This is gonna sound really sappy. When I visited my family in Mexico I couldn’t help but play this on my cars speakers as I crossed the border. I was far from home but also not really. But it was my first time being on my own so far away from home. I get a double hit of nostalgia when I hear this song since I immediately think of the family members I got to meet who were so loving and welcoming and thinking back to this game with a tragic but beautiful story of seeking redemption and the lengths we go to for those we love.

This song is in my opinion so poetical because you can give multiple meanings. Just with few verse and such a melodic guitar sound it expresses a lot of feelings. For me it’s like a picture of an ideal world which is too far away from the one we’re living in: our life and world are like a night in which we walk through in a state of numbness with a blurry sight and an aching chest unknown of any truth or of what will happen next. When we see all the bad things that happen because of mankind (who constantly recreat a mess) everything seems so hopeless and “far away” from something really good and pure. To feel alive and escape from this numbness sometimes we must risk everything like stepping in front of the death (like a train).
