heading to SXM in a little over 2 weeks and I cannot wait! I’ve been wondering, is it easy enough to get taxis home from most parts of the island? We have a couple plans where we’ll all want to have a few drinks and won’t want to drive - sitting at the bar on Maho Beach, having dinner in Grand Case and touring Topper’s are the main ones.
Yes. You can ask the owners or managers at the restaurants to call a taxi for you. They usually have a list of preferred taxis they work with. I would also recommend you to take the number from one of the taxi drivers and keep it at hand in case the property you visit cannot get a hold of one of their regulars.
This is a very informative video. I'm currently planning a trip to St. Maarten for October 2022. Are there companies that do aquatic tours? Perhaps swimming with dolphins etc?
I believe there are some new aquatic companies. Especially new boat charters. As for swimming with dolphins: I will never endorse this or any other activity that promotes or offers the unethical treatment of animals.

I love your channel and informative videos.We are coming to visit next month and are thinking of staying close to the airport at an Airb&b on Simpson Bay Road (close to the Turquoise Shell Inn). The house is right on the beach and offers incredible ocean views and the rates are quite affordable. But we are wondering about excessive jet noise being that close to the airport. Would you think this would be a problem at that location? Thank you.
Hi there. You’ll definitely be hearing the jet engines but the location you are describing in Simpson Bay is not right at the airport or the airstrip. So the sound should not be at a level that it will disrupt your vacation in any way.

You'll see in the video about the boat that they do offer lobster and, unfortunately for the lobsters, so do a lot of other restaurants all over the island.

Hiking and the beach come to mind. But beware of which beach. There nay be strays or loose dogs that can cause problems. Keep your dog on the leash when at the beach.
Do a tour of the resorts on Orient bay...Please.!! We haven't seen that area in while and it seems to be a few new resorts along the beach front. I remember when Orient Bay was the Crown Jewel of SXM...and how are things at the new All-inclusive resort in that area going. ( Anse Marcel) ..?

I’m not a fan of all inclusive resorts. These are often owned by foreign companies that don’t have the island’s interest at heart. All inclusive also usually takes away of a more local experience. Having said that, I completely understand the appeal. As far as I know the better food is usually outside of the resorts and at the many gourmet experiences around the island
I stay at Hilton & went to supermarket to buy food. Not bad prices. Hilton has a full kitchen. Pots utenstils microwave stove oven full fridge. I recommend here
@@jessicag3858 took a three hour bus tour around entire island. There were dilapidated homes and businesses in so many locations there were not any nice structures. Just a bad experience.

Yea I’m at the Hilton, just staying at beach & get food at supermarket not going. Anywhere. It’s too humid to be outside, just staying in ocean for my 10 days
I was pregnant this summer when I went but can’t wait to book a boat excursion next time!! Also hopefully the Pinel ferry is open 😂. It was covered in seaweed! Orient Beach was nice to see.
Great video. I have one question? Do to my blood pressure issues and my religion I don’t get the vaccine…. Plus I just saw an the news that is not mandatory anymore in USA. Can I still travel to St Martin without getting the vaccine?

How far is what exactly? Please note that there is no Uber here. Just taxis and illegal rides called Gypsies, which I highly discourage.

Not in the month of May. You’ve just missed the Dutch side carnival then. It starts right after Easter and ends on May 1st.

If you buy the rum, can you bring it on the ship without a problem?
You should with no issues. They will most probably hold it for you till the end of the cruise to make sure you’re buying drinks on board.
If you want to drink it on the ship, you will need to smuggle it. Research the methods.

Hello question is it best to stay at a all inclusive resort reason I asks so we know about the food
I’m not a fan of all inclusive resorts. These are often owned by foreign companies that don’t have the island’s interest at heart. All inclusive also usually takes away of a more local experience. Having said that, I completely understand the appeal. As far as I know the better food is usually outside of the resorts and at the many gourmet experiences around the island
I stay at Hilton & went to supermarket to buy food. Not bad prices. Hilton has a full kitchen. Pots utenstils microwave stove oven full fridge. I recommend here

@@jessicag3858 took a three hour bus tour around entire island. There were dilapidated homes and businesses in so many locations there were not any nice structures. Just a bad experience.
@@fsd34760 that is sad to hear. They didn't recover well from Irma in 2017. Hopefully they do well with tourism and build back up within the next few year. Thanks for replying!
Yea I’m at the Hilton, just staying at beach & get food at supermarket not going. Anywhere. It’s too humid to be outside, just staying in ocean for my 10 days

I was pregnant this summer when I went but can’t wait to book a boat excursion next time!! Also hopefully the Pinel ferry is open 😂. It was covered in seaweed! Orient Beach was nice to see.
Yes, summer months are usually sargassum season. The Pinel and Tintamarre ferries are back up and running
