I love tv series for the story development... Stargate started with the Sg-1 team and General hammond, years later we have a scene with none of them present and yet it's stargate at its best :D
if i missed something from atlantis that is McKay. Can't wait for this episode Ps: I hate syfy for canceling sgu( i'm sorry but i just had to say that)
I will watch this one for sure. Rodney will make such a diference. I really can´t stand the shaking camera, but I will watch this episode. Looking good Mckay!
so many people are saying that syfy are the ones that canceled this show but isnt the production company MGM the ones that canceled it because they have run into hard times....afterall syfy is just a channel showing sgu
@rkmugen I agree 100%. There were just way to many fans that couldn't get over the fact that it was more of a drama based series, so they just had their minds already made up that "this just isn't Stargate at all, i'm not gonna watch this"...And now THEY are the main reason we may not see another installment in the SG franchise. I'm just mad at SYFY because i think if they would've given it one more season, it would grow on people.
Sci Fi contacted MGM for a 3rd season but MGM was already bankrupt and everyone had left. There was no one left to pull the strings to make it happen according to Brad Wright.
@Jenks0001 Nemec said something about "visiting an old character in the third live action incarnation of a franchise". I remember something like that from Gateworld.
Langara!!! Langara!!! oh shit I was already stoked in to watching this, but now I am further into watching this episode. Langara is Jonas Quinns planet. Will we see a former SG-1 member?!? This proves my theory that the Lucian alliance went to Langara to get the naquaria for their bomb on "Alliances"
@quizzisation Yeah, I heard that too! I don't know if it will actually happen, but I hope it does! The actor did say something about "[I] got back into the boots of an old character in the third incarnation of a franchise". I don't see how this points to this particular episode, but I'm still excited!
@Jenks0001 Never said they gave up on it, just that they put it in the back while SGU was on. Now that it's off, they MIGHT (maybe yes, maybe no) bring it back up front again.
@thewewguy8t88 Corin Nemec said he would be playing an old character in a second incarnation of a show, I think it is pretty safe to say he is appearing.
@quizzisation I hope so, and man. My need for some good stargate has now been fixed. No hate towards sgu, but after waiting on the movies to come out, and watching reruns of SGA and SG-1 for a long time. SGU recently has desereved the name Stargate. And of all things its proved recently that it does deserve a thrid season
Please, could somebody help me and write me PM with the trascript, what the characters are saying? I am not a native English, so it would help me a lot =)
@TopGunProductions Actually, I think there is more of a chance they'll be done! While SGu was going, any other Stargate-related stuff were put on the back of their mind. Now that they don't have to work on SGU anymore, they can work on the movies! Now I'm not saying they will happen. Just that they don't have SGU as a restriction to work on it anymore. Anyway, can't wait for Extinction! Hoping Jewel Staite will be back on it! And McKay: Of course he'll be in it! ^_^
@wti5280 Yeah.. but you see, it's also the community's fault, mostly. 1) Too many people were either so loyal to the first two series (SG1 & SGA) either didn't like the format or execution of SGU.. and 2) the old timers wanted to not give the show any viewership simply out of spite. It is such a shame too, that it took the show this long to build up the kind of momentum it now has. Also, by episode 2x14, they finally, FINALLY had humor... something the show needed from the very start.
I think it's a bit unfair to claim the show suffered low viewership because of 'old timers' not watching out of spite, especially when you yourself criticized the show for lacking humour in the beginning. Do you not think its possible these 'old timers' may have had other criticisms that you simply didn't share?
@Jenks0001 Everything you say is true... except the ''they were making progress on the movie up until SGU was cancelled''. The truth is, they basically never worked on it while SGU was on. We wouldn't have got it anyway as long as SGU was playing. Not saying that we'll get one now that it is cancelled, just that while it wasn't cancelled, they didn't worked on it one bit!
@circusmort Very well put! =D i've been a huge fan of all the stargate series. and while SGU is nothing like SG-1, it is still a great show with great actors and a very promising plot. So i agree with you 100% =)
I can tell you now, if they try using Langera, the planet lined with naquadria vains, to dial Destiny, the planet will explode. "The instability of naquadria increases exponentially as you draw more power from it" - Jonas Quin SG1.
They found a way to fix that actually, it was written somewhere those neutrino ion generators on the last generation of asgard ships was naquadria. The problem was always they had ships firing on the planet when they dialed destiny
@Jenks0001 There's supposed to be an SGU movie? What the heck? I mean, granted, now the show is better than the first season was, but still? And, like I said before, since the chance of the Atlantis movie being nil anyway while SGU was still going, I don't see much of a change compared to being nil now! :p
don't watch SGU, but I watched this episode for McKay. Turns out understanding the plot is important too :P so i had no clue what was going on. Just a warning to SGA fans who plan to do what i did
@wti5280 With Smallville on the CW ending, it'd be something if SGU took over Smallville's place.... airing right after Supernatural. Although... my local FOX station already airs SGU..... like at 1 AM
It's the same universe, of course there are cross-overs. And this was a really good one. Both Woolsey and McKay are characters who first appeared in SG1 and later became the main characters of Atlantis. And here they are, discussing O'Neill, Lucian Alliance and Langara, the home world of Jonas Quinn...
@littlemegamonkey Hey... im looking forward to those movies... been really excited about them,.. but i still like SGU.. and now that SGUs done theres even less of a chance they'll be made.
@kennyalancramer Wow... i meant my last comment to be humorous but now that i look at it again, i sound like every other ass on youtube lol sorry about that one. I was just curious why you would've watched it if you hated it. I guess im just a die hard SG fan nonetheless and just don't want to see the franchise end :(
Oh boy, I wish SGU had good writers, some episodes are good, but most of them looks like a poor version of Lost. T.T Anyway, its good to see McKay again. :D
@littlemegamonkey Yes, but when you say 'basic level', what you mean is that the premise that is a literary classic. Beyond that vague premise, the show is absolutely nothing like Voyager. There were clowns calling Atlantis Stargate's answer to Voyager too. Instead of course we ended up with a show that did everything that SG-1 has already done, but worse. SG-1 and SGU are great in different ways, while SGA is just a poor man's SG-1.
Eli's an incredibly smart guy don't get me wrong, but he is no where close to Meridith Rodney McKay! McKay forever!!!! =) "Hey I'm Dr. Rodney McKay alright? Difficult takes a few seconds, impossible...a few minutes!" -McKay, S05E16 Brain Storm
Hearing Woolsey, McKay, Young and Telford talk about Lucian alliance and O'Neill, that's like stargasm! :D
Since this was about Jonas's home planet, it would have been amazing to see him as well.
I love tv series for the story development... Stargate started with the Sg-1 team and General hammond, years later we have a scene with none of them present and yet it's stargate at its best :D
Well, it started with the Kurt Russel movie, but we know what you mean. :p
after watching this i would love to c what a "conversation" between Rush and McKay would b like
That short interaction between Eli and Mckey really makes me sad that the show ended on such a sour note.
If Hewlett became a regular, Eli vs McKay every episode would be awesome.
Best episode ever just because of McKay.
Thanks for uploading this.
This episode definitely has a LOT of promise.
if i missed something from atlantis that is McKay. Can't wait for this episode
Ps: I hate syfy for canceling sgu( i'm sorry but i just had to say that)

Sad that the best episodes of this show were the ones where they brought back former characters.
I think we all knew that it won't work, once they said that if it works, McKay might come to Destiny
Eli/Mckay.
The funniest thing ever.
Oh my fucking god ! Langera, rodney, richard and maybe Jonas ! this is so awesome i'm considering sedating myself for a week

@wti5280 yeah right. For both shows, but specially SGU. Still pissed. Some other network really needs to pick it up now!
Subscribe for promos, sneak peeks & more :)
I CANT WAIT FOR THIS !!!!!!
MCKAY!!!!!!!!!!!! finally =))
Can someone write here transcript of this sneak peek? I can't understand it, especially McKay, thanks.

Just 5 episodes left D:

McKay saying "Oh, it's save" ...heard that before!!
Where was Jonas during all of this?
Yeah... That's strange
@thewewguy8t88 Corin Nemec said he would be playing an old character in a second incarnation of a show, I think it is pretty safe to say he is appearing.
Evidence suggests that Jonas also makes an appearance.
Holy.... And that's all I gotta say.

Dialing the Destiny should have worked and as a result Mckay, Woolsy etc would be forced to escape to the ship.
@rkmugen There was humor the whole time. Not the same kind as SG1, but it definitely has been here the whole time.
