- Ahead of the Elite 8 matchup between Iowa and LSU Monday night, stars Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese talk about how much each has elevated the women's game and the competitive nature that leads to trash talk on the floor.
The Women's version of Magic and Bird. The WNBA are going to be blessed to have these Two Great Ladies representative the next great rivalry in basketball game for the next 10-15 years.

I was cheering for Iowa, but I saw Angel play for the first time last night and she was very very impressive and did so much on the court until she hurt her ankle. The problem she's been facing stems from being caught on camera dissing Caitlyn after last year's game was won. You rarely see any players do that at this level or the pros. Not at the opposing player, maybe they wave bye-bye to the fans but so what. But we really do not see poor sportsmanship like that because most players who win just take the time to be grateful for it. We are taught to be gracious winners and we are used to watching our sports heroes display that. So it rubbed many the wrong way. It was a mistake and she'll get over it and I'm not going to add to all the hate. Again, she is an amazing talent and I was very impressed with her game in the first half.

But unlike last year when Angel tried to rub it in Caitlin's face, Caitlin humbley dropped 41 pts and 12 asts with class and didn't return the same gestures back to Angel that she deservedly could've. I understand what Angel is saying, but what is a young athlete took it in another direction? In other words, they normalize NOT talking trash.
Defenders in football will tell you, some of the hardest guys to play against were barry sanders and marvin harrison. Of course because they were great and dynamic, but as soon as they would school you? They'd put the ball down and jog back to the huddle. Wouldn't say a word.

She's a liar. When she did an interview right after talking smack to Caitlin last year, she straight up said it was revenge for Caitlin "waving off" Angel's friend on the South Carolina team in the previous round. She said Caitlin was disrespecting her friend and now she was going to do the same to Caitlin. Which is fine if she believes that. But own it. Don't come back later and say it's just a little between-the-lines trash talk. She meant it, and the fact is she isn't as good as Caitlin and never will be.
Also let's be honest, Caitlin gets a lot of shade from other players because she's white. That's right, I said it. Someone had to.
