Thanks guys. love yall, hope you and your family's are well. Also Ian and Gary , check out the Audition (1999) , saw it when I use to live in Moscow. Very interesting. Don't wiki it. Go in blind. Cheers guys.
They already reviewed that movie seven years ago, if you´re talking about Takashi Miike's 1999 movie in which the protagonist lost his wife but wants to marry again, so his friend who is a TV producer makes an audition together with him where they invite a bunch of potential wife candidates and met a very, very, veeeeeery naughty girl called Asami... ruclips.net/video/f_5HlicFQO4/видео.html
To answer your question- yes there are wolves in New England: "Where do wolves live in New England? Northeast Wolves - National Wolfwatcher Coalition Studies have shown that suitable habitat and sufficient prey exist for wolves northern Maine, northern New Hampshire, Vermont and Adirondack Park in upstate New York. This research suggests that the Northeast could support at least 1,200 wolves and perhaps as many as 1,800...."
Also it's not so unbelievable for wolves, bears, or any other wildlife to be near or around a ski resort. Many ski resorts border National parks and have no control over animals entering these spots, you most likely would not see them when crowds of people are around but at night when the lights go out, yeah, not so unbelievable.
While yes this movie requires suspension of disbelief, this exact thing happened to a woman in California about 2 weeks after this video was posted. She spent 15 hours stuck in a gondola overnight at a ski resort in Lake Tahoe
My takeaway after viewing this film: 1. She isn't the third wheel in those dudes bro'ship anymore. 2. It's amazing how the universe setup this scenario. Those wolves might have starved if it wasn't for the bounty fate literally dropped into their mouths.
For all the safe formulaic films Disney has made, I thought it was really ballsy for them to make this and market it as an animated princess film. I'm sure I'm not the first to make this joke.
Remember putting on the Disney version when my (then) 16 year old son asked to see it, as I'd forgotten I'd bought this from a second hand shop the previous week and I also had a young daughter who was hooked on the animated film...
A friend of mine saw this on a first date and the guy got angry at her for laughing at how unintentionally hilarious it was in the back half. She did not go on a second date with this man, but hearing that she was laughing out loud in a fairly quiet cinema got me to watch this, and while I would never sit through it again, the characters were so obnoxious that it really was THAT funny to see all this bad stuff happen to them. I misremembered the ending though, I was sure Emma Bell made it to the road and got hit by a car, but I guess not!
Glad you guys reviewed this film, excellent work as always! I thoroughly enjoyed it back when it came out and have watched it multiple times since then. Even though the premise is simple, its still probable and makes you think of what you would do if you were stuck in this situation.
Excellent review will have to check it out, cant stop thinking tho reminds me of that episode of Bottom when Rik and Eddie get Stuck then abandoned on the world's tallest ferries wheel.
I've always got a good length of strong rope in my bag. It's not climbing rope but you can tie loops in it to make a basic rope ladder. Sport Billy also could have pulled a big fat tug of war rope from his bag. Carrying a bag of stuff could save your life one day...
Iain is right. As much as I love slasher killing and super natural horror films, sometimes the most scary thing is, just having normal everyday lives when all of a sudden, things can go wrong. Sometimes real life can be more scary than anything super natural. With that being, Frozen is no exception to that. I didn't think I was going to like this movie either. Just saying the premise out loud just sounds stupid. But when you sit down and watch it for what it is, it's actually really good. It's no masterpiece, but I don't think Frozen should be pushed aside either. It deserves a chance. It sucks this movie shares the same name with the Disney film. Hopefully this movie can still be easy to find for newcomers. The movie has stupid and funny moments that SHOUDN'T be funny, and yeah, sometimes the plot and characters can be a bit too much, but I still think the movie turned out well. Worth watching! I also recommend "12 Feet Deep!" It's another simple "horror" film that's not super natural or involves a slasher killer. It's one of my favorites next to Frozen! I hope you guys check it out someday! GREAT REVIEW AS ALWAYS!
Some of these movies i just struggle to take seriously bc of how many factors have to occur for it to be a problem. Like im sure theres no way in hell a resort is just going to shut off everything and not double check for this exact problem, you have to explain why nobody has a phone, why nobody is going to come looking for them, and its just too many bricks of "dumb people doing dumb things" Geralds game is a great example of how to do it right bc the the things that lead to the situation make sense such as just not paying attention to closing a door bc you dont expect the big problem to occur that would lead to not shutting the door causing more problems, but the main character also does alot of smart stuff and even if she fails it feels like a thing of ok this isnt bc shes dumb its bc she legit CANT do anything about it no matter what she tries
'This is in an actual public resort!' - I've got to disagree with that meaning there would be guaranteed fool-proof safety measures like that flag :P E.g. With the Alton Towers Smiler crash, there WERE a lot of safety measures and a little human error/distraction messed up every single one, same for many plane crashes. I probably watch too many real life disasters though! Great review thanks, watched this last night and loved it, much more unique than most other horrors and yes the eerie shot of the ski-lift killer at the beginning was what convinced me to keep watching.
Frozen is actually one of the free movies on youtube. At 12:12 you said the character is Susan. It says Shannon on IMDB. Apparently that was the directors wife
Ah...another new 45 minute review! Heard about this movie, never seen it! Thank you guys for a great review again! 👍 highlight of the week when you release a new one!
I'm actually kind of surprised they knew enough to have the suspension wires cut up his hands like the outer layer of the metal would have been afraid enough to cut you up pretty bad I've had to help realign a tow I've had to help realign The wire for a winch before it was surprisingly Sharp
It is not easy to make a movie work in a single place and a simple situation, this was a clever way to make something interesting with few elements, however indeed they stretch the plot and a lot of things happening in unreal ways to make it work, but in the end you get invested in the whole thing and characters
Always really liked this movie for its simple but honestly very realistic setup with so much potential for how many things could go wrong. After having re-watched it a couple years ago, I've been on the look out for horror/survival games with a focus on the effective yet simple horror of the cold. The ice, the snow, the feeling of warmth leave you, doing every single thing you could to keep your body heat up... Though, I've only really found two games. The Long Dark, and Cryostasis.
It's funny because the same thing happened to me whenever l would recomend this movie to people I would be like "have you seen frozen" and their response was always the same 😔 so for a time l felt like i was the only one who had seen and liked this one I guess i really really liked it the first time i watched it because i never stopped to pick it apart like lan did But i guess that comes with becoming an adult either way i still think the movie is really cool, i have never seen anything like it and that scene of the guy jumping off the skylift and crushing his legs has always stuck with me
What I take from this. There are two words in the English language that contain a double I, both are connected with expensive vacations. Hawaii is the better option.
25:00 That as well, like why not wrap your hands??? Like so many annoying things but this is why it's also a good horror movie, it makes you hate these characters.
This movie is one of those “so bad it’s good” movies. Watch YMS’s 2 part video on this movie, it is sooooo entertaining and funny, way better then actually watching the movie
I can definitely see that - a bunch of characters walking off the established path and getting stuck in a situation that causes them to battle against nature for survival, all the while dealing with group conflict. Plus, Shawn Ashmore is in both. The original novel of The Ruins is even more harsh than the film too. Highly recommend it!
How can you say none of these characters are likable? I found all three of them very likable and believable as college students at a ski resort for the weekend. Yes, they do and say some dumb or annoying things but thats what lots of college kids are like at that age
My aunt fell off a ski lift on her honeymoon and broke her back. She has managed to live a life as a wonderful artist, but as she's aged, her body has twisted and contorted to such a degree that she no longer paints. She's a remarkable person. Just putting that here, presumably it will last for years to come.
But not trying to tie their clothes together and drop from a lower height is just... and on top of that they could have brought it back up, and dropped him his. There is at least 30-50 ft in the clothing alone. And no cell phone part was really...
Great review as always guys. Frozen is a very memmorable movie with a terrifying concept. The first thing i'd think of on a Chairlift is this movie, similar to how i think of Jaws when i'm swimming. Cheers.
I watched this movie by accident It was on Film 4 one night & I watched it This is a damn good scary movie Simple & affective Please do a review for 47 Meters down Now you've easter egged it 😂
I accidentally bought this film for my 6 year old niece. She now lives happily in an asylym.
😂
Yeah I was looking for this one a very long time and I always found a cartoon one about a princess singing or something :D
Well, at least she's happy
Happily? The food taste like shit. She really must be crazy.
Every time someone mentions that film, the soundtrack from the Sound of Music begins playing in my head *ARRRRGH!*
LOL
Dude when the wolf bit into dudes face…epic..whoa😮

That’s scary-life imitated art.

1. She isn't the third wheel in those dudes bro'ship anymore.
2. It's amazing how the universe setup this scenario. Those wolves might have starved if it wasn't for the bounty fate literally dropped into their mouths.
Thanks for the continued hard work guys 👊👊
I just joined your Patreon at the $2 tier because Iain did NOT wiki this movie.
I know it’s not easy for you man and I appreciate your self control!
Iceman should have been at home in the cold
I love this movie. That scene where the lights turn off is brilliant, scary af
You seriously love this utter nonsense? clearly you must adore completely wacko unrealism aswell.
I remember seening this a few times on Film 4, once Disney Frozen came out its like disappeared
For all the safe formulaic films Disney has made, I thought it was really ballsy for them to make this and market it as an animated princess film.

How is breaking your legs and getting devoured by wolves "unintentionally hilarious"?
@@gatheringleavesif the character is annoying enough, it is indeed
You had me at "going in raw."

Tuck and roll! I learned that when I was 3 climbing trees. You might sprain an ankle but your not going to break both your legs
This is more situational horror to me.

I think we can all agree we watched this while in bed on Tubi TV in 2017
Interesting to see a slightly more positive take on this film after having watched Adam from YMS' dunk on it many times.
This is the movie that was accused, by horror fans, of using CGI for the wolves...
I thought Gary said he liked this movie a lot at the beginning of the review :D

Good morning guys I liked this film
It is hilarious that people get this confused with the Disney Frozen. So easy to do:)
I watched Frozen II after watching this. Very different movie.
I hope you do a review of FALL (2022)
The characters were kinda dickish in the beginning so they could literally have a redemption arc on the lift. I thought that was fairly well done.
Oh man I love this little gem!
For some reason this film has always reminded me of '"The Ruins"",another horror movie.
