Duke nukem forever is moderately good, moderatly mind you, it is disappointed that it took 12 years to make, but its as good as doom 3 Both games arnt living up on there predecessor legacy but they have a decent story and gameplay
Duke Nukem after having a horrific nightmare where he starred in DNF, realized that he’s in the wrong game but decides that he needs to save lives and kick ass.
I love how Duke shows concern for people he barely knows, like how he was genuinely furious that Sarrano tricked Dead Echo into killing innocents, or his refusal to leave the ship until he knows Isshi will pull through. It’s a side of him you don’t get to see much, considering he’s usually alone when he’s fighting aliens. He may be a horny egomaniac, but he truly is a good guy.
I think turning Duke into a charachter that just randomly shows up in different games and replaces the main charachter without knowing what the hell is going on would be the radest idea ever, but it would most likely also be a licensing nightmare.
After a night of drinking and getting blacked out drunk, Duke wakes up in another game, replacing Gray, at first, Duke doesn't really care, thinking he can just blow right through it, just like his past adventures, but when things get worse and worse, Duke realizes that things have changed, he can't just treat everything with disregard anymore, for the first time in his life, Duke has to learn to take things seriously.
What's this, Duke being an _actual character_ with personality, concern for others, fears and epicness without being a hollowed-out copy of himself? Guess life is still full of surprises. Also I might be on the minority, but I think Duke is a better lead than Grayson in this game. You know, HIS OWN GAME.
I only bought it for Duke and beat the game with just him as the lead. This is the best Duke since Duke Nukem 3D. The Forever version we got was a joke, I'm glad people are working on the Duke Nukem Forever 2001 Restoration Project right now.
