As someone who rushes fishing every Terraria playthrough I got a couple of tips 1. Not related to a farm like this, but if you fish a Quest fish and put it in any container, you can catch another. This can ease a lot of the pain of the Angler Quests, though you have to catch a few in 'prospect'. I suppose it comes down to what you want to spend time on, fishing more to 'reserve' time later, or building a more complex farm like this that can let you get to the 'objective' in a few seconds consistently. It's a prep time either way, so go with what works best for you, I like my comfy fishing holes at each biome so I go with the Quest stacking method. 2. Point as downwards as possible when casting. It will reduce reel-in time, doesn't seem huge but once you're in the rhythm of fishing you can feel the difference. Don't accidentally aim backwards if you're on the optimal toilet, of course.
i like to just shut off my void bag and completely fill my envantory. catched fishes cant enter my inventory. and i just place couple of chests and spam quick stack to actually grab quest fishes. Because terraria wont automatically let you grab more than 1 same quest fish at a time

(FILLING THE WATER HELP) If your unsure about how to fill the big pool of water just use the liquid duplication method, either search it up or follow these steps. Build a "u" shape out of any blocks, 3 blocks as a platform and 1 block on either side to create that u. Then grab a bucket of water and place the water over and over on the left or right side of the top of the u, hopes this helps.
I find this really difficult to follow without more visual help. I think this would've been great in a bit slower speed and using a ruler. But that's just me. Does anyone know the overall size that is needed for this? I'm pre-hardmode and wanted to prepare this. But following this is gonna be a true pain x.x
(DESERT FIX) For those whos desert isn't working, you have to have a total of 1500 sand blocks for it to be considered a sand biome. What I recommend doing is trading out the sandstone blocks for sand and put platforms under the pillar so the sand doesn't fall, then place the two big blocks of sand next to the water like he said, then build the same big block above the sand pillar on the right side like you did for the crimson. And that should be well over 1500, again use platforms under the sand, hopes this helps.
If you desert biome don’t work replace sandstone columns with with sand (put wood platforms under so it stays in place) then add a box like the crimson but made out of sand above the right side
This farm works well, except for the desert biome you added at the end. For anyone that is having any trouble with it and aren't getting all the biomes, you either messed up the measurements or there isn't enough space between the blocks you placed and the blocks around. I built mine in a hallow biome and for a while I only got jungle and mushroom but I kept working at the area and made more space and eventually it worked, so if you think this farm doesn't work which is what I thought at first, it does, you just have to keep working at it.
This farm does work. However, the sand blocks (desert biome) doesn’t work. Instead, the biome shows regular surface biome. Does it depends on which “sand” blocks?
So I followed all the steps, but noticed some of the measurements were a little screwed up. I fixed them in my build, but the farm doesn’t work. It spawns crimson and corruption enemies, but doesn’t change the background. The only background is the snow one
If your wondering if its out dated, its not. I just re built this again for the 6th time and it works fine for me. I also followed the video to a T. I dont see any measurements that are messed up. Creator just measures by gaps not wall to wall except for the roof and floor@@ddawg3514
Veteran Terraria player here, with 1500+ hours: I will say that this video helped me build the basics easier than the original, but this one feels very 'absolute'; I would say that, if you just want to be told how to make the farm, or you just want a world that has one built-in, use this video. It works through biome mechanics that I always struggle to remember. Your current biome is calculated based on how many blocks of that biome type there are within X blocks of your character. So by moving left and right you bring the blocks on one side into range while coming out of range of blocks on the other. And this adds up to standing on these specific points is the only time that there's enough of the blocks to spawn the biome. In Final's original build he had 2 pools. One above the surface line, one below. By building at/around the Level Surface line you can set up the surface and cavern fishing without having to spend the extra time to build a second version of the farm. In this case this can be achieved by building a second level of platforms above each of the existing fishing platforms that's at least level surface.
I have been getting back into Terraria, and it looks like someone has decided to use some of your videos as their own... What a shame that they can't design something genuine.
unfortunately no, however a solution for this is to go into the surface layer above the first pool and build a floating pool where you can catch surface fish too. Hope that helps
Still doesn't cover everything because there are fish that you need to catch in cavern level and fish that need to be caught in hell and fish that need to be caught in the sky
Ive used this guide to build the fishing farm about 4 times now. Everytime I try to add the desert biome, it always messes up. I'd just build a different desert fishing spot. What I think is happening: there are too many random sand blocks around the farm itself. you could try mining out a bigger area for the farm getting those pre generated sand blocks further from your character.
your houses are surrounded by too many “evil” blocks (ebonstone, crimsand, and so on). either use the clentaminator/terraformer or seeds to remove the evil biome from the surrounding area, or relocate the houses to a non-evil biome (desert, jungle, forest etc)

How to know if you caught something?
i dont know if this would work in a zenith seed...
I have been getting back into Terraria, and it looks like someone has decided to use some of your videos as their own... What a shame that they can't design something genuine.
Hey Terraria Slime! Can i catch surface fishes on this map? Slime fish won't seem to drop :/
unfortunately no, however a solution for this is to go into the surface layer above the first pool and build a floating pool where you can catch surface fish too. Hope that helps
how is your rod using 3 baits while my golden rod only used 1?
I don't know
@@Anonmous6 what mod are you using
Still doesn't cover everything because there are fish that you need to catch in cavern level and fish that need to be caught in hell and fish that need to be caught in the sky
screw my freaking fbobw gen, spawned me right next to crimson and corruption.
The music doesnt change and the only biome that works for me in the desert. Anyone know what happening?
Ive used this guide to build the fishing farm about 4 times now. Everytime I try to add the desert biome, it always messes up. I'd just build a different desert fishing spot. What I think is happening: there are too many random sand blocks around the farm itself. you could try mining out a bigger area for the farm getting those pre generated sand blocks further from your character.
Wait this isn't Minecraft
Leave.

It's all clever embellishment

This farm is out date or something ?

What about Cavern
is there a way i can download this map?
how many blocks do u dig down tho
he says in the video where to place your blocks, pay attention. it's in the beginning
Quick question, how did you get the fisherman and merchent to stay in the rooms, mine says that the rooms are corrupt.
your houses are surrounded by too many “evil” blocks (ebonstone, crimsand, and so on). either use the clentaminator/terraformer or seeds to remove the evil biome from the surrounding area, or relocate the houses to a non-evil biome (desert, jungle, forest etc)
