This video is from almost 7 years go. Su-metal, the lead singer, turned 25 years old last month in December and her voice has matured so much and sounds even more amazing!🤘🦊🤘
She's the only one that can really sing. The other two are just ok at singing, and are fine as harmonies or back up singers, but can't carry a song on their own.
I will see bm live finally next summer.
@@JoniG enjoy mate
@@chopstyx1 Moa's voice has matured too, have you seen her singing that part of Headbanger after the solo live? She sounds really good, she has brighter and sweeter tone in comparison to Suzuka but still sounds great, they should use her more often on songs, maybe some leads or alternating leads with Su, like Mezmerize/Hypnotize SOAD era
@@JoniG Have fun mate, I'm seeing them in a week.
Even us old school metal fans gotta have a special place in our hearts for Babymetal... It's like being a proud father thing... And they are actually pretty darn good
it's crazy Rob Zombie and so many love baby metal
I remember hearing them years ago, and deciding I'm not a huge fan, but F me, I'm glad they exist. They've clearly been doing well. Good for them.
Saw them at Download festival years ago, of of people went in not sure about them but came out loving them. Poor Su slipped in the rain though and hurt her ankle but still played on - lot of dedication there.
@Cog Speak for yourself, metal is the most inclusive music scene I have been enjoying to be part of for the past 25yrs, everyone is welcome to add to the ever expanding metalverse. Babymetal is not my jam but I can appreciate what they are doing nonetheless. Alright, back to indian folk nu metal...
If you open-minded at least you won't hate it. I personally love Babymetal
To me, one of the most impressive things about Babymetal, is that Sumetal sings just as clearly live while doing all the choreography!
I think you'd enjoy their earlier stuff like Doki Doki Morning, which is fun and cute, and Papaya, which is more rock!
In Kimi To Anime Ga Mitai she is barely finished belting and goes straight into some sort of metal cardio workout and back into the chorus without missing a beat. Lungs of Steel
true, I've seem them live at a festival and it was about 40C (104F for you Americans) they did all the choreography and sounded perfect, I was dripping sweat standing still drinking cold beer, lol
I'd be shocked if they weren't lip syncing given how common it is, especially with shows with a lot of movement.
@@hat8918 Having looked at the performance's of Kimi To Anime Ga Mitai at legend 1999,1997 and black night. I would safely say all three are singing live, there are a few differences in each. Though, I do think there might be some post-production work to clean things up.
So what you can't see in this video, is how good Su really is. If you watch the live performances of BabyMetal, you will see that Su has nearly as much on-stage charisma, fortitude, and control over her voice as Bruce Dickenson. She jumps, dances and moves around on stage, and her voice never breaks. Not to mention, she has such control of her breath, that she can hold a tone nearly forever. And for a young lady as small as she is, that is quite the feat.
I would agree, her live vocals are actually spot on. I've watched a lot of the shows that you can find on RUclips and they're excellent.
Hold up. She's is amazing but Bruce is many many levels above her and in a totally different league.
@@casperi2 Give her a bit more credit man, Bruce isn't doing hours worth of fully choreographed dancing while he sings.
It's hard enough for most singers to sing well standing still, let alone performing full on dance routines as well.
@@casperi2 Note the word "nearly" in the statement. Bruce has been toning his voice and talent for decades. Su has been doing this for, well, January marked 10 years since the BabyMetal Debut. When this album, came out, BabyMetal had only been a thing for about three years. And I stand by my statement. She has NEARLY as much on-stage charisma, fortitude, and control as Bruce does.
"The One" is definitely what you are looking for from babymetal. That song is incredible.
I agree! And for fans of this song, I've discovered that there is an audio version with all the lyrics in English.
That song for vocal quality, or from dusk til dawn for just being awesome
The one is so underrated
One of my favorite songs, love it
If you don't have a tear or two in your eyes after watching "The One", you're not human. A very touching, powerful & emotional song - hits all the check boxes.
I love the story about how they in 2016 were more or less unknown (and the girls were teenagers) when they were booked to a festival in the UK. A last-minute change put them on the main stage in front of thousands of metal heads with no clue who they were.
It took them only a couple of songs to get the audience on board. The rest is history.
The Glastonbury? Live was the one that made me LOVE the song Karate. Su-metal singing it and harmonizing live gave me goosebumps
@ETJ wasn't that 2014?
that's sonisphere 2014. one of the most metal things. it's rock n roll history. the very definition of sticking it to the man. they were set up to fail but showed the showrunners who's boss.
They moved them to the largest stage of Sonisphere. Though it is worth noting that the group was started in 2010. So they had at least 4 years of performing as Baby Metal under their belts.
Yes sonisphere 2014! I was there and it only took 1 song to win me over!
You mentioned how they incorporate the "fly-catching" in the choreography. That hand symbol is called the Kitsune (Fox) and is basically their version of the "metal horns," but also, within the overarching fiction of the group's story, it's an homage to the Fox God, who is purported as their guiding entity. In the past, whenever they'd been interviewed and asked about what's in their future, the only answer they'd give was "Only the Fox God knows..."
when Suzuka sings her monosyllabic section, there is no gliss, slide, or smear between notes. She hits the pitch of each note like a piano. perfect.
Don't worry, they have plenty of content suitable for a vocal analyst like you. This song, and their other songs, are also much more impressive live because all the choreo you just saw is exactly what you'll see live plus the vocals. That shows the kind of stamina necessary to do what they do. "Akatsuki" live at Budokan Black Night is a great one with very impressive vocals. You'll be surprised by how powerful her vocals are. Getting drowned out by instruments definitely isn't a concern. 😄
Id love to see her reaction to Su's Legend S NRNR. Su really put some emotion into that one.
They truly are something else’
Akatsuki also has an insane guitar solo… errrr… duo.
Their live shows are on a whole different level. The y definitely need to be experienced live.
@@satoricrush I got lucky and saw them at Brixton Academy in 2014. To date, that's still one of the best shows I've ever been to. You'd never have known how much they'd have had to scale down the show for that venue, they were still absolutely impeccable.
There is a story from a Japanese Music Magazine editor (or reporter, or executive, I don't recall exactly) from the early days of Babymetal, being back stage with them at an outdoor Festival. The way he tells the story, Su (lead singer) was sitting in a chair with a maternal vibe while Yui and Moa were catching grasshoppers, being overlooked by Su. Moa caught a grasshopper that suddenly escaped her hand, jumping out. To which Moa's response was to wave with both hands and say "bye bye", causing Su to laugh. The way he describes it, that moment brought him extreme peace and tranquility, as does its memory.
The girls are a wholesome addition to the music scene. They aren't divas and are humble.
What's really impressive is that Su-metal performs just as well live, while doing the full choreography from the video. Amazing breath control.
The lead singer really belts it out in a solo song called Akatsuki. the live version is great too.
Damn they have a song called Akatsuki? Like the destroyer
@@caprise-music6722 It just means 'dawn'
Whether people like the idea behind Babymetal or not, they need to admit that the lead singer is superb.
I prefer the live version due to the nice natural reverb!
Rondo of Nightmare as well.
I've loved BABYMETAL ever since I saw Megitsune way back in 2014. Su is a fantastic vocalist, but my god the people writing these songs, and arranging them so to speak, are absolute geniuses. They've always balanced the J-Pop and Metal sounds really well, with some real heavy Slipknot-esque instrumentation while having these girls sweetly singing over and it still somehow working. Then they've sprinkled in other genres here and there and it still all sounds cohesive and powerful. It's genuinely mindblowing.
Megitsune is, and always will be (barring something unbelievably amazing), their best song by far. By contrast, Karate is one of my least favorites.
I think that's around the time I discovered them too I just remember that it was from Pandora or a similar app that I found them from and I remember at first I didn't know what to think but then by the end of the song I was like "that's one of the most unique things I've ever heard!"
Definitely need to be in the right mood for it but I like them such a cool concept for a band
I remember hearing Megitsune for the first time (after Gimme Chocolate) and being absolutely blown away. Like, they went from good but obviously gimmicky in my eyes to "this is legitimately fucking awesome" that fast. The drop on Megitsune wouldn't feel out of place on a Meshuggah record.
As a metal head I was at download when the were main staged and no one expected what happened next, within two songs they had everyone hooked!! Please can you review doki doki morning, it was one of the songs that solidified them into metal greatness
Great reaction. You picked up on a lot of the little/subtle things that are why we love babymetal so much. Gg!
You also have such a beautiful smile, and seem to be actually enjoying it.
Watched your reaction a few times now, and I can't thank you enough for it.
Babymetal cram so much into this video/song. Just like They always do.
❤
If you want what I feel is the best example of lead singer's voice; Su-Metal, I really recommend Babymetal "Rondo of nightmare" - There is a fantastic live version on RUclips. :)
I second that choice. Su-metal has an incredible voice
I third that suggestion! Obviously the Black Night Budokan version to be specific.
100% agree "Rondo of Nightmare" is an amazing song to see Su-metals vocal power same with "Akatsuki" both the finished and unfinished versions should be examined simultaneously.
The one with fenomenal intro played by Kami Band. ;)
@@woocjoosh But of course!
Longtime fans have not only seen these girls grow up, but also hear those vocal qualities blossom. Su has really come a long way as a vocalist and Moa, while mostly in a support role, has had her shining moments as well. One of the favorite Babymetal traditions is Moa (and Yui in the past) taking over lead vocals on their birthday for Headbanger during their tour.
LOVELOVELOVE these guys.
The Kami Band are some of the most respected and talented musicians ever assembled IMO.
I absolutely love your face through most of this video. You hit the nail on the head, it's a surprisingly fun song and you just looked like you were on cloud nine through most of it. Definitely earned my like and subscribe and cannot wait to see more of your videos.
The lead singer Suzuka had early fame as a child actor in musicals (in Japan) and I think it comes out in her Babymetal vocals, especially if you watch her live performances. Very theatrical and expressive - she "plays" the part of Su-Metal when performing. I love her voice and she just gets (vocally) better and better over time. Listen to Monochrome.
Lead singer Suzuka Nakamoto. (she is 25 now). Because she sings to heavy music, her singing is mostly belting. She has a very clear and stable voice. She easily performs quite complex parts without ever making a mistake with a note.
This particular song is far from the most difficult. To appreciate the vocals, I would recommend the song Amore.
(for example - ruclips.net/video/O4FGSs9VXjY/видео.html Amore (2017) Fox Festival version. )
I totally agree 👍 I suggested Amore in my comment!
@@honorarythamesman5732 I agree. And they have a new album coming out in a few weeks. I would also suggest Headbanger
The concert for Su-Metal`s 16 birthday was just so nuts and great!
And don't forget Akatsuki, from both the Legend 1997 concert ( the real ballad style) and from Budokan Black Night, the jazzed up version.
It's crazy, Su is gonna be 30 before we know it.
Can we talk about Elizabeth's amazing hair color. Whoever does it is a wizard.
BABYMETAL - Road of Resistance - Live in Japan (OFFICIAL) This really shows off her voice more
"Monochrome" The First Take version please. Su's voice is just perfection in it.
Joakim Bröden’s been on one of their songs, ‘Oh Majinai!’ from the album ‘Metal Galaxy’, as a backup singer. It’s an almost entirely different vibe than this one and feels vaguely Celtic.
It would be so cool with a reaction to that song :-) Going to be fun listening to them live soon on the Sabaton tour
Oh i can't wait for you to start analyzing their live stuff!!!! And you're spot on with the message!! Babymetal was created to empower young girls and give them a source of inspiration!! The Kami band, their backing band, is absolutely stellar!!
I suggest the following, all live versions:
Headbanger
Road of Resistance
Syncopation
The intensity is 10 fold live. Live performances are the only way to experience this group.
As good as this is, they're way better now. Love BabyMetal so much.
⚡ 💀 💕 / 👻 👻 👻
BABYMETAL's producer, Kei Kobayashi (known as Kobametal, or just Koba) became aware of lead singer Suzuka Nakamoto back when she was the youngest member of the JPop trio Karen Girl's.
She was 11 years old at the time.
He attended their final concert, and was impressed with her stage presense and "no holds back" singing.
So much so that he decided to form a metal group around her.
This insane plan took a couple of years to get started.
There was an interview with Koba, where he talks about his instructions to the live band when he first put them together.
It was, 'Don't hold back because they are "Idols". Don't hold back because they are girls.'
Su’s best vocal showcase (imo) is Akatsuki (Unfinished Version) live at Legend 1997. Also, Rondo of Nightmare Black Night at Budokan. Phenomenal.
But to appreciate her fully it has to be Headbanger live from the Legend 1997, jumping around and still able to deliver powerful, stable vocals. Really impressive. The song is just pure energy and one of my favourites 🙌
Finally, Road of Resistance Live in Japan for her command of the stage.
So glad you took my advice to check these musicians out! They're really quite addicting. I love love love the Kami band!
I'm so glad you were finally able to get this one up! I was talking to your Mr. about it when you took your leave, babymetal is so hard to work with on youtube. I cant wait for you to hear Su when she's being serious, she's amazing! I think a few of the guys recommended Akatsuki and I'm gonna have to agree. Thank you so much for all the effort!
Another good one is Kingslayer by BMTH feat. BABYMETAL . A very powerful duo
I second this. That song goes hard.
You really need to check out BABYMETAL's latest single METAL KINGDOM (released yesterday) to hear just how much Su's vocals have progressed in recent years. Probably her best vocal performance to date. There's an audio version on RUclips and no issues with copyright or blocking. The other two new singles are Divine Attack (lyrics by Su) and Monochrome.
There maybe a full MV of METAL KINGDOM in the coming weeks if they shoot one at their upcoming concerts in Japan.
Bmth and baby metal did a song together a few years ago (fairly recently i think? Maybe 3 or 4) its called Kingslayer and im obsessed with it Ollie's harsh vocals with their clean and cutesy sounding vocals is so freaking cool together its a dope song i love it
I've been WAITING for you to finally get around to reacting to BabyMetal ... :)
If you find Su's vocals to have a "Middle Eastern" quality, you should definitely check out "Shanti Shanti Shanti." It's got a strong Indian flavor. (Yes, I know India is not in the Middle East!)
Personally, I like "Megitsune" and "Kagerou," but they're not much different from this. Listening to them back to back is a good way to hear how Su's voice has matured over the years.
And like many comments below, I recommend "Akatsuki" if you want a less brutal song.
And, finally, "Oh! Majinai" is hilarious. :)
Oh, yes... if you want some peak Su, "Shanti" Is amazing!
Shanti is really impressive vocally as well, lots of vibrato. It's such a good pick
Oh! Majinai always cracks me up because they got Joakim Barden to just sing “yoyoyoyoyoyoyo” for 4 minutes straight, which is *comedy fucking gold*
When it comes out, "Metalizm" will have a strong Middle-eastern sound.
Welcome to the amazing world of BabyMetal. They are amazing in every way. They have been around since 2010. They started when they were just children. They are now in their mid 20s. They have been through a lot (YuiMetal left the band and one of their guitarist Mikio died). They just released 3 new songs and have 2 shows in Japan on the 28th and 29th of this month. I definitely suggest you react to BabyMetal live. They are so good. Enjoy the BabyMetal ride! 🖤🔥🖤🔥🖤🔥🖤
Im so glad you finally got to babymetal!! I adore them! highly recommend "road of resistance"
Cool video! Still waiting for a Twilight Force or Rhapsody video! Fantastic vocals singing about wizards and dragons seems right up the alley of this channel!
You talk about how precise and clean the vocals are. I’ve seen them live seven times (soon to be eight-can’t wait!) and the vocal is that clean and precise in real life. Her tuning is perfect.
Thanks for this re-upload. Now watch Any of the new 3 singles to compare her mature vocals with her teenage years. May the Fox God bless you and kitsune up!
_Ossu!_ 🦊🤘🥋
I've been waiting for this for years! Yay!
You really need to check out their original live concert in the UK. Amazing for little girls.
Your hair is amazing in this video!
Yes, Yes, Yes - BABYMETAL. Thank you so very much for the reupload, Elizabeth 🙏. Please react to another video of one of their live performances, preferably Road of Resistance - Live in Japan (Official). That would be awesome. Greetings from Germany. Stay safe and stay metal. Forever THE ONE 🤗❤🤘🦊🤘
^this! one of the greatest metal moments in history
Seconded! 😀👍
Road of Resistance - Live in Japan = Epic
Megitsune and Monochrome are two of their best songs, plus Monochrome much more recent. And definitely need to look up their live performance vids
Megitsune is a beast of a tune :)
Megitsune is one of the best, that and Distortion.
The metal breakdown based on "Sakura, Sakura" after the first chorus of Megitsune is crunchy as fuck.
Megitsune gets my vote. A must listen!
I'm so glad to see you analyzing Babymetal! I've loved them a long time and seen them once in concert. I can't wait to see more!
Time to thank you. This video was the first thing I ever saw or heard of Babymetal. I got sucked into the Foxhole within days and have been a happy Babymetal fan ever since; saw them live in May 2023. Thanks for introducing me to this wonderful group. Greetings from Germany!
You will LOVE the official video version of their amazing power ballad, "The One." It is a love-letter to their fans and includes a ton of live footage as well.
I believe suzuka's best performance is at the song AKATSUKI LIVE AT bodokan BLACK NIGHT concert. You could realize how powerful her voice is at a LIVE performance.
By the way, Babymetal in my opinion is the best thing that happened in the music industry for the past 10 years. It's a new kind of metal.
Your analysis was so spot on. I'm really excited to watch more of your reactions! If you ever decide to revisit these girls, i think you'd really like their song "Shanti"
I highly suggest and I do mean highly recommend watching the live performance in Japan of road of resistance. Every time I watch it, it's still one of my top five goosebump inducing music videos of a live performance.
Welcome to the rabbit hole called BABYMETAL! One of my favorite bands and I just heard them around 6 months ago.
Thanks for watching and
Commenting.... text me💬I have something for you🎉
I would argue that the song "Headbanger" is vocally one of their finest works. Babymetal in general is one of the most beautiful and impressive bands I know. Both vocally and instrumentally.
Totes agree
The amazing thing about Babymetal is that they loose nothing performing live and are even more incredible.
I am so happy you found this! Please do The One... It's a concert video to end all concert videos!!
Yessss I’ve been waiting for this!!! 🤘🏼Next video you watch of them watch a live performance.
Rondo of Nightmare - live - is amazing..... Also, Rob Halfort sings with Painkiller with them... it is amazing..
If the metal god approves you know it's good!
Su is simply amazing. Her work in Shanti Shanti Shanti blew me away. The first half of Metali is exquisite (and the rest is fun too!). Hear a completely different set of talents in BxMxC. This band just keeps exploring and improving. Supported by amazing musicians, songwriters, and production crews, but they are dynamos of hard work, professionalism, energy, and joy. Please react to more recent stuff. Su just keeps getting better. So much variety, and all amazing!
When you mentioned middle eastern. I must recommend Shanti Shanti Shanti. Is a song that paid homage to India. Her voice sounds amazing in it. Most people from India who have reacted to it says it really is close to India’s Bollywood type of music mixed with metal.
Hope you check them out more!
Fun choreography in Shanti... too. Moa's facial expressions are priceless
@@GrudenSS yes it definitely does. I think an Indian woman reacted to it and focused on the choreography and said she was surprised and pleased by the details they put into it that are similar to Bollywood dancing. Though I think she some is similar to Egyptian style as well.
@@ForestSen Yep, she's actually reacted to a lot of Babymetal songs now. She's a professional dancer and dance teacher i believe, so it's fun to get reactions from that perspective.
YES! My favorite vocal coach reacting to my favorite metal band! My old heart can only handle so much excitement!🤘🦊🤘
so glad u found babymetal =D im gonna go see them live in scotland 18th of april. theyre touring with sabaton and lordi
I've binged a ton of your BABYMETAL reactions. Not quite sure how I missed this one until now. Up until the video for _RATATATA,_ this was my favourite BABYMETAL MV. It's still a very close second.
My 3 favorite songs is Chocolate, Karate and Headbanger. Both my kids love listening to it in the car driving to school. Check out their live videos to see how well they perform and how pumped up the crowd gets during their performance.
I remember you talking about doing this a long time ago. Su-Metal is known for being a machine with her vocal delivery, no matter how much choreo she's doing. If not a reaction, watch some Babymetal just for you because you'll enjoy them, I'm pretty sure. 🙂 Your Stevie Ray Vaughn reaction the other day was my favorite out of all the hundreds of your videos I've watched! Thanks Elizabeth!
Its always a joy watching you fully appreciate music :D
First off, love your channel and what you do. Not only is it fun to watch someone discovering these artists and songs for the first time, you give these great, detailed explanations of what all you're noticing, tipping the rest of us off to the subtle nuances we missed.
But in this case, I gotta disagree with you. The mid-song break feels more like a pop/emo vibe to me. Could be MCR, or Simple Plan with their heavier instrumentals, breaks for solos, and vocal builds.
and now I'm going to listen to emo for the next hour because I remembered it exists and how awesome it was
To get some contrast, check out Karate live, at England's Download Festival in 2016 and the Budokan 2021 10-day Concert. Another good one for vocals is Brand New Day, only do the live concert videos, the best one is also from the 2021 Budokan concerts. Karate's theme is about fighting your own demons and succeeding.
I'm so glad you decided to release this reaction, It was so good If you did any other reactions that were blocked please release them as well or just do more reactions to BabyMetal
Thanks again, you really do explore a lot of great music, and your insight really brightens the atmosphere. Don't stop rocking out The Charismatic Voice, your channel is awesome.
I saw BABYMETAL live in Melbourne, Australia on Sunday. They were awesome. So much power and the crowd was totally into it. This Ookami is down with the Kitsune! 🤘🦊🤘
Hi from San Francisco California
I've been a babymetal fan since 2020
Fun fact- babymetal was the first band to create this Type of music called kawaii metal or cute metal which inspired a new raise area of kawaii metal in Japan
If you look closely at the "White Ghost's" as You call Them, ( It's Suzuka, Yui and Moa ) You can see Their opposite selves reflected in Their Eye's. This Video, in My humble opinion, is a beautiful work of art. In the words of Babymetal Fans " Kitsune's Up "
They used the Kitsune fox hand gesture at the end to make the phantasms dissolve away.
Love these videos. Your enthusiasm and incredible knowledge add credibility to music which can often be dismissed by "serious music types". I love this music and you explain why. Thank you.
"The One" by Babymetal is the best for her vocal range and it is in English!!!
If you want heavier, listen to "Megitsune".
I have been waiting forever to see you reacting to BabyMetal! one of my guilty pleasures :) FYI they are incredible live. Think about the difference between Nightwish live vs studio...BabyMetal is in the same category. Production, choreography, sound quality, costumes and drama, everything. If you are looking for the full BabyMetal experience you should look up "Road to Resistance" live in Japan. For a perfect example of Suzuka's vocal performance and theatricality, look into "Akatsuki" (also live).
Same
So happy to see your post of a Babymetal song analysis. Since I first accidentally discovered Babymetal on RUclips in March of 2021, they have become my favorite music group. I love all their music. There are so many BM songs on YT that I could recommend for you to watch next but here is one where Su-metal (Suzuka) shows why she was chosen to be the lead vocalist for Babymetal. She has a very strong singing voice that can project and be heard above the metal band playing behind her. The song is "Akatsuki" and is from a concert (2016, I believe) at Budokan called the Black Night performance. It also gives a close up look and listen to the backing musicians, called the Kami Band.
ruclips.net/video/g2372C5PJLM/видео.html
Please post more Babymetal song analyses! Thanks!
Good choice (it was March 1st or 2nd 2014, Su was only just 16).
Yes, someone fish up the best Akatsuki to react to. Great playing from the band, and it's a solo Su song, so it'll help to focus on her singing. Next time tho, we need to make sure we get a live vid. Live Babymetal is always better than album and music video Babymetal!
@@GrudenSS The link in my original post IS to a live performance! At the Budokan arena in Tokyo.
Oooo, Baby Metal! They're such a fun band. I hope that we see more of them on your channel.
Also, love your hair! 🔥
That Hair is awsome, its like a lions main :) Rarrggg! - thumbs up on BabyMetal.
Elizabeth... you mentioned female empowerment in this video. One word: Megitsune
A few more words: If you react to it, get the translated lyrics.
Last words: Su Metal worked really hard to raise the bar for her own vocal talents in that song, and it's probably my favorite vocal performance of hers.
I'm pretty sure, this will forever be my favourite Baby Metal song, it's so awesome!
Just an FYI, to really appreciate Baby Metal you HAVE to watch them live
you need to see all their live .... amazing...
You nailed it. Love this song and love Babymetal. Subscribed. Also, look into the eyes of the girls in white at the end. Babymetal vocals: Brand New Day, From Dusk Till Dawn, No Rain No Rainbow.
Road of resistance by Babymetal live is amazing in terms of showmanship and just good rock performance.
I would recommend that you check out the live video of The One,it really shows the power and nuance of Su's voice. The song was written about and for the Babymetal fan's who are called The One. Thare are videos where they sing this in both English and Japanese
It's cool how you compare Su-Metal's voice to traditional middle eastern singing. If you want to hear her sing in a similar style, you should check out Shanti Shanti Shanti. That song that is heavily inspired by Indian music, and her vocals are amazing.
Su-metal's voice is absolutely gorgeous.
Awesomely fun spin on metal, with some truly talented musicians to back up the ladies.
Really strongly recommend their albums. Insane variety. Some of it is an acquired taste, but they're honestly so charismatic and joyous you will HAPPILY want to acquire that taste.
"why is this so adorable?" is something you will ask frequently...
Definitely check out the live performances, they are so much better. As far as the songs go, you can never go wrong with Road of Resistance or Headbanger.

Gotta check them out live. Try Catch Me if you Can or the One! 🥰😈🤘
I am one of the biggest gatekeepers admittedly when it comes to metal but sometimes something comes along that defies my traditional metal love. Babymetal is one of those. I just love them so much. Always puts a smile on my face.
they are soo fun to watch live ^_^
I'm not a metal or J-pop fan but I fell in love with this unique combo of the two!
You really need to see some of their live performances, which are very impressive in terms of their singing while dancing. They've changed a bit over time - they're grown up now, one of the girls left, and they've toned down the heaviness a lot in favor of basically doing pop songs that just have a bit more guitar than usual.
I believe I suggested this band while commenting on your King Diamond reaction... Fantastic one of a kind band
The live performance of road to resistance is awesome. There's a lull in the middle... But that's only because she let the audience try to sing. Aside from that slow part, it's an awesome video and performance.
I'm so happy to see her finally reacting to Babymetal!
You gotta see their live stuff. Su is incredible live.
Heh, very adorable, yet extremely good concept, execution and production.
Megitsune and Catch Me If You Can are also fantastic, and are a great showcase of what the girls WERE and what the original Babymetal concept was.
Songs like Pa Pa Ya or Distortion are more of what they are currently, it’s a pretty big tonal shift.
I’d definitely recommend Megitsune next.
To me their sound is more hard rock now, more melodic and less hard. I really enjoyed their earlier albums more but they still sound good now, just not my cup of tea anymore
oh, that was an unexpected surprise. I've loved BabyMetal for years though less so their newer direction. It was my gateway to kpop in an indirect way. Su-Metal has a simply amazing voice. There are a few videos of her singing solo with chioresque music that I would go searching for but I'm sure someone has beaten me to it.
Thank you for this gem this morning.
