I always thought modern PC gaming was financially out of reach. Put this GPU in an Optiplex 9020 SFF i5 w/ 16GB RAM. Just finished the new Silent Hill 2 remake on low settings with a very stable frame rate. Was scary as hell, performed at a very playable level and was the perfect graphics-intensive game to stress-test this card with. I've since tried Cyberpunk, Elden Ring, God of War: Raganrok, Forza Horizon 5. Runs everything beautifully. If you're new to PC gaming and aren't a graphics snob, this is an incredible value.
@@ChrisMeadows92 Awesome! My thoughts exactly.
Enjoy your recounting of the halo lan party days. Keep up the good work with these budget build tests!
This is an awesome gpu for low profile sff PCs. I play Skyrim SE on ultra. Fan does spin up but I modified the case to have better intake airflow and it helps dissipate the heat a lot for longer gaming session. I don't recommend running this on newer titles on ultra. Doing so, you'll be disappointed.
Great input - thanks!
This has given me hope. I have the exact pc specs but hp and planning to get this card primarily for blender, unreal and halo infinite. Could you please try the halo infinite campaign?
Here from the future to give you a firsthand report on this exact GPU running on a 2013 Small Form Optiplex 9020 i5 w/ 16GB RAM. Grabbed this meager office computer and put this card in it. In the last two months I've finished Cyberpunk 2077 on low settings with 50FPS lows, Forza Horizon 5 on High Settings at 65FPS, Elden Ring on medium settings at 55FPS and just finished the new Silent Hill 2 remake on low settings at 55FPS, all at 1080p. If you're willing to settle for low/medium settings at 1080p for things coming out in the next four years, or stuff like Starfield, this beast can handle it. It's also an emulation machine, running PS3/360/Switch/Wii emulation no problem. As for anything PS4-era, this things can be cranked up to max settings. It's kind of a miracle low profile GPU, I'd honestly give it a 9/10 if you're not a seasoned PC gamer. Great entry point GPU.
man id love one of these in my 3020 nice video as im new to pc gaming ty for the info.
It’s my pleasure
beautifullll i'm about to have this exact same setup but in a 7040 lol
Underclocked mine to get 10 fps boost while maintaining the same heat
How do you go about underclocking it?
@@dylanallen7720 I reccomend checking reddit for this type of mod
Hey, same exact rig from Dell Refurb and was shopping for the 6400 so this is perfect. What game controller/wireless adapter are you using?
Xbox controller: amzn.to/3ZHipo1
wireless adapter for Xbox controller: amzn.to/3JeX91K
ps if you happen to need to use a PS4 controller, this program *DS4Windows* is perfect. makes your PS4 controller use Xinput cuz not a lot of games natively support PS4 controllers
Did you use your stock PSU? and what's the wattage of your PSU. Would the 180 watts be enough for the RX 6400, Thanks in advance.
Yes. The low profile only uses 53watts
Yes, badmingos is right, 180 and that’s enough for the RX 6400
can rx 6400 good with 180 watts i have optiplex 3040 sff
The rx 6400 only draws 54 watts to see if your pc power supply can manage the gpu use a calculator and put all your components watts and add them together if the calculation is over your power supply not buy it you don’t want your pc to get on fire go for the rx 550 4gb
Or a gt 1030 4gb vram
But my 5040 has i5 8400 and ddr4 16gb 2666mhz ram. So will it give better performance with my desktop?
You’ll see more benefit if you plan to do some light gaming
@@helifynoe9930my question is, do your own research. The internet is there for you. Stop asking those questions. The rx6400 is best gpu for old and new cpus.
Can it run blox fruits if anyone built this can you tell me?
doesnt this thing heat up like crazy? how do you cool it?
It actually hasn’t gotten too hot, even with less empty space in the small form factor
Did this come with the low profile bracket?im looking to buy it but ive only got an sff and im not sure if the card comes with a low profile bracket
It did
Hey, do you think that RX 6400 MSI Aero version could fit that case??
That one is a compact form factor that is full height. It would be too tall. Needs to be low profile with a low profile bracket.
@@OptiGPUdoes the GPU come with the low profile bracket
