As an excavator/machinery operator of many years, the fault is obvious, you never proceed with any operation without 100% clarity of the situation in regards with the safety of everyone & everything tantamount.

I’ve heard of alot of incidents like this happening. I’m not sure how it does, excavators don’t move fast enough that you can’t get out of the way. Always pay attention on the job site, even if you’re directing traffic.
