This article provides a pretty good explanation here: all3dp.com/2/fusion-360-import-stl-simply-explained/ However, if you are converting 3D scanner data to CAD, the best way to do it is to sketch the part using scan data as a reference.

there is no mesh sketch feature in my fusion, please help

you have to use autodesk slicer for fusion 360, easier way
