Mike’s teaching is the best on RUclips hands down. Every time I struggle with contact I refer back to these videos to get back into the groove. It works and he’s a phenomenal teacher.
I absolutely love all four of the videos with Dan Murphy, they tell us all the story of the grip, back swing, down swing and follow through swing. I watch them multiple time a year to get myself back on track and playing good golf. Thanks Mike.
Amazing video! I love the ending..."really?" lol. I just want to truly say thank you Mike. You teach truths. Just real information in applicable ways. I'm sure it has taken you a tremendous amount of time, effort, thought, study, money etc.( labor of love) to make it look so simple. Its sad that it is so rare in the golf industry. You are making a huge difference for many people's lives and helping people enjoy the game on a level they never imagined or had given up on. I hope people appreciate your genius and follow your lead. I do and I will. Sincerely, Jacob
3...4 years , I´ve been "taking part" of Your Golf-Info. When I see this one ....I have to make a note in this matter.....It´s actually making me free, with my golfswing. I hope You still make these fantastic videos. Thank You! Greetings from Sweden.
Mike knows why we think the way we do. That's a gift...that he cares enough to understand the hackers of this world; yet is able to easily have a PGA or LPGA tour player's swing to pick apart right in front of him with no problem just as easily is pretty special. Personal experience I'm sure. Thanks Mike. TU!
Thank you Mike for making me understand how the golf swing works I took so many lessons from different teachers am sorry to say they all suck if you understand Mike teaching you will enjoy the game like never before
If you have been trying to swing the club head at the target, as I have, and now retrain to swing on an arc, the feel of the swing is as if you are either going to hit a big pull or slice depending on where the face is pointed at impact. You must learn to trust and trust is gained through practice. Of course there is more to the golf swing, but the arc on which the club head travels is an absolute fundamental. Right, Mike?
I get what he is saying about the " swing arc", but the FEELING is something different, and the feeling is very important to people. For me, I finally ( 3 years now) am hitting the ball flush ( square), and the final straw for me , personally, was the feeling that I was went back away from the ball and straight through the ball. Now I was not trying to do that all the way through the swing, that would be dumb, but the feeling for me was to go straight back from the ball about a foot and make sure I was going straight through the ball another foot. It's a feeling thing.. but I can see how telling people what the club is actually doing will confuse people, because they will actually try to do it!... there is a difference between feeling and what the club is actually doing, and some people that are training end up confusing people and have them thinking what the club is actually doing is what they should actually be doing. OUtside of that... great teaching!
Mike I just had a lesson and the instructor said I was doing exactly what your talking about I was dragging handle out to right know I’m trying to throw the club from top and go around I’m able to do it correctly with the short clubs but lots of trouble with driver what’s a good drill for this. Thx
Your concepts make sense (simple physics). So all the things I learned about dragging the butt/handle towards the target line, etc just taught my nervous system to ingrain a faulty swing. Darn..now I have to retrain my brain again after wasting hitting thousands of balls. I should demand refunds from those teachers. Your videos should get a million views.
unfortunately some golfers are stuck in an area where the driving range has mats only, but the use of turf grass paint is a great training aid (no Mike didn't invent it)
Mike, first attempt to get the club out in front. Results were terrific. Couldn't find it the second time. Club keeps getting away from me, shots are thin?????? Not sure what I changed....too many variables
Practice bringing your hands to the proper position instead of bringing the head of the club to the ball. Get that swing arc feeling natural and the angle on the club head will become very consistent. From there you can tweak your grip at address to get the club head square. Mike teaches that rather than "timing" the club face angle you should find the natural angle your wrists take at the point of impact and use that to tune your grip.
hey mike. love the videos. they have made a big difference to my game. Any chance you can do a video on what starts the downswing. you tend to say "as we start our downswing" but do you recommend bumping hips forward, left knee ? if you could clear that up I'd really appreciate it. I've tried pushing off the balls of my feet but I find it hard to shift my weight back and push away. I was hitting hard hooks. long but left going left. cheers from Ireland.
Hi Mike These videos are so impressive and helpful and put to bed a number of misconceptions I have had As someone who tends to come far too much inside on the backswing do you have a video showing a correction or is it covered by your book? Thanks Ian. Inverness
Also look at a video by Johnny Miller talking about how great Lee Trevino was at chasing the ball down the target line...hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
+Billy P Johnny Miller (and all) golf pros say lots of things... His 'best golf swing tip' is get the left shoulder back to where it started at impact. I'll let you go ahead and pause the slow-mo vid of his impact position for that video and decide for yourself if his shoulder is back where it started or somewhere else. If Lee Trevino managed to get the club to 'follow' the ball to the target for an inch more than others that would be all and you can see the contortion he used to accomplish this, whilst playing a fade.
The concept of swinging "in to out" is a bit missleading. The "swing path feel" you should have is "in to in". That helped me. You never want to chase the ball down the line. Maybe if you're a chronic slicer and come way too much out to in you want to have the "in to out/throwing a bucket of water out to the right" feeling.
If he would rotate his left arm on the back swing he would be more fluid. He is not rotating it at all and still dragging his left arm "down the target line".

Mike has a way of clearing all the old ideas out of your head.

I feel like a religious moment - like eyes are wide open! Wow!
my mind is BLOWN! thank you for for your videos. I can't wait to get to the range to apply your concepts.
"I've never tried to make the club go over there, well it's obvious" lol
Funniest thing I’ve heard in awhile
Absolutely beautiful!!
best golf video of all time

Tried it today and it works Thanks Mike
Absolutely brilliant......;)

OUtside of that... great teaching!
Brilliant. Thank you
"Really" ... love it !! - Thanks Mike
I have to say that "really".... has kept me laughing for 10 minutes straight!!!
Great, excelent.
love your golf theory, getting the club face in front of you. thanks for explaining it.
number one Mike !!
Ty great info!!! Soaking it up !!!
Great video!! Very nice explanation.
It's obvious Dan received quite a few "tips" from other golfers that screwed up his swing. It's nice to see Mike debunking these myths.
So so eye opening
fantastic information, Thank you
Fresh and good !!
superb explanation
Lol "forget weight shift" so true

Hi Mike, which foot do we push against the club? Left or right?

Quote JACK NICKLAUS "Keep the club going down the target line as long as you can" UNQUOTE
Which is almost exactly .998 inches give or take an inch. LOL

Question. You talk about balls of feet, when others talk about heels?

Real golf nuts know that Mike is the true Golf Guru. Probably doesn't get as much shine as he should because he makes everyone else look bad.
So basically this is going to feel very very flat?
Ah ha moment.
the ex liverpool man has aged alot
"Really?" 😂😂😂
One video you say rotate forearms a.nd another you say not to ???????? No wonder we are confused
Always many thumb downs on Mike’s video, are you teaching controversial theory?
That poor guy... He is like, "Someone owes me a refund..."
How to stop inside out swing
