Hi Shelly, Once again, you pulled off a stunner of a page! It’s truly a magnificent piece of artwork!! Thank you so much for sharing Shelly, I appreciate you! 😊💗
Hi Shelly! I really enjoyed seeing you do this page since I had just done the same one a month ago. I agree that all of the little elements, especially the browns, were tricky to plan. I also used a lot of different colors, but since they were mostly natural colors (just polychromos), I think it works. I love how yours turned out! Cindy
Hi Shel, beautiful page. Just wondering if you sprayed a fixative on the pastel background and then activated the water color pencils? Did you get any resistance from the fixative or any issues with using water over the fixative?
Hi Gina, thank you! I normally spray the fixative after the soft pastel work. Then I go ahead with the pencils and activate them....I don't have any trouble with this. However, I have never tried laying down the pencil first and then spraying the fixative before I try activating, so not sure if this would work to be honest. 🤗
Hi Shelly, do you set the soft pastel before coloring over with pencils? What would you recommend? Hairspray or workable fixative? Can you also use the pastels for sashing all the elements of the page?
Hi Sharon, I don't always set it before working with my pencils personally, but I would definitely reocmmend you do especially if you have used a lot of soft pastels as they will smudge/transfer over the rest of your page. I use the workable fixative by Winsor and Newton. And yes, you can totally base other elements on the page with the soft pastels ....I don't bother with small elements, but the larger elements like the cabinet, table, floor etc, it would work great! 🤗💗
You are amazing! I just purchased the 120 set of Albrecht Durer and I’m struggling with finding a sharpener for their hexagonal shape! What sharpener do you use? Thank you for sharing such beautiful colouring :)
I use a combo of the Tenwin electric sharpener, Dahl 133 and a handheld KUM sharpener towards the end of the pencil. Hope this helps. Hope you enjoy playing with the ADs 🤗💗

U have a lot of patience
😂 my patience was definitely tested!
What fixative did you use on the pastels and could you actually say what it is and show it on your videos please.
I will try to remember next time - I usually do show them in my videos. I use the Windsor & newton workable fixative.

@@shelscolouringjourney Thanks. Once its sprayed I don't think the pencil would dissolve.

I meant basing, not sashing. Sorry

What water brushes do you use?
Pentel waterbrushes, most often the smallest size.
