Isn't the belt tension adjusted by loosening the bolts that holds the pully to the housing and the bolts the holds the gearbox to the housing, then adjust the bolt under the sideshaft?
I find the flail mower mulches everything up much finer and leaves a nice clean trail . Also it’s a lot more compact to load on our trailer. As far as rocks go we do our best to avoid them, but we hit our fair share and haven’t broken anything yet . Best of luck and thanks for watching.

It looks like you could rotate the roller bearings by 90 degrees by removing those four bolts?

Would this do a good enough job to mow your lawn? Also if you are not too particular about your grass?
Yes it actually cuts really even . They also make grass blades for it instead of the heavy hammer blades.
Why is it worth spending more on a flail mower than a brush hog? If I have property with hidden rocks is a flail better?

You can get a flail mower that offsets which is a little more useful than a standard bush hog
