme... I've seen some unique performes with moves that cannot be easily defined or named. Also, there is heavy editing included in the show.
I thought Mistress showed incredibly sharp thinking with how she approached the mini challenge. She knew she'd be overshadowed if she was loyal to the art form, so she played to her strength as an insult comic and made a hilarious commentary on the other girls' performances.
The Ludwig and Kurtis references have confirmed for me that Bussy watches all the same shit I do when it's not drag content lol. And I love seeing the overlap in the comments
Well Anetra is part Puerto Rican, just like many of the voguing originators. I say this because in one her tweets Aja mentioned Voguing being a hispanic and black art form.
Idk about the whole vogueing debate, if it was not for rpdr, I would have never heard about vogueing from central europe, and queer culture in general. Can we get icons of the vogueing art form for the show to give the queens a masterclass about it? Absolutely.
There's a lot of truth to this. Unfortunately, if not for RPDR, there'd be no Legendary. At least not in 2020+. And that's not an excuse to be disrespectful but I can't think of any queen who has claimed to vogue at a high level on the show
Honestly same. RPDR was my first exposure to drag culture to begin with and it very rapidly became my favorite show of all time. I respect the history so much now but being someone that has never been exposed to that type of culture, RPDR educated me and made me interested in it! ❤️
Marcia was low key the person that will come out with the most favorable edit and results this season. She's gonna be very in demand. She took criticism with good humor, she kind of became a victim at a certain point b/c the judges and the other girls were really relentless about her makeup etc. She was a fantastic lip syncer and also was the brokest one with the least connections so she MADE pretty much her ENTIRE runway looks for the season. If I were her when I'm asked for all stars (which she will be) I'd say no the first time but by the second? Yeah, she would have money to spend and will eat the girls up!
Marcia, based on the edit, comes across as a little ditzy but a total sweetheart. But the problem with Marcia x 3 is that she hasn't quite found her drag voice yet. She leaned on the Marcia Brady gimmick for the first few episodes but then, as it turned out, she really didn't have very much else after that. It was probably not a good idea to frame her entire drag persona around such a narrow concept. I'm not sure how she's going to grow unless she decides to completely rebrand herself.
@@pietrofattorello to me it got to a point where her edit was so poor and her critiques so absurd that people will end up feeling like she deserved more. being the injusticed on a season can get a queen very very far
I forgot it was Barbie, too, bc Kurtis also used to sample the Bratz "EWWWwww" a lot lol. I'm sure Bus didn't realize it was Barbie til she put the clip in later
It’s not like the show was trying to push the mini challenge as the end all be all perfect example for vogueing. It was just for fun. Everyone watching understands there is more culture to vogueing and ballroom dance than what was shown. There’s room for everyone on the dance floor
Was searching for this comment!! If the category was destroyed or damaged or SOMETHING fine. But it was ripped to shreds. That means shredded. Ripped. Not singed and burned. Surprised it got such praise.
@@Stephy2185 I wouldn't be surprised it this could possibly be a case where they gave the queens a slightly different prompt description than what they said on the runway.
This vid always lets you see the lewks for so much longer and in better quality and I stay noticing details I didn’t from the episode. For example in this vid I noticed Loosey taking one from sugar & spice’s playbook on the comedy stage with her butterfly hair clips 😍
I am too. I loved LOVED the pink/black runway look. She killed it! And with a migraine! Her & Sasha are my faves this season 🩷🖤🩷🖤 I love her "detox" style of make up as well. 💖
Bussica, did you hear about Willam at Mistress's gig in WeHo and a Drag Race producer tried to refuse Willam from asking Mistress a question during Q&A? The gall of the production staff will never crease to amaze.
Ikr 😭 how is voguing going to be accepted by the whole world when “voguers” always want to gatekeep the dance form WITHIN the queer community? 🥴🥴🥴 Even the word ‘vogue’ is not original lmao
I get why people in the ballroom scene are annoyed. What I don't get is how much people blow it up. I wish they would just educate and let people enjoy the art.

There really was absolutely nothing Marcia could do to save herself this episode. She did a good stand up routine, served a good look, and killed the lip sync. 😂
Honestly, they should've put Sasha and Anetra in the bottom. I could imagine Sasha equally turning it out. And producers actually care about Sasha/Anetra. Would've been a justified double shantay. But it seems like they wanted to get Marcia out because they knew she would slay the Rusical.
i am assuming they don't have double shantays this season or else they probably would've done that. there's no guarantee marcia would've won. she hasn't won so far. the musical is lipsynced and not sung live. and they could easily boot her after if they wanted since she has a weak track record.
I will say that rupaul drag race inspired me to educate myself on the history of lgbtq+ culture as it was just a stepping stone and gave me enough information to then go research and understand the background behind all the lingo and terminology used. It led me to documentaries like Paris is Burning and the Queen. I re-call drag race even doing sessions either during the reunion or the season re-cap (S3, s4, s5) about gay culture and informing the audience about the background of certain important lgbt history. Very grateful to the show for that.
Loosey is so focused on winning that she forgets to have fun and let loose. There is a bitterness even when she's doing well and its just hard to watch.
Is voguing like the metal of dance? basically just the audience of a genre obsessed with excluding artists/performers from the genre so the art form can be it’s “truest form” without understanding that art can’t be static or isolated?
I love how now Michelle's asking for queens to change their look bc someone else wore something similar before but when it happened to Symone and Olivia with the boxing looks it was all good. Very Rock M. Sakura getting sent home for doing a fart joke and Daytona Wind happening years later
15:27 Love Kurtis Connor. Love that you mentioned him. It was a Barbie movie. Love you. And yes that moment lives rent free in my head I think about it every single time I hear the word ball or balls
Aja no longer celebrates drag for her own reasons and is now projecting onto others... She is clearly gatekeeping without the qualifications... Drag race celebrates, it does not discriminate... Pay that girl no mind.
she literally has the qualifications, she was the mother of the house of LABEIJA and she's been in ballroom for YEARS, legends and icons of ballroom have spoken out in support of aja like girl please stand to the side
Tbf, drag race barely brushes on. And the way RuPaul was coordinating that challenge gave some real "I'm so into voguing right now" vibes. It didn't feel as celebratory of voguing, It felt like "Let's take what is most marketable and forget the rest".
Given that RPDR often has guests to judge mini challenges, I think the show could have invited someone from the ballroom community to judge the challenge and choose the winner -- possibly even throw some light shade on the girls who were less successful. The question is: would someone from the community want to do this? Who knows. At the very least it would have truly put a spotlight on ballroom, its community, and have allowed them to be arbitrator of good (and bad) voguing.
They have Michelle- they have her father- they have access to the people in her house…. they have former contestants who are in ballroom… If they wanted to bring ballroom in they could… but they don’t…. and therein lies the issue ballroom has with RPDR and even Ru specifically- claiming pieces of a culture that you dismiss and relegate to 2nd tier status….
Imagine starting an entire beef with yourself while the person you’re upset at never replies and then you forgive them while they did not reply once 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I definitely expected a double shante on this one! Ms Marcia did her damn THING against the fab Anetra! Marcia should be extremely proud of her performance. I also agree w/ another poster that this lip sync was better than the sasha vs anetra one 🤷🏾♀️. Now let me go back and watch it again! 🍿🍿
two weeks in a row lux wore outfits inspired by rupaul. im kinda surprised she didnt get criticized for that, yet marsha got yelled at for doing something similar to another contestant a few weeks prior.
I think it doesn’t really count as another outfit inspired by RuPaul since last week’s challenge was to emulate Beyoncé. i’m sure luxx knew that Ru had worn it before but it wasn’t a direct inspiration if that makes sense so that’s probably why they didn’t say anything.
Very happy for 90 minute episodes but imo if a team won the challenge, team should have also been in the bottom, I like Sasha and Anetra but they were the worst - it was 2 of them working on the set, Marcia was alone, so imo she should have been saved and between Anetra and Sasha it could have been a double safe or something dunno. But its sad that Marcia went home challenge before musical, which I really wanted to see her win
I got the sense that sasha and anetra either ran out of material due to the limited timeframe or blanked what material they did have due to not having time to commit it to memory -- and so sasha started riffing (i.e. the ball joke) based on either what she wrote when anetra was ill or improvising.
Honestly I’m so disgusted by all the voguing outrage, when ballroom was underrated and underground they complained about not being mainstream, so now that it is mainstream it’s now so disrespectful to do anything ballroom related. If that’s the case stop showcasing it then, let Aja and the rest of the community keep it locked away for themselves to enjoy then, omg it’s infuriating 😅
Who complained about not being mainstream? I remember some complaining about people not citing the source of the dance style but never about being mainstream.
It’s the only way they feel special , the gate keeping. They think there’s only one slice of pie for the whole world when really there’s infinite pie to enjoy
It’s not mainstream lmfao. If it was mainstream there wouldn’t be a reason to constantly correct the terms etc thatre misused or mocked on the show. What’s mainstream now is DRAG, which is totally different than ballroom performance except in drags category.
This episode was so awesome it def deserves a follow! You’re so entertaining and the analysis of the episode was SPOT ON I agree with every single thing you said!! Fantastic video and very excited to see more now!! 💖💜💙
lmao not aja getting heated up abt voguing when she literally used kimono and katana as her aesthetic in her act 😭 plus her drag name is from a bollywood actress lmaoooooo stfu abt “appropriation” when u urself is doing it. btw anetra is a japanese decent dear and no one heard abt her complaining to aja’s persistent romanticization of asian culture especially Japanese culture. aja vs herself pure attention grabber moments
Omg I am so glad you brought up that comment Michelle had for Marcia. When Michelle said she “should’ve done something else” I literally said WHAT!?!?!? like I just…. What!?? UnREAL
It seems that Anetra did have an Ocular Migriane and trust me those are devastating. I'm surprised she lasted as well as she did. And then unfortunately their subject matter was half baked (pun intended) . And I did not love Sacha as Patsy Stone LOl, But Sacha's runway was my fav and best to hit mark. And thank you, I loved this Lipsync! I don't know how some people are saying Anetra mopped up the stage. Um No. Marcia Cubed held her own and kept up absolutely!
Yup. I get them. Just had to tap out of work because I can’t stop dry heaving. Bussy is keeping me company as I hug the toilet until the meds kick in. My respect for Anetra increased tenfold even before the Free Willy moment.
@Ginger Kid hope the Maxalt kicked in!! 🙏 Nothing worse than waiting for migraine meds & hoping you don't puke them up! Esp when they cost almost 15 bucks a pill!!
Here's my two cents: yes, Anetra and Sasha should've been in the bottom two (and it BREAKS my heart to even think about it), but next week it's the Rusical and my guess is there's a limited number of roles, it would be very hard to insert another one in case of a double shantay. Sooo a double shantay wasn't possible this week and I believe production prefers to keep this option in case of an Anetra VS Sasha lipsync 🤷♀ I think the judges picked Marciax3 because she showed what she could at the time, she's a cool artist but she needs some blossoming before returning to an All Stars competition ☺Wrong place wrong time for Marciax3 but what a way to go! (Love you Bussy ✌)
Aja loves what she does, that's why she cares so much. Her reactions just come off as gatekeeping, and I think RPDR is trying to reach a wider audience outside of the ballroom scene and is more bringing Voguing 101 vibes for the uneducated to get their first exposure to the art.
I mean, it was a mini-challenge. None of them claim to be ballroom performers, or even moderately trained in ballroom. I'm confused as what the issue is.
I know right, I think Aja is just petty because I know ballroom, and the icons and I never seen her battle atleast no one titled legend or icon.. If anything Anetra who really did great is bringing a light to under ground ballroom, so Aja is being very petty and looks like she needs attention
if you’re not trained in it, if you’re not part of the culture, then why do it? and to be honest the real Icons and Pioneers of ballroom don’t want all of that light in every way… that’s an internal fight in itself…. there is a legitimate concern of not just appropriation but outright stealing and erasure of its true roots.
@S Nicole nonsense, if ballroom was to stay underground then we would never see icons and legends pulling it mainstream. We would never see Willi Ninja, icon Leiomy and pushed to include it into the world of dance. Legends and icons record themselves to be seen. The history of vogue is a necessity to be brought mainstream by the legends and icons. Listen to the interviews mama
@@SNicolesPlace "If you're not trained in it, if you're not part of the culture, then why do it?" Because they were told to. That was the challenge. Are they supposed to say "Sorry, I don't know how to vogue" and leave the set???
@@yoboi01 thanks-- don't have to listen to the interviews... i talk to them myself.... 20+ years in. It's interesting your bring up the names of those 2... while both have undeniable talent that has shaped modern day ballroom if you listen to interviews you will hear how a large portion of ballroom feels those individuals sell the culture to the highest bidder through their classes and other things. There are other Icons that have put ballrom into the face of mainstream-- but there is a BIG difference between doing that and giving it away. Legendary put ballroom in mainstream in a way that centered peopel in ballroom and not outsiders. Our House put ballroom in the mainstream -- it put ballroom people there. While Willi and Leiomy hold their place in ballroom and do serve as talking heads at times... for a nuanced conversation talk to Pony and Janese who actually formed Vogue Evolution, talk to Kevin Omni, RR Chanel, Tony Revlon, Andre Mizrahi, Larry Ebony, Ricky Allure and so many more.... some agree with your viewpoint some don't... but it might help get a clearer view....
Honestly the noguing drama is played out for me. People need to understand you can't take ownership over art forms. Voguing is a queer art form that should and WILL be shared with the world, whether the voguing community likes it or not. We ain't in underground NY anymore. The thing is are we really gonna stir up shit to gatekeep our OWN community for learning, having fun and expressing ourselves through our OWN artform just to keep being the better one at it? Damn. I get that when you dedicate your life to an art form you want to see it treated with the same respect that tou give to it, however this is late stage capitalism we're talking about, cope and deal with the reality that your art is a fucking product, or become a commie fuck like the rest of us.
There was several seconds during the lip sync where Marcia just walked from one part of the stage to the other and then to the back. I remember thinking she was either losing energy or needed room for something she wanted to do. And that's the only reason why I think anetra won. Literally that's it.
The only reason???? Anitra one because she annihilated that lip sync, I'm pretty confident in saying that most viewers knew Marshall would not send Anitra packing LMFAO.....But the fact that Marcia didn't get to stay, I definitely don't agree with it. Should have been a double save.
@@daoneken I should have said that's the only reason it shouldn't have been a double shantay. Anetra absolutely killed it and kept the energy and moves up the whole time.
The fact that there’s arguing about voguing when our community is under attack by lawmakers astounds me. Put your energy into that fight. And if you’re still upset about it, how about focus your energy into EDUCATING those who you believe are ignorant.
I appreciate Aja and her opinion but girl where was that energy on Legendary? Because what I saw from her and her House wasnt giving 10s across the board🙄.

It was 50/50 imo.
the way i see it anetra won by a landslide when she made marcia her prop 😂 and i think marcia had a lot of strong moments (loved the trilling face she did lol) but watching it again, she's doing a lot of small moves like pointing around & flicking her hands while anetra's moving her whole body around and i feel like she's moving more w purpose. and i only nitpick them bc it was so enjoyable that it's fun to dissect.
i see a lot of ppl saying they "wanted to get rid of marcia before the rusical" and that could be true, but there's no guarantees of double shantays this season either. tbh i think marsh being in the bottom over sasha increases the chances there won't be a double shantay bc sasha vs anetra to boss bitch????.....that's an easy yes for me if i was a producer lol.
lastly, there's no guarantee marcia would've won the rusical. she is the best dancer for that kind of challenge, but she wouldn't be singing live and they'd have 0 problem ignoring her (her jan moment) so i don't rly see that as motivation, but i wouldn't count it out in the wild world of reality tv where they feel pressure to create memes in every episode.
There have been many, many lip syncs that were far less worthy of a double shantay but still got one (last season alone).
They both slayed, however I thought they both won! I’m team Anetra… kinda. If it weren’t for her leaping over Marcia, we’ve seen all those moves before during other episodes 🙊🫠🫠 ISWTFIS!!💯
The way anetra never once clapped back at aja is so funny to me cause it makes aja look crazy with this one sided "beef" 💀
Anetra is busy in California being booked and blessed 💅🏻👀😂
And Aja acts mad that Anetra ignores her. Like everyone OWES Aja any acknowledgement at all. This keeps happening with Aja. Over and over again. She loves to have Twitter talking about her, and then manufacture a moment where she makes peace with whoever she's fighting that month. Aja is the drama.
Her beef isn't with Anetra though. It's with the community who's defending Anetra in her place, in part by being transphobic. And, honestly, I think that Drag Race (not Anetra) has made a mockery of ballroom.
Anetra is giving her social media the "winner's edit."
It is truly a crime that they did the rusical right after Marcia got eliminated 😭
...I think that's why they eliminated Marcia, because they didn't want her to shine in the Rusical. I don't think the producers planned to have her in their top 4, so Marcia winning (and likely by a lot) in such a prestigious challenge would make it difficult to get rid of her in favor of someone else
Right?! Rigged!!
We were all robbed, because we’re the ones that will never get to see Marcia in the Rusicle. 💔

The other queens have said otherwise. It's called editing. You guys love to base your decisions on a queen from a edited tv show.

Girl! As a superhero nerd, this crakced me up. Love XD
Basically
@@dylanlabon9667same 😂😂😂
@@rivendriftwood the difference here is that Loosey made the look in a day and a half that the production reserved for making an outfit, that was also the challenge/runway that week, while Marcia would have to make an outfit with a brand new concept while also preparing for a comedy set and having no time reserved for anything but the comedy challenge. It's a lose lose situation.

So many people write you off as being over dramatic because they’ve never experienced an actual migraine. Even if they have everyones are different. Some people get dizzy. Some people puke. I agree 700% however I will say they mentioned that a lot of the girls on season 13 used mutual designers and since they can’t say they’re in the show, outfits got “repeated” due to covid and NDA issues
There's not really a way to know they called it out because of the editing and storyline the production was going for for those contestants.
Also Olivia straight up wore Kandy’s wig from her bag ball look and it was a very specific memorable wig.

That lipsync between anetra and marcia x3 was so good, I personally thought it was better that anetra v sasha (and that's saying something.)
Also, Aja needs to stop obsessing over voguing thinking that she "invented it." It's a dance, which is art, which can be interpreted different ways.
But Salina needs a stylist. The taste level….. 🤢
Salina sucks
I agree up to a certain point but it just isn't elevated enough. I love all of her concepts but it's always two things that fall short. Like she just needs more fundamentals.
I really don’t think Marcia x3 did bad at all last week!
Tbh she set herself up with that dress. If her copying Loosey wasn’t bad enough- the dress itself was just ugly.

If the fans could agree to just chill the eff out and remember that it's basically a kind of semi-fiction, and that doing poorly on the show doesn't make someone a bad drag artist, then maybe the queens could agree to cool it with the constant "They cut all my funny jokes" rants at Rosco's.

And then the producers will eff her over for all stars too…. But at least she’d get the re-exposure
favorable edit? she literally had ZERO storyline

If Marcia got rid of the sash she could’ve gone as Cinderella after the step sisters ripped her to shreds.
It’s not like the show was trying to push the mini challenge as the end all be all perfect example for vogueing. It was just for fun. Everyone watching understands there is more culture to vogueing and ballroom dance than what was shown. There’s room for everyone on the dance floor
Aja is giving the rpdrcringe sub reddit so much content rn
Is Mistress’s look ripped to shreds or burned I didn’t get ripped from her look?
Ooooh that’s a a great point!!! I didn’t even think of that, but you are 100% right!!! Not shredded!
Was searching for this comment!! If the category was destroyed or damaged or SOMETHING fine. But it was ripped to shreds. That means shredded. Ripped. Not singed and burned. Surprised it got such praise.
Marcia’s wasn’t shredded either. It was just a nightgown that had a few little tears
@@ganjabarb Marcia’s look was shredded
@@Stephy2185 I wouldn't be surprised it this could possibly be a case where they gave the queens a slightly different prompt description than what they said on the runway.
This vid always lets you see the lewks for so much longer and in better quality and I stay noticing details I didn’t from the episode. For example in this vid I noticed Loosey taking one from sugar & spice’s playbook on the comedy stage with her butterfly hair clips 😍
Loosey could elevate this look by matching her makeup color to the dress!
She explained that she only got an hour to de-drag from comedy stage to runway. Her actual look on her insta is better.
Fr if Marcia had a catsuit that would've been a double shantay, that shredded gown really held her back
Should have been a double save! And right before the rusical!?!!!
PS. I am consistently falling more in love with the incredible Anetra every week so... just saying
Do you know what the question was?
Lux was just amazing
“Applause for that joke and her comedy ain’t half bad either “ lmao 😂😂😂 I couldn’t
The voguing drama is so stupid tbh... everyone has the right to dance however they want 😒

I get why people in the ballroom scene are annoyed. What I don't get is how much people blow it up. I wish they would just educate and let people enjoy the art.
Yvie walked in that denim look so Sasha could run. Gorgeous

That makes no sense. Mistress and Marcia were by far worse than Sasha

This is exactly what I was just saying to my friends. Exactly.
Thank the lord that Lux finally had a different silhouette on her run way.
Bussy mentioning Kurtis Connor's "balls" is the crossover I didn't know I needed!
“Drama between the two ” there was never drama between the two it was just a Fight Aja kept pushing on
THE NERVE to call Barbie a bratz doll movie💀
innocent mistake I just remembered it was from that Barbie Vs Bratz video he did lol !!
Anetra cleared my skin & cured my depression with that lip sync 🔥
Is voguing like the metal of dance? basically just the audience of a genre obsessed with excluding artists/performers from the genre so the art form can be it’s “truest form” without understanding that art can’t be static or isolated?
Okay yes to the Kurtis Conner balls thing 😂😂😂😂
NEVER thought that Bussy and Kurtis Conner would come so close but Im so glad. Love you both hahahahaha
I love how now Michelle's asking for queens to change their look bc someone else wore something similar before but when it happened to Symone and Olivia with the boxing looks it was all good. Very Rock M. Sakura getting sent home for doing a fart joke and Daytona Wind happening years later
OMG SO AMAZED TO KNOW THAT YOU KNOW THE BALLS MEME FROM CURTIS I JUST COILDN’T THINK OF ANYTHING ELSE SO GLAD SOMEONE ALSO UNDERSTANDS ME
15:27 Love Kurtis Connor.
Shut up lol
Tbf, drag race barely brushes on. And the way RuPaul was coordinating that challenge gave some real "I'm so into voguing right now" vibes.
It didn't feel as celebratory of voguing, It felt like "Let's take what is most marketable and forget the rest".
When Loosey turned the corner, my mind went directly to Alaska's Poundcake. Couldn't unsee it!
I I agree! That would have been great!
Drag Race at least has access to Mariah Balenciaga.
Imagine starting an entire beef with yourself while the person you’re upset at never replies and then you forgive them while they did not reply once 😂😂😂😂😂😂
probably they didn’t placed sasha in the btm 2 with anetra bc they knew that either way they would’ve lost one of the top4 queens
For Mistresses look I don't think burned is the same as ripped to shreds.
Lol who was yelling
But Lux looked good
They were two completely different looks and they were not similar to anyone else's.
If there’s anything Ru loves…it’s Ru
Rupaul looking at the producers right after the lipsync to confirm hoping it was a double shantay lol. The judges are puppets!
Marcia and Loosey's crying pageant queen looks were both giving me Hole's ICONIC Live Through This album cover.
I loved RuPaul's can tab dress this week. She looked amazing!
I got the sense that sasha and anetra either ran out of material due to the limited timeframe or blanked what material they did have due to not having time to commit it to memory -- and so sasha started riffing (i.e. the ball joke) based on either what she wrote when anetra was ill or improvising.
It's so hilarious you brought up Kurtis Conner 🤣
I think you resemble him so much. You guys are such cuties lol
Watching Marciax3's runway look made me wish she had gone the Teen Wolf route a lá a werewolve attacked prom or something
lmao not aja getting heated up abt voguing when she literally used kimono and katana as her aesthetic in her act 😭 plus her drag name is from a bollywood actress lmaoooooo stfu abt “appropriation” when u urself is doing it. btw anetra is a japanese decent dear and no one heard abt her complaining to aja’s persistent romanticization of asian culture especially Japanese culture. aja vs herself pure attention grabber moments

Gravity and the voguing police don't want ANYBODY to even attempt voguing bc it's automatically ofensive
Bussy needs to write a book on Drag Theory because I always feel 10 times smarter after watching a recap episode.
Bussy: “I’m not gonna rate this look from Salina.”
Also Bussy: *puts flame rating in the lower left hand corner*
I just noticed that! Was looking for this comment. What was that about? Very weird
@@SNicolesPlace "If you're not trained in it, if you're not part of the culture, then why do it?"
Because they were told to.
The way Bussy put an entire think piece about the distillation of drag in the middle of this was excellent
Thank you. All this 10x
oh god, Marcia ³ was so safe, I'm used to and okay with the meddling this season, but I really really felt for Marcias this time
Marcia could’ve EASILY changed it to be Cinderella ripped by the steps.
Bussy how can you think that Mistress' look met the shredded theme???
