This is hands down the greatest arcade I’ve ever seen. Swapping out PCB’s, recording gameplay? That’s unheard of. I definitely want to check this place out. Thanks MPG ❤
It's definitely been the most lively and welcoming of any of the smaller local arcades I've been to, had a great time and I'm definitely going back soon.
This is awesome! One of the cool things about Japan is older people’s passion projects leading to amazing businesses for people to enjoy. BTW where can I hear the intro track (SF Japan remix?) in its entirety? Thanks!!
Thanks for sharing this!!1 I wish I knew about this earlier as I just got back from Japan on Sunday. I just finished visiting Mikado in Ikebukkero because I saw it on your channel. I really hope these places blow up and continue to thrive for years to come.
My god that's so awesome and what a rich history with the owner and his family. That's so dope that they're very welcoming to first timers and foreigners especially. Mad respect to these peeps. Definitely gonna hit this place up whenever I'm in town.
This was awesome to see!!! I know you hate being branded as the “Japan guy” but I think you should embrace it, you’ve lived there so many years and have so much knowledge on the local scene you could give us a tiny insight on the gaming culture in Japan
Yeah, it's great to see that places like this have such a loyal group of regulars, and that the word is out that it's a top notch arcade, especially if you're into competitive play.
with all the arcades that closed in Japan I was worried that it was a dying artform. this video instills hope. thank you for posting and I'm subscribing (I found this as a suggestion)
There are still plenty of arcades in operation. Some of them have gone through some management changes, Sega for example selling off their arcades, but there are also still a lot of smaller arcades like this one in operation. I'm planning to cover a lot more of them in 2024. Thanks for subbing!
It's a great arcade, and very welcoming to newcomers. A lot of regulars, and multiple themed nights throughout the week including STGs and Capcom Vs SNK 2 tourneys.
Don't watch or follow wrestling at all, but occasionally accompany friends to live events. I liked wrestling in the late 90's, and ECW was definitely the coolest.
first off definitely digging the AKIRA t-shirt! wow I didn't realize how long the owner's been at it I'm sure I've seen clips on twitter about him and his arcade as far as the street fighter tournaments stuff goes. kinda blown away by all the extra perks though, wow this guy really goes the extra mile for his fans!! sounds like it's for the most part shmups and fighting games? but I ain't complaining I do love me some street fighter.
Yeah, mostly for shmup and fighting game enthusiasts, but there were also A LOT of Gundam Extreme players, and there's a slot machine/pachinko corner which I neglected to film.
Thanks for watching, everyone! If you enjoyed the video, be sure to drop us a like, and let us know what you think of this AWESOME arcade!
The passion, the professionalism. No question why people want to support such an awesome place! Class stuff and cool insight!
It really is an awesome arcade. I'll be going back for sure.

My pleasure. If you ever get the chance, definitely pay this place a visit.
I'm going with you on your next trip. Non negotiable.
Challenge accepted!
What a unique arcade. Putting it on my list whenever I visit Japan again 😊😊😊

Check the description, I included a track list.
@@MadPanicGaming Ok thank you!
I love seeing Japanese arcades! Thanks for the great video! What an extraordinary place with such cool history! You’re the man Jim!
My pleasure. Thanks for watching!
First time member gets to play for free?! You can even use their equipments to record your footage?! They are such nice people
Yes, the staff are super nice people. Also, Jun, the son of the owner, speaks English and is happy to assist visitors who can't speak Japanese.
Very Nice, thank you !
My pleasure. Thanks for watching!
That is enough reason to take another 14 hour flight again.
DO IT!

This is beyond generous. THANK YOU! You keep watching them, I'll keep making them.

Go for it! The arcade is awesome and the community around it is very welcoming.

Well, we'll find a happy balance in 2024 I think.
OMG this place looks amazing Jim! You can see why people travel fro so far away to play there
Definitely one of the top arcades in the city.
Stg shmups love em. Would love to spend a day here. Dodonpachi and Mushihimesama my favorites by of course the legendary Cave
They had plenty more shmups to choose from, just have to ask the staff to swap them out. It's awesome.
Nice to see arcade's in japan, doing fine. Could do with collecting some cps2 boards at some point ^^
Yeah, it's great to see that places like this have such a loyal group of regulars, and that the word is out that it's a top notch arcade, especially if you're into competitive play.
@@MadPanicGaming thought id join there facebook too, Not joined any arcade groups yet
As munch I love to see the advancement of console games nowdays, still nothing can't beat the classic arcade games 😌👌
I agree, nothing like the atmosphere and good times you get from a packed arcade.

1:35 50 years??
Yes. As they explained it to me, he worked for Namco in the 70's and left to open his own arcade during the Space Invaders boom.
Really cool arcade! The free game play recording service is amazing. Can understand why so many players are loyal to it!
Something else I neglected to mention, when competitive play is in progress, it's on free play.
Love this!
It loves you too.
Arcades are becoming a dying breed. I'm so glad you're keeping up these kinds of videos!
I have A LOT more arcade vids planned for 2024.
Bring back the arcades, bring back the CRTs, bring back the 90s, but this time, in every country.
Very cool and fun looking Arcade. I love the passion that the owners have.
What shmup is being played @5:41?
DoDonPachi SaiDaiOuJou
Dude, that place looks and sounds awesome! I see they also have Exa games as well! Very cool
It's a great arcade, and very welcoming to newcomers. A lot of regulars, and multiple themed nights throughout the week including STGs and Capcom Vs SNK 2 tourneys.
You've probably been asked this before, but where did you get that Akira shirt?
It was a long time ago, I really don't remember. I possibly found it on Japanese Amazon.
Where can I get that dude's Altered Beast shirt?
No idea, I'll have to ask him next time I see him.
Do you still watch pro wrestling or did you like just like ECW back in the day? AEW is a lot like ECW.
Don't watch or follow wrestling at all, but occasionally accompany friends to live events. I liked wrestling in the late 90's, and ECW was definitely the coolest.
@@MadPanicGaming I figured because of the transition clip you use. I recognized it from ECW. Thank you for your videos dude.
@@Pressing-On-Media My pleasure. Thanks for watching. 👍

@@MadPanicGamingjust finished the video! Amazing work Jim. I love seeing these retro arcades with these candy cabs
5:50 America could NEVER
now I know where I'm gonna go when I first get to Japan
You'll be welcomed with open arms.
My definition of heaven.

I like the arcade in Takadanobaba. They have tournaments too. And multiple floors of different kinds of retro arcade games.
This is good stuff
THANK YOU!
very good
I like the person - perhaps they traveled hours - who came to a world famous arcade to play… Tetris.
That's a buddy of mine, you can also see him playing DoDonPachi and Street Fighter.
Looks like they fully turned into a tourist attraction
What gave it away? The complete lack of tourists?
