I've noticed Toro has been generous sending these units and snowblowers to all the "lawn nut guru's" this year. I may have to get one of these though. I just wonder how the batteries will hold up when not being used during the off season..
Welcome back...that thing looks like more work than a shovel. Not sure what they sell for? But my guess would be in a couple of years those won't be made any more. Can't wait to see the new yard!
On the asphalt it was much easier than a shovel because you're just pushing it not lifting anything. On the gravel it's more work because you have to keep lifting it up to not hit the rocks and it weighs more than a shovel.
Impressive. What programming language did you use? I built a similar one in Excel. Not the most ideal program. The formula became quite complex with many “if” statements used. It works though. I compared my output to what you have and it was good. I also convert to grams so I’m not trying to calculate fractions of an oz.
@@Alan_83 I used a standard LAMP stack for that. If you create an account it'll give application timings based on historical weather data. I was getting into more predictive data but then apple bought the weather api I was using and closed it.
When I built mine it was only designed to account for certain grass types with Bermuda being one of them. We moved to a new house and now have Fescue. My calculator doesn’t account for the different application rate for Fescue. I’d have to add some “if” “and” statements. As you can imagine, doing that in Excel becomes quite unwieldy. Thanks for taking the time to build that. Very helpful.
Is the noise from bits of ice? I expected no noise other than the motor. To me it sounds like you are on gravel, so I assume what we hear is ice bits at the base of the snow. Still, it makes me want to replace my electric thrower I use for the porch.
For what they are this is way overpriced, not higher than everyone else’s but buy a Toro used single stage and get this in the corded version for decks. My single stage gets used 90% of my storms in Colorado vs my Ariens 2 stage and I’ve owned it 20 plus years, I bought my nephew a used Toro single stage for 150 and told him to do like I did and buy a corded Toro shovel for 100 new at HomeDepot.
That thing would be great for older people. Very cool.
Oh, how I’ve missed that whistling ditty. Welcome back GD!
🤣
Hey Tim, it's been a long time. I have been a fan of yours since the early days. Welcome back. Congrats on the new home.
Power shovels are a great in between where its not deep enough to break out the gas powered blower. Definitely a useful tool.
Does it weed wack in the summer?

YEAH...You're back. Enjoyed the vlog, Love the snow, but have no use in my sunny zone
!!
How long does a battery last?
That things a beast. Glad to see ya making it back. 👍🏻
hope to see you on the lawn this year! The power shovel works great, but it looks incredibly uncomfortable to use. My back would be on fire.
We need a Grass Daddy 2021 lawn-cutting fix!
Pretty interesting, I have just saw these recently. Looks like it would work so much better than just using a snow shovel like I do lol.
Is there skid plates that you could adjust for gravel driveways? Glad your back on
I don't believe so
Are you able to move the blower for in between homes
It only goes forward
Looks promising
Would be nice if it had blades that you could offset the blowing snow rather than throw it right in front of you.
Love the woods out front sir - great location!
It's a great view!
Looks like a fun way to move snow. Did you announce you were doing a live video?
No did it spur the moment and set off my alarm system in the middle of it 🤣
@@GrassDaddy ALARM?! LOL I think a live show would be great, but you have to announce it. "Next Sat 2pm live stream" or whatever. :)
I came across a Prodiamine calculator on Google. Did you build that?
Yessir

@@Alan_83 you're welcome! Thanks for chatting
Good morning
that looks perfect for my walkway so i can make a path for my dog

The church had sand in some areas and my house is gravel.
She doesn't realize she's training for her new job! LOL!
Haha she asked to drive the zero turn the other day but it was in a snow storm 🤣
@@GrassDaddy look out! We're going to have another lawn kid.
Does it throw forward or off to the side?
Forward
Great to see you back in action. Powerful little Toro, ideal for sidewalks and small drives. I think the camera operator did a great job.
I gotta get one!!!
he back
He's back!

It definitely depends on location and size of driveway. Typically we don't get huge amounts, my old elderly neighbor used to do his with a corded one.
You are just destroying that thing on gravel.
I just can’t take anyone seriously who doesn’t wear gloves and a hat when clearing snow. Been clearing snow for 55 years.. just sayin
I'm not a serious guy! Also the Toro 60v 2 stage has hand warmers
