Dude, not going to lie, this video didn't look all that professional, but man did you explain this SO perfectly. I use Cherry reds for gaming and LOVE them, so I was looking for a new 60% for typing at my job, with reds. Decided to get the Cherry browns because I use Gateron clears which are linear as well and I make TONS of mistakes just like you said. Thumbs up, and thank you. Hope your channel grows.
Just remember, there's a lot more than just cherry, I personally am not a very big fan of their clicky or tactile switches, their linear are pretty decent though
@@nsummy I really miss the days you tube had these type of videos. Now the content creator will fill you with 100 facts that you don't really need to know before answering what the title said it would. The extra information is nice but sometimes it's obviously just to get you to the 10 or 15 minute mark.
Love how well you explained the basics. No big channel had such a well-put, insightful explanation. Now I can happily continue my journey in switches without any confusion :)
Went to a handful of websites before I found your video. Just five minutes and you answered all my questions before buying a Keychron K4. Thank you so much!
TYSM for making a quick short and informative video on this! some of these videos are like an hour long and swirl around in their explanations. this is exactly the info I needed -- SUPER HELPFUL!
I've been trying to understand the difference between this three switches for a week and now I saw this video. Thank you man. You make it so easy to understand
this guy explained what I needed to know in 5 minutes. while I saw youtube almost took 20 minutes to explain it. I'm not bashing on them its just that I already got what I needed to know in a 5 minutes video than a 20-minute video that may or may not have more information or just an over-explained video.
Fantastic explanation, and really glad you did a sound test as well. Tech reviewers seem to like throwing as much info in as little time as possible at their viewers and skip over this stuff which I find the most important to understand when buying something. Definitely subbed
Yeah, I used to watch many tech RUclipsrs throughout the years until they ran out of tech tips and started blasting us with ads and click bait headlines and thumbnails.
This video was actually so helpful. I'm in the market for buying my first mechanical keyboard and I was so close to buying switches without realizing there are different versions of registers that I should be looking out for. Thank you so much!
I have been trying to find a video that explains the difference between the types of switches for ages and found this, thank u sm u explained this so well :)
THANK you! i've watched 5 or 7 videos to understand the difference in feel and usage between linear and tactile switches and it's mostly sound tests and info like "these have a bump" or "these don't have a bump" but nothing about how it translates into use thank you for a clear short explanation :)
I'm a random gal from the internet who was just looking to buy a mechanical keyboard for the first time. This was THE most helpful thing I came across about key switches! Thank you so much for your clarity and visual examples. Best of luck to you! :)
Do you know how long it took me to find a video explaining this?? You got right to the point, and described it so well, that there's no way I could have misunderstood.
FINALLY, an excellent video for people who are first time looking for a mechanical keyboard but get confused with Tactile, Linear, and Clicky switches. After watching this video, I am going to get myself a Logitech G512 carbon with Tactile switches. Appreciate!
Thanks man, couldn't decide whether to get linear or tactile. After watching this, I'm gonna get tactile browns. I need to replace my current keyboard, which has clicky switches, and it's really loud. This was straight to the point, simple and easy to understand. Thank you!
Dudee this is one of those legendary, absolutely perfect videos that you see once a few years on youtube. Thanks dude. I'll be sure to check out your other content.
finally someone who can just say exactly what you were looking for in your research without wasting our precious time. cheers buddy, keep doing this great work
It's Black Friday and getting ready to pick up a high end SteelSeries keyboard and your video nailed the description of each type and what I need for both gaming and work.
Thanks for explaining this. I am looking into buying a mechanical keyboard and all the different terms were confusing. You really helped me understand it much better.
this was really cool in explaining the difference between the keys. I recently got my new keyboard and i was trying to see the differences on the keyboard since i just picked up a keyboard with out looking really into it. Im glad i went with the tactile keyboard since it gives some sort of feedback and is also nice to listen to. thank you lol you saved me a trip from returning the keyboard on fomo
I've bounced back and forth between linear and tactile and I now conclude that although linear SOUNDS great, it is really not the best to type on for accuracy (I'm a touch typist about 90 wpm and 98% accuracy on a tactile keyboard but I go down 80 wpm at 95% on a linear) so typing is far more accurate with that tactile bump. I also find my fingers get more strained when using linear switches. My favourite keyboard to date is the CK75 by Coolkiller with tactile switches, they're thocky/clacky and super satisfying to type on but not too loud for public spaces.
I know this video is pretty old now, but I am in the market for a new keyboard. This video was super helpful. Thanks man! Hope your essays went well xD
Thank you so much. I am starting college n my course requires me to type 45 to 50 WPM in order to pass. I was using Mavis Beacon trying course and my speed was just averaging 25 to 33 WPN my hands were getting tired and need a smooth keyboard. So base on your help I have learned that I need to go with Tactile and not linear. Your awesome thank you again
Thank you so much for this video. I don't do PC gaming and was just about to purchase a "Linear" module until I saw your video. Now I know that "Tactile" would better suit the way I use a keyboard. You're a lifesaver...thank you again!

Best 5 mins on mechanical keyboards ever! Seen so many rambling vidoes on YT that do not really get to the point! Bravo!
Easily one of the best videos explaining it, legend.

Pleasantly surprised. An hour worth of research trying to understand the difference between the keys explained in your 5 minute video. Thank you!
