For 2022!?! Wander and O’Neil Cruz? I definitely didn’t hear comparisons to 2018 for that class. Wander for sure, but there were barely a few other rookies anyone was excited about. This year, there was Elly, Skenes, Langford, Chourio, Dominguez, Evan Carter and Holliday that people were clamoring for months in advance. That 2022 year was just about Wander from what I recall, but I could be wrong for sure. Thank you for watching and commenting!
I'm not big on pitchers.Kerry Wood was great, but never made the H.O.F. Mark Prior is another one.I went to grade school with a guy who was going to the Oakland A's, but blew out his arm in the minors. That guy had a 99mph fastball.I remember in grade school playing dodgeball Everybody covered their heads, and ducked down when he got the ball, scared of getting their head knocked off.I can't go all in on any pitcher, they are just too injury prone, they get injured, and are never the same.
Awesome video Mr David Gonos and some great pics. Have a good one and until your next video ✌️ Mr David Gonos. Hope you and your family had a good Christmas and I hope you and your family have a great New Year's Day too.
New subscriber here. Great overview of this year’s rookie class cards! Skenes looks like a sure bet but agree about the injury risk. Hoping he stays healthy!
Such a fun rookie class. As someone who likes to collect multiple sports I just can’t stay away from baseball this year because of this class. I’ve probably ripped 3X more baseball than the other sports combined.
Swing and a miss on my part! He had a great season and should definitely be in there. I’d say he should squeeze in there around 11th on this list. Thanks for catching that, Tim!
Great list and nothing really i could change, i may move Elly up above Chourio and close to Merrill my only reasoning is the excitement factor elly brings makes him so much collectible. Great stuff here
Nice list! If your putting the price of Gold card, can you put up pics of the actual gold cards instead of the base? Best values: Lawrence Butler, Jordan Lawler, Heston K and maybe PCA. Jackson C still has good value based on potential.
Yeah, I wanted to, but finding good images of the Gold cards was tough, so I just showed base. I missed on Butler for sure. Thank you for watching and commenting, Jason! What’s your top-10 list look like?
@@DavidGonos No research or stats, just going off of guys I like to have a great future: 1. Elly 2. Jackson C 3. Skeens 4. Jackson M 5. Junior C 6. Colton C 7. Wyatt L 8. Lawrence B 9. Colt K 10. Jasson D/Jackson H for Value: 1. Jordan L 2. Lawrence B 3. Jackson C 4. Colton C 5 Junior C 5. PCA 6.Heston K 7. Colt K 8. Jackson M 9. Mason W 10. Yomamoto
Great list love it. Even as a Pirates fan, I still have trouble putting Skenes #1. I think Jackson Merrill is #1 long term, that top 3 is solid and the 24 rookies crop has potential to be one of best ever.
Yeah man, it’s weird. Skenes is obviously the most collectable right now, but dang, I wish this was 2021 for him, with no threats around him. There are a ton of great hitting sharks behind him in 2024, with Merrill, Chourio and Caminero on his tail. Not to mention ELDC and Holliday.
Sure! So Topps Gold is a parallel of the base cards, and they’re numbered to whatever year they were produced. So this year’s Topps Gold cards are numbered to /2024. For a collector on a budget, they’re nice cards to pick up that are special, beautiful, and not too expensive. Obviously, the Skenes is now expensive, but just a few months ago, it was more reasonable. Thank you for asking! Here’s a video I made about Topps Gold a year or two ago. ruclips.net/video/4CFq-dV3E6w/видео.htmlsi=gHD8yEWI96arvIwJ

Great list. Thanks for making it
Oh wow, well thank you for watching and commenting!
Great content hopefully these guys do good in the long run heard the same thing in 2022 the best since 2018 that didn’t pan out to well

Very interesting video. Not guys I’d normally collect. But another great video
Thanks, Chris!
Great list. Well done. Cool to see the O’s and Jackson Merrill in there.
Yeah man, if I did this last year, the O’s would’ve had the top two spots I imagine, with Adley and Gunnar. Gonna be tough for my Rays to beat!
@@DavidGonosThanks to your video I got a Kjerstad Rookie Debut blue out of 999 for a little bit over $6 after taxes. ⚾️👊
@ Sweet! Thanks for watching! Scott H, one of our regulars on here is an Arkansas fan and he loves Kjerstad!

Good point, Kevin! What sports do you normally collect again?
Baseball, basketball, football
& hockey.
I guess Lawrence Butler is number 16 🤷
Swing and a miss on my part! He had a great season and should definitely be in there. I’d say he should squeeze in there around 11th on this list. Thanks for catching that, Tim!

Very true about Elly! But man, if he doesn’t develop everything else, those wheels can’t carry him past 30. But I’m rooting for him!
@ hes got to cut those strikeouts down for sure as you mentioned. I think francona helps him. I look for reds to be in the playoffs

Yamamoto seems more collectable than Shota to me... Dodgers are popular.
Yep, agreed. I have Yamamoto ranked higher also.
happy hobby bangers
I can't help but notice how Luis Gil wasn't on the list. How does Luis Gil get American League ROY? This is very confusing.
Luis Gil rookie card came out in 2022. This is just ranking rookie cards from 2024.
I can't wait to see what Jung-Hoo Lee does with a full season...if he's healthy. He could be a guy to keep an eye on.

Good call! Someone to add to the list!!!!
