  • REAL SHORT AND SWEET 5 MIN HOW TO VIDEO!
HERE IS MY CURRENT TANASI GARDENS SUPERSOIL RECIPE AS OF 12/18/2020. AN ORGANIC SOIL FOR WEED NERDS. COST WILL RANGE FROM $400 TO $500.
    TANASI SUPERSOIL RECIPE
    30 CUBIC FOOT SOIL
4 - 30 POUND BAGS OF WORM CASTINGS
    4 POUNDS FISH BONE MEAL
    4 POUNDS BONE MEAL
    6 POUNDS PERUVIAN SEABIRD GUANO
    6 POUNDS BLOOD MEAL
    12 CUPS OYSTER SHELL
    12 CUPS KELP MEAL
    12 CUPS ALFALFA
    6 CUPS EPSOM SALT
    6 CUPS DOLOMITE LIME
    6 CUPS AZOMITE
    1 CUPS HUMIC ACID POWDERED
    5 POUNDS INSECT FRASS
    3 POUNDS NEEM SEED MEAL
IF I NEED AERATION IN MY SOIL I WILL ADD IT WHEN I USE THIS SUPERSOIL IN THE GARDEN.
I WILL LET THIS SIT FOR 60 DAYS IN THE TRASH CANS. I STORE THEM IN THE BASEMENT TO KEEP BUGS OFF AND TO NOT LET IT FREEZE WHEN ITS WINTER. THIS RECIPE WILL MAKE JUST UNDER 200 GALLONS. I CAN FILL FIVE 32 GALLON TRASH CANS FROM ACE. WHEN YOU USE SUPERSOIL, ONLY FILL AT MOST HALF THE POT WITH THIS SUPERSOIL THE REST WILL BE NORMAL BAG SOIL.

Yes the cold will freeze the batch and keep it from doing the “cook” thingy. Making it in January should have 60 days of warmth before you plant into it. Also if your think your to hot, use normal bag soil to make a buffer that the plant has to grow into the supersoil.

If your doing outdoor, You can re-amend that every year or two depending how big the pot is.
For indoor, I have re-amended up to three times but in the second or third run I start to have PH problems.
I think the soil being outside gets cleaned by precipitation in the winter but the indoor doesn’t. I bet if you have a cycle and can let soil sit outside or a way to flush it clean, you can reuse this soil a ton by just re-amending it.

Why restrict yourself to a single strain? That's the same product(or same intraradices strain) as the Mykos that so many people use. Also none have Gigaspora Margarita like Great white, which encourages mycorrhizal activity(like mycorrhizae for the mycorrhizae) The only other place I've found Gigaspora Margarita is Dr. Earth's "pure gold" 2-2-2 dry amendment. In gardening Gigaspora Margarita also increases nitrogen fixing node activity and reduces *their* intranodal spacing, which helps if you're growing beans or doing the no-till companion cannabis method(more nitrogen nodes = more growth in that setting). Not saying Great White is affordable, but for the variety contained the per/oz cost isn't as outrageous as you think and you can get away with much less usage(around 1/2 directions) and stretch it beyond most of the cheaper brands. Also Great White already has microbe food(other than the tricho's of course LOLZ) in it for what's contained, while Mykos and Wallace WOW still need you to add/use a microbe food which is another cost.
*FYI I'm not trying to say your advice is bad, just remember that there's many variables to consider other than just cost/product*
Edit: Also you don't want the excessive build up of glomalin in the soil because that will start suffocating root zone causing the introduction of anaerobic(pathogenic) bacterium. Which is what the Tricho's are good at preventing(I read Wallace WOW advertising the negativity of tricho's)
and the Ecto mycorrhizae also have beneficial effects on the surrounding microbs and the endo/root-feeding system, which is why he can advertise that is has no beneficial effect *on plants*.
Think about it, in agrictulture, monoculture is the easiest way to get disease. Is introducing a single strain of soil microbe nothing but monoculture within the root zone, when that single strain gets weak in any regard, *their* diseases can easily take over, which E-Coli(of course one of the worst anaerobic bacterium) thinks the intraradices strain is delicious. Sorry about this essay, I just want to help prevent people from poisoning themselves out of budget-mindedness(which *is* totally useful, just some things shouldn't be skimped on, and we all know what bacteria can do and in a matter of hours)

Looks complicated to me. Did you ever try a side-by-side test? Like growing identical plants in a commercially available potting soil vs this supersoil? It would be really interesting to show if the results are worth the effort. And I'd be quite interested in seeing the results.
Otherwise, these are simply irrelevant claims and a wasted of my time. But thanks for posting anyway.

    • @TanasiGardens

Ill give you some my soil and you can do the side by side. Im not interested in doing this test. Doesn't seem worth my time or effort. I dont make any claims here.. this is just a soil recipe that I use in my home grow. Like it or leave it homie. Why you coming at me? This isnt complicated.. toss amendments into soil and blend it up with water. be patient for 60 days and bam soil .>?

@@TanasiGardens I sincerely apologize if I offended you. I do appreciate your efforts in posting this video. I was simply wondering if you had ever done a comparison.
I am always intrigued by different ways to cultivate plants but I've learned through a lifetime of experience (I'm 74), that there are many claims that simply do not justify extra effort. I've learned this through hard experience. I am always willing to embrace new and different techniques, If I see something that intrigues me, I will give it a try and do my own comparison trial. You have no idea of how many different things I've tried myself doing comparative tests. And most of them have failed.
I hope you can understand that it would be unrealistic to expect that someone would go through the time an trouble to test a new and different approach based on something like, "this works for me." If I see something that provides any kind of obective evidence, I might give it a try.
Your method looked interesting and all I was asking was for some kind of evidence that it works beyond a much more simple approach.

I give very very detailed information on each grow. “This works for me” cause I show you thru data logging and photographs, and video how this soil preforms in my setup. What we are talk about here is ridiculous, a normal plain commercial bag soil from the store will not ever come close to producing a bud that this supersoil does. If you use Epsom salt, it should be dissolved in water and then given to plants, not mixed into the soil. but, if you're using Down to Earth products, you don't even need Epsom salt because there's magnesium and sulphur in the 4-4-4 Vegetable fert, which is also composed of alfalfa and kelp meal, and therefore can replace at least 3 of the products you're mixing. There's also WAYYYYYYY too many nutrients in that mix, and what NPK ratio are you even hoping to achieve with that mix? There's way too much nitrogen in it for bloom, and way too much phosphorus and potassium for veg.
